Couscous is from C0$tco. Large tub - enough to last me until 2021 as I only use a scoopful each time. It's got a really nice kick to it. How frustrating having to come home from holiday. I've not tried rum n ginger beer - sounds interesting....Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings2

CTWD , That's a huge step target you've set yourself and bike riding! Well done!
I noticed you'd synned some milk for your tea. Unless you had masses of cheese at lunchtime you should have enough to have HEA milk. There are 2 HEAs every day in the plan now if you want them and you can split them (part cheese/part milk) . Many of us often don't bother as we're used to just the one but it is useful if you're having a recipe with cheese or like lattes. You can have 30g of cheddar for a HEA or even more if you have reduced fat.
I couldn't find that couscous on the website coxy but if it's only a spice mix with the couscous then it should be free.
What I did find were syn values for Costco Food Court. I'm just flagging this up in case anyone is tempted to eat there. A jacket potato with tuna mayo (no butter) is 34 syns!! That's amazing. It must be tuna in oil and lashings of full fat mayo. The only one that was free was a JP with baked beans. A fajita was 29.5 syns. It's amazing how much healthier we can make things with just a few tweaks.
I've done my meal plan and food shop for the week. Aldi's queue was longer than usual today, took 30 minutes to get in and 30 minutes to shop! No problem while I'm basking in the sun though. Maybe they'll install patio heaters for the winter! The only thing I didn't buy was a cauliflower. They're really poor quality at the moment. I'll have to pay more but I'll look in our little Coop tomorrow and see what they have.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, baked beans (F), fried egg, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- JP (F) with cottage cheese, ham (P), spring onion, beetroot (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, mushrooms (S)
Syns- weekend wine

That's a shame about the cauliflower maman as usually Aldi are quite good for fruit and veg, even if it doesn't always last as long as it does from some other places. I quite often buy veg from our local farm shop which are quite reasonably priced but obviously nowhere near as cheap as Aldi or Lidl! They're certainly on a par with the big SMs though.
I've just done my June menu plan - wonder how many things will get changed this month! There were loads of changes over the month this month. I will be using up quite a lot of my HM Ready Meals which will give me a bit of room in the freezer to stock up with some more meat - there's not much meat apart from pork in there at the moment so quite a lot of pork this month so at least DH won't be moaning about the amount of chicken we're eating!

Dinner was lemon and pepper haddock with JP, broccoli and carrots. Family had salmon but not enough for five of us. Had some cheese on the JP for my second HEA.Cross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings1

Unusual for you to have a jacket potato bubbs! I've never tried a burger in a mushroom "bun". Must be quite awkward to eat! Would definitely be a knife and fork job, don't think you could eat it like a normal burger.

Yes it is a knife and fork job, but i like it and don't eat bread as a ruleSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:1 -
Strangely I don't like burger in a bun. I might enjoy the M&S rolls but I think it harks back to those tasteless buns they have in places like McDonald's, not that I've had one for years. I haven't even had a burger recently, must put them on the meal plan. 🤔🍔1

Final count: 18261 steps. I had an after dinner energy spurt and just felt the need to go out on my own in the beautiful evening - no dog, kids or DH in tow.
Joe Denise: You're right - I looked at the amount of rhubarb and had some prunes instead. :-) A crumble was made for the others.
Maman: Yes, it's a big target but we have a dog who likes a few short walks so can easily fit in 8-9000 over the gentle strolls. I feel I need something to aim for to get me striding out. We're very fortunate to live 2 minutes walk from a woodland in one direction, and 5 minutes from a lake in the other, so plenty of opportunity to stretch our legs. We often just take the kids/dogs for a lap around the lake to 'reset'. It's only 1k and completely flat so good for them to scooter/cycle round.
I keep forgetting the extra HEXA - when I used to go to group a few years ago it was only one and I can't quite get my head around adding another. I don't often have cheese and usually just have my milk in drinks.
Bubbs: Ooh - I like the idea of the mushroom burger! I have mince and big mushrooms and am also generally avoiding bread. Definitely going to try that over the weekend!
