No, still in Tier 2 here, not that were really taking advantage of it.  Fortunately the worst areas, at the moment, seem to be South East of London and we're South West. The changed Christmas advice won't affect us either as we hadn't planned to take advantage of the Christmas bubbles. Similarly the lockdown after Christmas, as it's like November rather than March, means my dancing classes should be able to carry on. We've got a class on Tuesday and then should e able to pick up again in January.  Of course, that will depend how the numbers go as advice seems to change daily.

DD1 called round today for a doorstep conversation. That's all we've done since March.  It's probably illegal as we're technically  in a private garden (at the front of the house so not very private! 😉)  but if I'm allowed to speak to the postman or the Amazon delivery driver I can't see the harm in it myself.  I gave her her birthday presents for tomorrow.  I've pottered about putting up my decorations today and the house looks lovely and festive. Your cake looks really lovely bubbs. I love marzipan (though I haven't touched my Christmas bars yet😇) but not that keen on icing.

I've never had much luck with SP either denise but I do feel virtuous when I have a carb free meal. I don't plan them though, they happen by accident like today's lunch. I don't think I've ever done a day. I think it all helps though jax as I've never understood the 'fill your boots' mantra for Free food. As far as I'm concerned, the more Free food you have the lower the overall percentage of Speed.

It's been an odd  day here, lurching between torrential rain and bright sunshine. It's raining now and I think it's going on all night. I'm not going anywhere though so not that bothered.

I got through yesterday evening with no wine syns. 😇 Very soon, I'll be having the first syns to pass my lips since the syn bank was refilled on Thursday morning.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk, raspberries (S)
L- veggie omelette (S,P), ham (P), beetroot and cornichons (S)
D- chicken stir fry (P,S) with noodles (F)
Syns- honey in sauce 2.5, weekend wine😁

Unfortunately I'm SE so in Tier 4.  Just had an email from the golf club to say they are closing until they've got further advice from Golf England with regard to the rules!  When I was watching it the rules seemed to say indoor leisure and non essential shops so hopeful that we'll get clarification in the next day or two as to whether we can or can't play.  We booked for Tuesday morning so now need to wait and see whether we can or can't play.

Enjoy your wine tonight maman!  I'm having a couple of G&Ts for a change from my usual rum and ginger beer, costs a bit more in syns - 6 rather than 5, although might go mad and have an extra one or two; would still be within syns but we'll see later.

Teir 2 here as well. Mums a bit upset that she won't see my brothers or her grandchildren over Christmas now but we've decided to have a giant family party as soon as we are allowed to make up for it. I'm going to try and arrange a 'drive-by' boxing day visit with my brothers to surprise her. Doesn't compare with actually spending time together but it's better than nothing.

Whose taking bets on a post Christmas lockdown?
    :AWhatever it is - I didn't do it!:A

Tier 4 here too denise.  We're literally 33 metres from a Tier 2 area and all our supermarkets are in Tier 2 so oh well.  I've cracked out the marmalade gin tonight to help get me through.  Haven't seen my parents since last Christmas and now don't know when we'll be seeing them again.  Oh well, have a virtual call with some friends soon where we're going to commiserate with each other (we're all in Tier 4 now :disappointed: )

Have managed to somewhat stick to plan today - had boiled eggs for breakfast and then have picked on cold meat and pickles all day and the just had a slice of pizza that DH ordered.  Hope everyone is staying safe.  See you all on Monday.

It sucks doesn't it ruby.  We've been sticking to the rules but still get lumbered with Tier 4 because others can't be bothered to stick to them - do doubt they'll still carry on as if nothing has changed.

I'm still within syns again today so a few more added to the "bank" but hopefully won't need them and will finally get a loss rather than an STS this week.  We've been in Tier 3 for ages now - think it's been 4 weeks now so the only difference is non essential shops have to close.  Not official yet but we've seen online that golf clubs have also got to close but the article I saw came from the Daily Mirror so not sure how true it actually is!

Jax that would be a nice surprise for your mum.
I can see my sister saying she is not coming, she is allowed too , but if she doesn't apart from the dogs she will be on her own :(

So Ruby are you not allowed to go to those shops? If not where do you get food etc from?
Denise actually thinking about it, sure he said all sporting and outdoor was to close

  • Tier 4 here also. Had a really busy day and didn’t eat, then got hit with the tier change and had to rush round delivering Christmas cakes. Could have done so much damage when I got home as I was so hungry, but had chicken cooking in the slow cooker, so managed to quickly cook some frozen green beans to have with it, hadn’t thought about an sp day, so bonus! Just noticed I have done 15,000 steps, quite surprised at that, just goes to show how many steps you do when you think you are not doing that much walking.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

bubbs what I heard was that all indoor leisure was to close.  The article I saw was wrong about golf clubs having to close!!!  Had an e-mail about half hour ago to say the club can stay open, having previously had one saying it was closing until further notice.  All bookings cancelled and now it has to be 2 players only or a couple plus one other and to rebook from 9pm.

DH went online to book at 9pm and booked us in again for Tuesday morning but it will be 2 minutes earlier than before!  So at least we can get some walking in - only problem is I've got to carry my golf bag so have had to take half my clubs out otherwise the bag will be too heavy to carry!  That's the trouble with being small and not very strong!
