In that case ruby I would just try to keep fairly low syn for the rest of the week to help balance out the extra in this one meal.

It’s been the worse few days during the kitchen renovations.....we have no sink or worktops and expected the fitter to come and fit the quartz tops we are having soon after the builder had put the base units in......BUT....it’s going to be 1st December before they come to do the worktops.I had my 1st SW meal yesterday- Chinese rice with veg and chicken ( can’t remember it’s official name) it was quite nice but dh had over cooked it a tad so the rice was mushy. Tasted good though. So at least I managed 1 meal on plan.
I was really looking forward to the kitchen being finished this week.....not that much longer though. I’m ready to get cooking again....January spends - £587.581 -
joedenise said:I'm going to try to stick to the no more than 15 syns recommended by SW - wish me luck! I ended on 12.5 yesterday as DH got the shortbread fingers out again but I was good and only had ONE - that's got to be a record!
I'm going to ignore the Skinny Syrup syns too. I only have it on porridge a couple of times a week. It's the same with sweetener. The only time I use a large amount is in braised red cabbage. I sprinkle it fairly freely on each layer but then I get loads of portions from each batch so it really isn't worth worrying about. I need to make some more this weekend.😋
Enjoy your meal ruby. It's good to have a little (or even a lot😁) of what you fancy now and again. One thing not to be advised is feeling deprived so it's better to have it and put it behind you then get fed up.
Glad that wasn't your mealtime when you posted last night bubbs. When do the new shifts start from? Is it tonight?
I'm having more of the same for lunch today. On paper it looks as if I've had 4 identical lunches this week but it's surprising how different bubble & squeak tastes made from a mash base compared to the hash type meal I make when we've had roast potatoes or no potatoes LO at all.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), HEB toast, HEA milk, scrambled eggs (P)
L- ham (P), bubble & squeak (F,S), pickles (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli, sugar snaps (S)
Syns- HP sauce 1, weekend wine😊1 -
Cross posted milann. That's awful having to wait another week or more to get the kitchen sorted. Just keep plodding and do what you can. It's good to hear a ready meal tasted nice. Good to have a SW friendly stand-by. 😊1

maman yes I do mean up to 15 syns a day and not using the usual syn bank! Wish me luck. I don't think it will be too bad because it means I can have a couple of rums a day (or even 4 if needs be, LOL!). I'm not drinking wine at the moment as I know I drink too much in a day if DH isn't sharing the bottle and at the moment he is on one of the antibiotics which it actually states no alcohol at all. He's going to be on these for 3 weeks (so another 2 weeks to go); then 4 weeks off, rinse and repeat for the foreseeable future but no idea how long this is going to be for! This is his second lot of 3 weeks.
milann that's horrible being without a kitchen. I think I'd really struggle as I actually like to cook unlike a lot of people in my group who seem to live on the SW ready meals!!! I've only tried, I think, 3 of them and only like one which was the braised beef and root veg mash which is easy to cook myself anyway and much cheaper too!
Just finished our soup - I ended up making a spicy lentil & mixed veg soup but I think I added a bit too much spice! I ended up having to add some yoghurt to cool it down a bit!
Have a good weekend everyone.

Yes, definitely good luck with your week of daily syns denise. Go for it! 😊
I think we all have our own ways of going back to basics when we want to see a loss. I find going under syns a bit helps me. I don't think it's cutting down on the 105 so much as being absolutely certain that I haven't gone over because of guestimating.
My easiest way is when I go out dancing on a Saturday night. I don't drink because I'm driving myself and busy so I don't miss it and supper is always a shared salad so not many syns there. Unfortunately that hasn't happened for months. The other way (not so easy) is to have a two day weekend instead of 3 and reserve weekend wine for Saturday and Sunday only. I think I'm maintaining well at the moment which is fine but I'll really push myself when I know my actual weight. If that happens in two weeks time (fingers crossed) then I should be in target over Christmas so I can enjoy myself as eating and drinking is about the only thing we can definitely to look forward to. 😉1 -

Funnily enough I'm actually looking forward to it! I think it makes it a bit easier with DH not drinking because he's often the one that gets me another drink even when I've said No and then of course I drink it because It would be a waste not too! He really does try to sabotage me at times!
Looking forward to cod & chips tonight - not had that for ages but went to the fishmongers and bought some fresh which I think always tastes so much better than anything frozen.
Have done my December menu plan already as wanted to make sure I use food I've already got in the freezer as much as possible. DH has decided that as it will just be us then he'd rather have some Barnsley chops than a joint on Christmas Day - that way of course he still gets his roast dinner on the Sunday after!

We always have a roast in the winter on a Sunday and would no doubt have one just after Christmas

Morning all. Seems unbelievable that it's not very long until Christmas. This year will definitely be very different! We've decided no matter what the rules are at that time we are going to stay safe in our own homes and we will get together to have a family "Christmas in July" (although it might not be July in reality!). The last time we were on our own for Christmas was quite a few years ago when we went to France in the motorhome but that is so different to being on our own at home!
Washing on, just waiting for it to finish so I can hang it out on the line for a good blow. It's not forecast to rain here although it's not particularly warm and the wind is quite cold but hopefully it'll dry OK.
I finished yesterday on the full 15 syns so I'm still doing OK.
Today's plan:
B - fry up with sausages - P; S; F; 2
L - Welsh rarebit - HEA; HEB; P; F
D - Tuna and sweetcorn flan, chips, salad - P; S; F; 9.5
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
Syns - 2 low fat sausages 2; 1/4 flan made with pastry 9.5
