Joedenise I think you’ve sent the rain this way.....it’s absolutely horrible out there. Heavy rain and windy.....I’m staying put all day. I should be steam cleaning my bathroom but I’ve become distracted....again 🤔🙄😂...Food looks good again Bubbs
I’ve always count wine as 30 syns for a bottle too.....it was what I’d been told when I started and I remember it. I usually count 7 1/2 syns as if we have a bottle it usually lasts me 2 days and I share with dh.I’ve just been discussing SW with my sil and we’ve both decided not to bother with group,s when the price goes up.....think we are going to try and motivate each other.January spends - £587.580 -
Afternoon all
Well I had my first weigh in and lost 5lb so I am very happy with that its a good start so just gotta keep it going.
Didn't have breakfast this morning as I was working a night shift last night so went straight to bed. Got up and went to group. Lunch was a chicken salad, a huge amount of salad too so I am learning 😊.
I'm taking mum to do the last of her Christmas shopping shortly then dinner is a beef casserole at mum and dads (I live alone so they are my support bubble).
Planning on doing a big speed food shop tomorrow as both lidl and Aldi will have new super 6s. Although I think this week they both have the same veg on offer I'll have to check.:AWhatever it is - I didn't do it!:A1 -
Well done jax that's a brilliant loss! Keep it up. You're right to up the Speed foods, particularly the veg.
milann I suspect there will be a lot of people who won't bother going back to group once the price goes up. I'm just glad I'm at target so I don't have to pay. I'm now getting into the habit of just weighing every 6-8 weeks so I can keep access to the website and app! I shall see where I am after 6 weeks which will be mid January and if I'm still in target (hopefully I will be) then I'll weigh, if not then I'll give it another couple of weeks to hopefully get back there. I'm not planning on going mad over Christmas and New Year but of course I'm not going to be an angel either!

Well done Jax, That's a fab start
So many people are said they are not going back, 1) because of price increase 2) because they feel they are not getting value for money when group is closed .
I do miss group, it was "me" time and i think you do learn alot from other members, saying that i have not been since national lockdown!Sealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance::dance:0 -
I agree with you bubbs about the "me" time when I go to group but to be honest I also thought it helped keep me on track but of course lockdown has proved that I don't really need that aspect of it! So definitely not going to go back to every week like I did before lockdown.

That's a brilliant loss for your first week back jax. Well done!! Definitely worth getting started before Christmas. 😊 Is your mum on board with SW? Beef casserole is a good choice but it might have oil or flour or even wine in it!!😉
I thought I remembered wine being 30 syns denise. It's so irritating, all this messing around with syn values. It occurred to me that some of the products I bought last week, like cottage cheese, may not be the same as my usual Aldi brand but can't be bothered to check as it's done now. I used the second of my three vouchers today and I'll do our weekly shop there on Friday and then it's back to Aldi for me for most of my shop. Today I bought store cupboard stuff for us (DH's muesli, cornichons, porridge oats) and some things the food bank is short of. I bought DH some Bratwurst too as he's missing out on the usual Christmas market!
I need to plan carefully from Friday through to about Tuesday or Wednesday then I'll do another shop to see us over Christmas. Definitely need to do some reverse meal planning as I'd like to have a fairly empty fridge before I buy in the Christmas fresh stuff.
I think SW have been really greedy with this increase. 20% in one hit, at a time when the service is at its worst, is very poor. It'll be interesting to see how they are affected by it especially as they're now more expensive than WW. I don't think it'll show immediately as some people have put the increase off for a few weeks by buying a countdown. I wonder if the usual vouchers will appear in the January magazines? I don't feel attached to my group socially as it's not the original consultant or any of the same people so it suits me fine just to call in every few weeks. When and if things get back to normal 😉, the current timing won't suit me anyway as it clashes with my walking group
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, baked beans (F), HEB toast, HEA1 milk, fried egg, bacon (P)
L- beef stew (P,F,S)
D- SW Bolognese (P,S), tagliatelle (F), HEA2 Parmesan

Yes i like Aldi better than Lidl Maman, but i did buy some "lazy garlic" from Lidl 99p which is a good price, and i have never seen it in AldiSealed pot challenge number 003 £350 for 2015, 2016 £400 Actual£345, £400 for 2017 Actual £500:T:T £770 for 2018 £1295 for 2019:j:j spc number 22 £1,457Stopped Smoking 22/01/15:D:D::dance::dance:- 5 st 1 1/2lb :dance:0

I agree with you about the timing of the price rise. When you think about it it's probably the worst possible time for them to increase the price especially with such a massive increase.
You're lucky maman in that you have a choice of groups living in a town but because I'm quite rural (8 miles from town) there is only the one consultant for a daytime group. There is another in the next village (about 5 miles away) but it is Tuesday evening and as I won't drive at night there's no way I'm going there!
The only other daytime group is in the next nearest town on a Wednesday morning which doesn't suit me as I'm usually in that town on a Tuesday!
I think you're right about a lot of people buying Countdowns, in fact on our Facebook page my consultant is pushing them to avoid the increase so I'm sure she's pretty sure she's going to lose quite a few people.0
