Respect CTWD. You can do this. 👏

Coxy, sadly they don't sell Smash in Aldi AFAIK. I buy it in Sainsburys or Tesco. My favourite is a very cheap own brand one from Tesco. It's really coarse and granular. It's in a pouch about 25p but I haven't seen it since lockdown. ☹️

I make a good sauce that goes well with meatballs. It's what I use for patatas bravas, quite hot and spicy. It's an onion with a tin of tomatoes, tsp of sweetener, tsp of chilli flakes (to taste) , clove of crushed garlic then stir a tbsp of balsamic in just before serving.

I did the swede & carrot mash earlier. That's portioned up and in the freezer. Tomorrow I'm planning to do a veggie chilli to keep the freezer well stocked. 🙂

From the price, it sounds as if it could be like the cheap Tesco one. I'd nip to Asda if only I wouldn't have to queue. ☹️

Supposed to be the hottest day of the year today - it was warm enough yesterday for me.

Went and saw our eldest DD and DGD yesterday.  It was lovely to see them as haven't seen them since before we went on holiday at the beginning of March!  Our youngest is coming to see us next Sunday for the day and our DGS may even come with her and her partner (he doesn't usually as he's autistic and doesn't like change).  Haven't seen them since Christmas Day!  Can't believe it's nearly 6 months!

I'm going shopping this morning so will add instant mash to my list.  I'm going into the local town so will have a look to see what the queues are like at Mr Ts but if they're anything like they have been then I won't be going in!  I've only been in once since the start of lockdown.  The queues have been horrendous.  I prefer to travel to the next town where I do the vast majority of the shopping in the Food Warehouse and then just a basket shop in Morries for what I can't get in there.

My consultant sent me the code to download the new magazine yesterday - not as good as last months.  Don't think there's a single recipe in it that I want to try, although I've only had a glance through it.  I've downloaded it onto my tablet which DH is using at the moment as his iPad has had to go back (under guarantee fortunately) as he knocked it onto the floor and the screen's broken.

Ended yesterday on 11.5 Syns so that's now 5 days completely on plan!  Haven't done that since the very start way back in July 2010 when I started!

    Today's plan:

    B - Spinach, tomato & mushroom omelette
    L - sausage & onion sandwich
    D - Slow cooked cottage pie (from freezer - last month's magazine); Brussels, peas - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - brown sauce 1; butter 3.5

Denise well done on staying on plan thats brilliant :) and thanks for the syns for the natural yoghurt i didnt think they would be much so wont worry too much about it
Bubbs thanks for the recipe i will have a look for the ingredients this week maybe and have a go with them because they look lovely!
Maman i dont save my syns as such but i like to have low syn days so if i fancy a chocolate or crisps on an evening i can have it...last night it was a packet of discos 7.5syns i changed my  tea as i needed to do a work meeting i forgot about so had a pasta n sauce with an apple afterwards (3syns) so i finished yesterday on 13 syns quite high for me but worth it!
I did my weigh in and only lpst 1lb...i say that because it was my first week and usually thats when you lose the most but i did have a truely terrible day friday and a bad Saturday so i am going to carry on and try my best for this week!
Todays plans include a good tidy in the house my sister is coming for a socially distant visit and doing dds school work as the weather is changing after today i am making the most of it and being in the garden as much as i can...one of my neighbours already are by the sounds of the banging and scraping...its a bit early in my opinion but them again most around here are very selfish at the best of times 🤨🤨thats my moan for today!

    Todays food plans
    B. Nat yoghurt with strawberries apple and banana (0.5)
    L. Burgers on bbq with salad and cheese (hea) and maybe some sw chips
    D. Chicken wraps with salad and cheese (hea)
Snacks will be my new favourite carrot sticks
    Have a great day everyone!x

Emz if you use the Weight Watchers wraps you can have that as HEB so can save some syns.  Normal wraps are 9 Syns!!!  I usually keep some of the WW ones in the freezer!

Do you make dips to have with your carrot sticks or just eat them on their own?  There are loads of Free dips you can make using quark, yoghurt or fromage frais.

    Enjoy the sunshine today!

Sorry Emz forgot to say well done for the loss of lb.  Never say "just" a lb is good and it's in the right direction!  I'm one of those who usually lose 0.5lb at a time - even in my first week!

Bit of a change of plan at lunchtime for HEB - only had large loaf in the freezer so 2 slices so that's HEB + 2 syns, on the plus side it's -1 syn as decided against brown sauce; decided it wasn't necessary with caramelised onions.  Bonus was DH cooked the sausages and onions on the BBQ so didn't even have to cook myself!

Don't you ever get fed up with salad bubbs?  You seem to eat it lunch and dinner every day.  I'm not as keen on salad as that, much prefer vegetables!

Same here denise. I have almost all my Speed from vegetables. I rarely eat fruit or salad. I try to have as many different ones as possible  every week. I think I counted 10 different ones for Sunday dinner this week. But then I could ask why I don't get fed up with cold meat, bubble & squeak and pickles at lunchtimes. 🤣🤣🤣

Well done on your pound EMZ. Id gladly take that. 👋👋👋

I've put a veggie chilli in the SC. It's got 3 different cans of beans (all P) plus heaps of Speed veg. I freeze it in single portions, so I can double up for dinner or have it for lunch myself with a JP. 🙂

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit, baked beans (F), fried egg (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- ham (P), fried vegetables and pickles (S)
D - Aldi sausages, mashed potatoes and parsnips (F), carrots, onions, runner beans, cauli, broccoli, cabbage, kale (S)
    Syns - gravy 3?
