Exactly the same for me ruby when I had to go for a blood test right at the beginning of lockdown!  I was in and out in about 10 minutes - usually have to wait about 2 hours!  You don't seem to have many syns each day, are you having more than you put on here (which is what happens with me!).

Forgot to say when I posted earlier that I remembered to weigh this morning and it's STS over the last 2 weeks.  A bit disappointed as have been low syn this week, just wondering if perhaps I didn't eat enough.  Will have to see what this week brings!

That’s annoying about STS joedenise I can sense your disappointment. Hopefully you’ll get a bigger loss next week, fingers crossed.
The pasta dish is one of Gino’s. Uses butter to soften onions (will swop for fry light) and 100ml single cream. Will split that between 4 of us so 2.5 syns. Should have bought plain quark - schoolgirl error!

Glad yours was also relatively painfree denise.  You're right I don't have too many syns and I think that's because a) I'm trying to only eat when I'm hungry and not for the sake of it and b) if I have "bad" stuff in the house I'll just end up stuffing my face with it!  I'm trying to plan in more meals that use a few more syns next week and see how it goes (one is a gorgeous looking chicken alfredo that I saw a recipe for yesterday that has proper cream in it so lots of syns there!)

Oh and I don't use frylite, just a regular spray oil so don't count that when I'm cooking which will add 1 or 2 more to the total.

It's been tipping it down here too. So disappointing as we'd booked for a NT garden. Fortunately, it did clear up and it was good to get out and go somewhere other than Aldi 😉

Shame about the STS denise. It's so frustrating when you know you've been on plan. I put jeans on to go out and it wasn't as bad as I'd expected but still think I might have to be a bit stricter when groups open again. ☹️

If I were you, I'd have the butter and the cream coxy. If you're only going to have one rum and coke you've got loads to spare. I know many people don't lose if they don't use their syns or eat enough in general. If you really don't need them for treats then use them in recipes. 🙂

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes, mushrooms (S), HEA 1 milk, HEB toast
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), spring onions, pickled cabbage (S)
    D - SW Bolognese (P, S) with tagliatelle (F), HEA 2 Parmesan
    Syns 0

Thanks everyone.  You're right coxy I am very disappointed and frustrated after a good week.  Will try to make sure I have more syns this week!  Obviously only having 80 or so just isn't enough for me to lose!  Most days I was around the 10 syns with one day where I went a couple over.  Think I'm going to have wine at the weekend rather than rum and then I'll definitely use more syns, LOL!

I used a Delicious magazine pulled pork recipe as it really was delicious!  I didn't add the milk which was listed, as to be quite honest didn't really think milk would go well in a tomato based sauce!  I did a Tbs of smoked paprika as well as the spices and herbs listed as I think that's the only recipe I haven't seen it in.  The sauce was amazing.  Glad I cooked enough for us to have pulled pork rolls for lunch tomorrow.  Looking forward to that.

Definitely use the cream ruby and coxy to use some syns.  Like maman says if you don't need them for chocolate or alcohol then definitely use them in recipes.  I try to keep most of my meals low syn so that I can have my rum and wine (and chocolate sometimes!)

  • Evening all. I forgot to post yesterday and wow there's a lot to catch up on! Sad times, happy times and frustrating times it seems!

Not very exciting menus here after toad-in-the-hole-etc-bingefest. WI tomorrow so I've just had salad, fruit and a couple of HEX. It may, or may not be enough to pull it back, but if I don't gain I'll be happy. I feel a lot less bloated and not hungry so fingers crossed. Lots of walking, been averaging 16000 this week, and managed a 2 mile jog plod this evening, so feeling quite proud. New start tomorrow.

We were hoping the 5 mile travel rule might be relaxed here in Wales tomorrow, but the announcement previews don't look hopeful. We are a very rural county and 5 miles doesn't get you anywhere near the next village, let alone town. We've got some wonderful scenery that we're just not allowed to access. I understand the reasons, but it's quite hard seeing people in England (not that far away) being able to drive places when we're very much stuck.  Still, I suppose we're lucky that everything we need, including supermarkets, are in easy walking distance, and that we are both able to work from home. We're better off than those that have no choice so I really shouldn't moan.

It's been pouring all day and not particularly inspiring for working, so I logged-off early and will do another couple of hours after a soaky bath. Hubby wants wine tonight but I know if it's in the house I'll succumb, so I've persuaded him to wait until tomorrow. Day off tomorrow so back to the delights of attempting home-schooling.

Fingers crossed for tomorrow CTWD. 🤞🙂
I googled the pulled pork recipe denise. What's put me off trying pulled pork before is trying to cut the fat off a joint. This looks easier with cubes. What cut did you use? I've got most of the other ingredients in but not allspice. DH loves pulled pork so I'd like to give it a go. 🙂
