I'm egg mad myself my go to meal when I can't think what to cook is omelette.
I am lucky in that I'll eat pretty much anything (except olives or avocado :/ ) so I can try different meals and recipes to keep the variety up.
My main stumbling block the is the willpower to stop snacking in work as there is always someone bring sweets and cakes and the likes in. Obviously thats increased ten fold with Christmas being round the corner.

Have you tried sweet omelette? nice for a pudding with greek yoghurt and fruit or breakfast?
Yes i eat most things i also dislike olives & avocado , but i don't eat rice/pasta/potatoes , if i have potatoes in any form it's 6/8 chips.

I can imagine at work being bad :(

Welcome jax. Great idea to get started before Christmas. Well done. 😊

I think we all have to find a way to make SW work for us otherwise we'll give up and want to go back to the 'normal' eating that made us fat in the first place. 🤣

I think planning and speed food are the most important things to remember. That can be doing a meal plan or just buying in the right ingredients. I make a plan for dinners for a week. For lunch I have lots of leftovers or omelettes or jacket potatoes. I have mostly cooked breakfasts too and, like bubbs, i rarely snack as my meals are huge. I have very little Speed food at breakfast so aim for 50% at other meals.

I have almost all of the 105 syns each week. I bank most of them for weekends and use them for booze. 😉

    welcome Jax!

Im a bit of a newbie too but im trying my best, I find it easier when working to batch cook stuff with lots of speed in it, like chilli, Bolognese or curry and have it on the lunchtime but with no extra carbs.  I alternate this time of year with soup but I do get bored with soup if its every day

    Today

    B: fruit and fibre milk

    L: Bolognese

D : Baked potato, roasted peppers mushrooms etc etc and gammon steak

I haven’t weighed myself for a good while and just been doing what I can whilst having house/kitchen renovations. I weighed this morning and have lost 3lb. I’m more than happy with that as I’ve eaten more junk food in these last couple of months than I have the last couple of year but in between and when I could I’ve been giving SW a token nod
    Today -
breakfast - poached egg heb toast
dinner - beans hea cheese and salad
tea - pork chop, fri lite roast potatoes, sprouts and carrots gravy - 1 syn (was going to have this yesterday but it didn’t happen)
There will be cake for video call with gdd as she is 4 today.....
    January spends - £587.58

Morning all, a dry one again so another load of washing on the line, jumpers this time.  DH has gone to play golf so I'm home alone for a change - it's great not having the tv blaring all day!  Have done most of my housework and just need to go and make soup for lunch but need to do that soon as my sister will be calling me in about a hour or so and then I'll be on the phone to her for an hour or thereabouts.  I'm probably going to be eating lunch on my own today for a change too.  I'm not waiting for DH because he probably won't be home until at least 2pm and that's far too late for me to eat lunch - I'd be starving by then!

Welcome Jax, as maman said it's a good idea joining SW before Christmas as it gives you a bit of a chance to get back into the swing of things before the big event!  I've been more of less sticking to plan but I seem to have plateaued near the top end of target and it's really annoying but hoping for a loss this week as haven't used all my syns (for a change!).

maman you asked if I count a bottle of wine as 30 syns and the answer is Yes I do; that's what it was when I started SW so that's what it is now as far as I'm concerned.  Having said that you've probably noticed I don't drink much wine these days I'm more likely to have a couple of rum & ginger beers!  Far less syns of course but I do worry about the amount of sweetener I'm having as it now means I'm drinking fizzy quite a lot whereas before I very rarely did.

    Today's plan:

    B - boiled eggs; 1 slice of bread - P; 0.5 HEB; 2
    L - 2 pea soup - P; S; F
    D - LO Irish hotpot, green beans, broccoli  - P; S; F
    S - 2 Ryvita; Primula Light

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - Primula Light
HEB - 1 slice of bread; 2 Ryvita
    Syns - 5g butter 2

  • Morning all!  Well done on the loss milann and welcome jax!  Agree with klew that batch cooking works well.  I always have some frozen peppers in the freezer to chuck into pasta or curry dishes to both bulk out and add speed.

Did another work out last night but it completely wiped me out afterwards.  Didn't end up getting out of bed till gone 8 this morning so must have had about 10 hours sleep last night :open_mouth:  Had a lovely hazelnut coffee this morning and just about to have a couple of boiled eggs and some melon for breakfast.  Lunch will be mushroom soup again and dinner is gammon steak with leek and potato gratin and some other mixed veg on the side which I'm really looking forward too

Hope you all have a good day!

Very well done on the 3lbs loss milann. That's great. Great motivation  to go on to another this side of the break. 😊
That's good that your evening workout resulted in a good night's sleep ruby. Bonus! 😊
