So if you've stopped gambling, you've also stopped taking money from your parents, right? Since you were spending it on gambling, you don't need it any more2

The debt is the issue, not the gambling. The gambling has stopped.
If you can’t find your license then order a new one and get it done.
Being in lockdown & not triggering Gamstop as a first priority is like being an alcoholic and walking around with a hipflask in your back pocket
I resisted for years because I loved gambling.
Now: I love not being in crippling debt, not worrying about letting my family down, the impact on my mental and physical health, fearing the postman, hiding letters, the sleeplessness, the feeling of being a 'bookies !!!!!!', the idea of overpaid gambling company executives chinking glasses every time I squandered a deposit...

Yes the debt is the issue because of the gambling! If you don't address the cause of the debt you won't solve the problem. The cause of the debt is your gambling, this is where you have to start. You may be all enthusiastic at the moment saying you will never gamble again but without help you will, you know just a small bet, to show you are in control and so it escalates.Alcoholics have to give up alcohol for good, they can't have one drink because that then leads to another one and another one and they are back to where they started.
You have had a lot of excellent advice on here by people who have been where you are now and have come out the other end.
Please take note, they know what they are talking about, they can see clearly what lies ahead.Listen to them and take action.2 -
If the money from your parents comes in via standing order, just send it back straight away. Otherwise it just sitting there means it'll get spent, probably on gambling.
Look I know it's hard. I've dealt with addiction too and I've learned to avoid triggering situations - ie for you it's having money to do any sort of gambling. All cold turkey plans start out the same - lots of motivation to do it, but that lessens as things go on and life inevitably gets hard. There's no shame in seeking support.
You've had good and varied advice on here and it's your choice now. If you don't want to change anything, then just accept that instead of making excuses. But don't try and fool yourself into thinking going about things the same way will produce a different result.

Thanks to all the posters above. I've read each and every comment.
Just a quick update, I've decided not to get the drivers licence just now, I'm going to wait til Payday. Its £20 and I just don't have it spare. I will on payday though.
Secondly, good news. It was the return of German football today and I have been looking forward to this day as a chance to recoup some losses. I woke up this morning and decided, for this day only, I will not gamble. And I haven't! I'm feeling so empowered and excited that this is finally getting under control.
Thanks to everyone.0 -

WD for resisting temptations today. But self exclude from the accts u got open and you don't have to worry. You can open another but you won't be able to withdraw without photographic ID anyway.
If your budget is so tight that £20 is the difference between ordering some vital photo ID or not, then 2 things:
A) you can't afford to gamble a penny &you need to self exclude, company by company , like tonight. It takes about 4 clicks and a password, then you are mentally and emotionally free.
I can't tell you the relief I felt when my gamstop confirmed; no matter how low, anxious, pished off, (drunk😱🍺) or bored i'd be for the next 5 years, I can't bet or game online. 👍👍👍
