milann said:I bought lamb too but use it for a Jamie Oliver recipe from his 5 ingredients book. Lamb, chickpeas and preserved lemon....off the top of my head I think it’s ras en halout and I can’t remember the last ingredient. It is delicious and makes loads to freeze.
Off to golf in a couple of hours so need to go and sort breakfast shortly as don't want to leave it too late. Today's plan:
B - eggs on toast - HEB; P
L - LO leek and barley soup - P; S; F
D - Caribbean jerk stew; rice 'n' peas - P; S; F (managed to get some ox cheek in Morries a while ago so will be using that)
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - none planned but have Ryvita, cereal bars etc plus 2nd HEA if I want something else
Have a good day everyone

Morning all! As bubbs said jax, it's just a roast - I make sure to write a list with the time that things need to go into the oven etc and set a bunch of alarms on my phone labelled with what it is I'm supposed to be doing so I don't forget anything
It's only ever been me at DH for Christmas since we got married but I still feel a bit pressured to get it right
Also got our gammon joint out the freezer to start defrosting so I can put it in the slow cooker tomorrow. My MIL usually comes here on Christmas Eve and loves the gammon I cook - literally put it in the slow cooker on low for a few hours, covered in coke cola. As she wont be coming she's going to attempt to cook some herself and is just obsessing over getting it right - there have been many calls to DH asking him to check with me again if she's going to be cooking it correctly, I'm not sure how much simpler it could be
Do like the sound of the lamb shanks though denise.
Just a latte and a clementine for breakfast here this morning as I wasn't feeling too hungry. Lunch is a chicken salad to use some bits up in the fridge and then dinner is some HM chicken curry that I found in the freezer. Will make some mushroom rice to go with it and then that's the mushrooms gone.

Morning all, countdown to Christmas is now on, walking with a friend tonight then nipping to the nearest town to pick up some last minute bits. When I get home it will have to be something quick as I will be later back so I’m thinking a tuna baked potato with salady bits.
I’m off from tomorrow night up until the 4th of January, I’m actually going to write a list of jobs as I’m finding myself getting increasingly bored – eeekk
I can see some wallpaper being stripped. Dog getting the legs walked off him weather permitting

I write myself a plan too ruby. I think it's mainly because of the timing as we have Christmas dinner much earlier than we'd normally eat a Sunday roast. I've promised DD1 that I'll have their meal ready for collection about 2 p.m. I'm thinking that I'll do our greens and finish off the roast potatoes and parsnips after she's gone. It's not very mse to cook some of the veg separately but it'll be more relaxed. That's assuming I can buy the veg I want. We could be having tinned carrots! 🤣
That's a good idea to have a list of jobs klew. I think I need to do something similar. I'm bored with all this too. I was saying to DH this morning, that I feel the world has got smaller as there are so many social things that aren't allowed. Normally, I'm glad to be at home on Christmas Day because of all the parties we've been to in the lead up but not this year. Even the walks have lost their appeal because we've done them to death since March. Thank goodness I'm out this afternoon. I need to cheer up!!😀
I'm going dancing this afternoon. There are likely to be mince pies on offer. I have enough syns to have some if I want! It's a good feeling but I'm not that keen on mince pies. 🤔 I might treat myself to some of the 70% chocolate with a cuppa later. That's 7 syns a bar so at least I'll enjoy it. I'm not opening the Christmas chocolates yet. Sadly, I don't really feel any thinner despite the angelic week. Perhaps the dancing will help! 😁
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried eggs, bacon (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- ham (P), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- chilli con carne (P,S), brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)

Hi all
Had my colonoscopy on Thursday, just waiting on biopsy results! After all the prep I lost a measly .5lb so not fair 😤. Bloated bad at the moment as not ‘been’ since 🥴. One extreme to another 🤬
Avoiding the C word here, trying to get away with no decs as well (don’t judge difficult time for me). Usually have Bruv in law over but as he is in a disability care home he’s locked down so just us 3 which will be nice (5 if you count the dogs). We aren’t doing presents this year as hubby furloughed again, must admit it’s been less stressful for me not having to think about it. Nice bit of beef for us as we don’t like turkey.
Whatever you are doing try to enjoy and stay safe all 🥰Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Sounds like a lovely plan for Friday TIE. Hope the results come back soon and that the "digestive" issues sort themselves out soon. I find taking magnesium supplements helps in that department (when I remember to take them).
Just had a delivery of some cakes that DH ordered for me as a little surprise from a baker in Belfast who I love and who almost ended up making our wedding cake. In there is a Stroopwaffle blondie, Bailey's salted caramel brownie, carrot cake and raspberry and coconut cake. She did a similar thing for halloween and I managed to snag a box then and the portions this time seem even bigger, there's even some candy canes and toffees as well. No idea on syns obviously but will try and not eat it all in one go!

We don't do decs or presents either TIE. There seems very little point in decs as far as either of us are concerned but having said that I love to see the lights people put up outside their houses. There are a couple of houses near where I live where they really go to town with the lights.
Hope you get your results soon and the medics can actually work out how to help you.
The cakes sound lovely ruby but as you no idea on syns but it's Christmas - it's a bit like birthdays syns don't count, LOL!
Golf this morning was awful - the ground was so wet that my trousers were soaked underneath my waterproof ones! I only hit a couple of good shots in the 9 holes! Also lost a couple of balls in the long grass.
Still it was good to get the last of my shopping done afterwards so no need to go near a shop until at least the end of the year, and hopefully after new year.

Afternoon all
TIE, hope you get the results soon and they are good x
Well i have had hair cut and eyebrows done , dropped my friends presents on the door and also took her birthday presents as i think we will be in lockdown in January. Went to the butchers to get a nice big fat juicy chicken, there was only 1 person in there! It's busier than that on a normal day 🤔
Oooo enjoy your cakes Ruby 😋😋😋
