Got quite a few yellow courgettes on my plants but they're far too small at the moment to use! Couldn't get any green courgette seeds - probably left it a bit late. Got several butternut squash plants but no sign of any flowers yet. The tomatoes have got quite a few flowers but no fruit yet.
I ordered dwarf bean plants and they haven't even arrived yet - at this rate they won't even get into the ground until at least the end of the month which is quite late I think!
They're the only things that will be in the ground. Everything else is in pots. Our back garden is paved so DH lifted a couple of of short rows of slabs and dug our the heavy clay soil and we bought a couple of tons of top soil and several bags of rotted farmyard manure to dig into it which is where the beans will be going when they finally arrive.
The rest of it we've planted flowers but they're really tiny at the moment as only been in a few weeks!

Am I ok drinking my lime PLJ would anyone know? I love it with soda water it says it's less than 5calories per 25ml.1

Yes I would think so maz. I assume it's Pure Lime Juice (the original was Pure Lemon Juice) with soda water, both of which are Free. Assuming you use 25ml it would be Free, if you double that then it should be synned at 0.5 syn (I suspect SW would say) but don't think I'd bother!

Morning all! Hope you all had a good weekend (definitely sounds like it with all the pork roasts going on!) I managed to finish week 5 of my workout program on Saturday (burnt almost 500 calories in the 45 minutes) and then we went for a 5 mile walk in the afternoon along the canal and round a fishing lake. Definitely got my share of vitamin D! Managed to stick to plan over the weekend and it's paid off as I've weighed in this morning and lost 2.5 pounds! Feeling really good and motivated now and I think it's because I've stopped thinking about the bigger picture. Yes it would be nice to be at target for our anniversary in October but if I keep thinking that I need to lose a pound a week to get there, then that's too much pressure. So I'm just going to take each day (or each meal in some cases!) at a time and just see what happens, adjusting as needed. I think the exercise is definitely helping and is probably a habit that's here to stay (hopefully!) So with all that in mind, here's to Monday:
B - Porridge (HEB oats, 1/2 HEA unsweetened almond milk), strawberries, blueberries, 1tsp sweet freedom choc pot (1 syn)
L - Potato, carrot and courgette fritters, poached egg
D - Chinese Style chicken curry (sauce is made with butternut squash and courgette among other things), beansprouts, onion, peas, boiled rice
S - cups of tea with 1/2 HEA milk throughout the day, and then apples, clementines and popcorn (3.5 syns) to snack on if needed
Hope you all have a lovely day - best get on with some work!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20171 -
Well done ruby, 2.5lb is a great loss. I'm the same as you it's far better to think of the plan as a day to day thing rather than putting pressure on yourself to lose X amount by such and such a date. When I was getting to target I wouldn't even set a mini target as I just felt pressured and ended up not sticking to plan so after the first few weeks I said I wasn't happy with setting a target and would just go with the flow and it worked for me.
You're doing really well with the exercising plan too. We finally managed to get out for a walk yesterday without the local beach being too busy. There were still lots of people but they weren't walking around just sitting in groups on the beach (certainly not much SD going on!).
Today's plan:
B - mushroom & bacon omelette - P; S
L - garlic mushrooms & mini roasties - S; F; 1.5
D - BBQ at DD1s - I'm taking low fat sausages & burgers with me (which she actually asked me to buy after trying them at my house!) so I'll probably have a sausage and a burger and a WM roll (which I'll also take with me!) plus salad - HEB; S; 1.5
HEA - milk
HEB - WM roll
Syns - half fat creme fraische 1.5; sausage 1; burger 0.5
Tried to put food into the planner and can't work out how to put in a half syn - it won't accept 0.5; 1/2 or half! Anyone any idea how to add my butchers burger at 0.5 syn each?

Great loss ruby
Welcome Mike
maman - thank you for the advice. Have never done the syn bank - will give that a try this week.
I’m loving all the homegrown veg. Shame I didn’t get my arris in gear at the start of lockdown. We have a solitary tomato plant - lots of
flowers but no fruit yet.5k run this morning - got up at 5.20am(!) and went back to bed for another hour lol.B - 2 weetabix (HEB), skimmed milk (HEA)
L - tuna, lettuce, tomatoes, beetroot
D - sweet chilli and garlic pork, stir fry veg, noodles. I’m using a pouch sauce from Aldi. Please would someone check syn value if they can?
Snacks - Apple x 2 (bananas are too green still)
Have a good day all

OMG was going to use 2 pouches for five of us. Will use one and see how far it stretches. I don’t like stir fry too sloppy thankfully! Thank you for checking
This was lunch - used tsp of light mayo and some balsamic vinegar for the tuna (1).Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1 -
I use just some soy sauce, some fish sauce and some 5 spice on my stir fry. If you need a bit more sauce can add some water.
Lunch didn't work out too well! Potatoes weren't cooked enough so they'll be fried up tomorrow for lunch probably. The mushrooms were cooked but for some reason the creme fraische split - it was similar to when you try to use yoghurt as a sauce and forget to take it off the heat!
At least I know the sausages and burger will be cooked properly as DD1's partner is a chef!
