    I'm convinced you're on a wind up

I'm with you on that. The inconsistencies are mounting: no photo ID but able to hold multiple on-line accounts. I mean did OP never withdraw winnings? Ever? You can't without account verification. Do posts read like someone with the maturity level of 37?

There's zero buy in from OP on any advice offered.

He'd have to post something pretty concrete to convince me that this isn't the actions of a 15yo on a 'reply wind-up'.

If you are genuine why not post what you plan to do to sort the debt? There's no sympathy if all you offer is time-wasting deflection and faux excuses.

& for what it's worth; get angry at the casinos, your circumstances, yourself and not those who've taken an interest in your diary and been bothered to post advice.

    You're welcome

One of my cousins married someone who acted like you are describing here. Gambling, taking money from family, telling everyone that they were working to fix everything, but in reality just saying what he thought that people wanted to hear.
In his case it ended very badly. His wife kicked him out because of the effect it was having on his children, and we all lost touch with him. It turned out that he ended up dying alone in his 30s, with the body not found for weeks.

The same poster started a thread back in October and said he’d been gambling free for months and had signed up to Gamstop etc back then.

    That's good detective work Nick

Whilst I wish for everyone's mental health be protected online, the hard truths need telling sometimes. If OP is real, & nothing changes, there'll invariably be a 3rd thread in which the situation has shifted from dire to catastrophic.

In contrast, I don't see it fair that anyone, OP included, should mug off those who give up their time, wellbeing and advice to post on this forum or anywhere that's meant to provide help and support. (Speaking as someone from both an advice and MH background).

"So basically I was in a lot of debt from gambling, including an overdraft of 5k. Total debts were £13k. I went into a DMP and the interest was frozen on the bank account but it remained open. I screwed up several times, at one point I has the overdraft down to £3k but I used it for gambling and it maxed out, and I didn't pay anything into it for a while. In my despair I abandoned the DMP but did keep paying minimums myself and to the credit cards and loans.

Fast forward to now, I'm 18 months gambling free, got every possible block in place to stop my gambling (gamstop, physical bans from every casino in UK, my partner controls my bank account), and a much better paying job. I have started making serious inroads into the debt, paying £400 a month and I'm now 10 months until I'm debt free. I've got the overdraft down to 4k now, and to my enormous surprise I'm still not being charged interest and the bank have never contacted me, despite my terrible behaviour in continuing to use it for gambling whilst in a DMP."

OK, none of these details on this thread; the inconsistencies mount. I'd still love to hear an explanation, even if my empathy and interest for this thread has waned...
