I could have had it delivered on Sunday but I ordered a couple of other bits and one of those wasn't available until today so I opted to have it all delivered in one go. Definitely hope it turns up. I didn't order a very expensive one but obviously more expensive than the Lidl one!
I've got some chopped lemon in the freezer which I was going to make sorbet with but lost the recipe so hoping I'll be able to do that in the ice cream machine tomorrow after I've frozen the bowl. Not planning on going shopping until at least Thursday or Friday. Will need to go then as will be completely out of bread, apart from rolls by then!

That's so annoying. Definitely get on to Amazon again and hopefully they'll send another one pronto!
Just been doing my menu plan for next month as will need to get at least next week's food when I go shopping later this week. Will be buying all the meat I need for the month this week so I don't have to keep going to the butchers because it's in the opposite direction to the supermarket!

Wet, grey and miserable here too. It's the only bad weather we've had since lockdown started so hope it doesn't last too long.
That's very strange to have a delivered message when it's not bubbs. Generally, I thought, the delivery people activated that message after you'd signed for it. Let us know how you get on.
I'm going to do a freezer inventory today. I'm pretty good at keeping the list up to date. I write everything down and then cross out/add as things come and go. There's an awful lot of crossing out on my lost t the moment!I've got plenty of HM ready meals (Bolognese and chilli) and OK for frozen veg but I think meat is a bit thin on the ground. I know I'm using the last of the chicken today. This week could be an expensive shop.
I know I've got some pork chops/steaks in there. I think they're shoulder chops. I'd like to oven cook them in a gravy or a sauce. Any ideas for something SW friendly?
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porage, HEA milk
L- veggie omelette (P,S), ham (P0, pickled cabbage (S)
D- chicken casserole (P,S) with new potatoes (F), butter beans (P), cauli, cabbage and broccoli (S)
Syns- cornflour 1

Afternoon everyone.
Weather dull here too though no rain as yet. I think the garden would be very glad of some!
DD2s birthday at the weekend and her choice was a chinese takeaway - not my favourite but I don't think my choice was too bad syn wise.
I'm on a mission to run down the freezer this week, all sorts of oddments in there, so we'll be having some rather interesting meals! I've prepped a veggie lasagne for tea and made a wholemeal loaf which is in the oven now and smells so tempting....
Maman I made a stir fry with a stray pork chop and lots of veg last week, just a couple of syns in the sauce (honey chilli garlic and soy sauce).
Penny, I'm another whose gained quite a bit but we've done it before, we can do it again!
Have a good week all.1 -
Maman I was going to suggest either a stir fry or a sweet and sour to use up your pork steaks. Although if you want to oven cook them you could just do a mini roast with roast potatoes & roasted veg plus green veg.
Ama*on don't require signatures any more so it's probably quite easy for things to go astray! All they do now is leave your parcel on the doorstep, knock and walk away so you may or may not make it to the door before they drive off so it is in effect contactless delivery. I'm still waiting but deliveries don't usually arrive here until quite late even though the depot is only about 20-25 miles away.
I'm sure you'll come up with some 'interesting' meals this week esmy. I'm going to be using up some bits and pieces of veg tomorrow along with the small bits of lamb left over from the Sunday roast tomorrow for lunch.
Was really pleased with my boiled egg with salad today! Wasn't sure whether it would be soft or hard and happily I managed to get it just right so it was still quite soft but with the white properly cooked.

Thanks for the feedback. If I made a roast type meal, would you brown the steaks perhaps add an onion and some rosemary and stock then braise in the oven then thicken with some cornflour. Does that sound about right?
You can lose what you've gained esmy. It might not be easy while you're emptying the freezer but when you come to restock, you can work it round a SW friendly meal plan. I've not eaten out since 12th March so it's been easy to stay in control of food.... wine not so easy. 🍷😉3 -
That sounds good Maman. Let us know how it turns out. Enjoy!
I'm also finding it difficult around wine! I'm definitely better sticking to spirits & diet mixers.

I would put the porkchops in gravy with onions and potatoes sticking out so they go all crispy
