I tried Lo Dough years ago and didn't rate it.  It's about the same thickness as a wrap.  I tried it as "pastry" but not for me or DH!  I only bought a 2 pack to try it and that was about a fiver so definitely not worth it as far as I'm concerned.  I'd rather not have a pie than use that again.  If I really want pastry then I might use some filo but it's not something we have often (yes I know I made pastry yesterday but it's not something I'm going to do very often!).  DH enjoyed the pastry but didn't really like the flan - I used to make it when the kids were little as it was the only way they'd eat tuna and last night he told me he never really liked it even back then!  We've been married nearly 50 years and he's only just told me!  I wouldn't have bothered making the flan if he'd actually told me he didn't like it - it's not like he didn't know that's what I was going to make as he'd looked at the menu plan and saw what we were having.

    Today's plan:

    B - stuffed mushrooms - HEA2; S; F
L - low fat burger, onions in WM roll - HEB; S; 0.5
D - toad in the hole, roast potatoes, roasted veg, cabbage, green beans, peas - S; F; 7.5

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - wholemeal roll
Syns - low fat burger 0.5; sausages 2; flour 4.5; skimmed milk 1;  7 to spare if I want something else!

    Have a good day everyone.

Denise i wouldn't use as a pastry would use for pizza but as it's not thick i won't waste the money on them

I'd definitely say they're not worth the money but lots of people obviously do use them otherwise they'd have gone out of business!

Well we're not going to be adding to Lo Dough's profits! 🤣

I portioned up the Bolognese (4x2) and red cabbage (5x2) this morning so that's all in the freezer. Masses of Speed in with the Bolognese as only used 500g of mince. The rest of the pack made 6 large burgers.

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit squash, baked beans (F), bacon, fried egg (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
    L - veggie omelette (P, S), ham (P), beetroot (S)
D- beef in 'red wine' (P, S), SW roast potatoes (F), many veg (S)
    Syns - cornflour 1, weekend wine 😉

    Half a pound… ON

annoyed at myself but I will try harder this week, I know exactly where I went wrong and that was last weekend spending time with ben AND jerry plus other naughties!!

I have made extra soup so its lentil soup and chicken for lunches and tonight I’m going to portion out less cereal for the week, I want to see improvement on the scales! Unfortunately I’m isolating for three days, Friday, Saturday and Sunday for a small op on the Monday so lack of exercise is going to have me climbing the walls but what can you do. I’m going to meal plan the life out of those three days so I don’t overeat!

    B fruit and fibre, milk

    L: chicken soup

    D : beef tagliatelle

Beef tagliatelle will be packed with speed and easy on the mince, as is the lentil soup. Going to go 75/25 beef/tagliatelle too see if that helps with weigh in too

  • Morning all!  Mother in Law was asking what our plans are for Christmas yesterday.  We usually see her the weekend before Christmas and then have Christmas day on our own and then see my parents on boxing day.  Luckily both our families live in the same town so we've decided to drive up there on one day and do doorstep deliveries of gifts.  If the weather isn't wet then we'll meet up with each side of the family in local parks to have a coffee and a chat but otherwise it will be a case of dropping bags at the end of the driveway and shouting some greetings from the car.  Will certainly be a little bit different but in a way I'm also looking forward to my first Christmas where I don't have to work *fingers crossed* in 17 years!

It's been an interesting weekend - Friday evening my left ankle started swelling and it appears I made the tendon's in my foot very angry!  Hadn't even been for a run or done a workout that day so no idea what happened.  Have spent most of the weekend on the sofa resting it apart from yesterday when I went food shopping.  DH bought me "medicinal cake" on Friday night when he popped out to pick up some more milk for himself so as a result I've put on 2 lbs this week.  I know it will come off - just need to stop eating quite so many treats!

Ankle is feeling so much better today but still taking it easy.  Will go for a walk round the block later on just to stop myself from seizing up completely.  Breakfast was a weird mix of some bacon medallions, a fried egg and some leftover cauliflower from the roast yesterday that I fried up with the bacon.  Went down surprisingly well with an oat milk latte!  Having some korean stew for lunch (kimchi, tofu, pork in a spicy broth) which will make enough for about 3 portions and then stir fry for dinner with noodles.

Hope everyone is staying safe and has a good day.

Afternoon all.  Sorry klew and ruby about your gains but at least you know where the gains have come from.

klew you said you are going to cut down on the amount of cereal but how much are you actually having?  You can have 40g as HEB so if you are already having that amount there is no need to cut back.  Are you having your syns?  You still need to have some as your body can go into "starvation" mode if you don't have enough to eat.

ruby hope your ankle improves quickly.  It's weird how it just swelled for no apparent reason unless you damaged it the previous day but it didn't actually affect your ankle immediately.

Had to take the car into get new tyres this morning so have had all season ones put on as we live on an unmade road and if it snows we really need to have good tyres so that we don't get stuck indoors!  It's going in for service and MOT tomorrow morning.

    Today's plan:

    B - eggs on toast - HEB; P
    L - carrot & lentil soup - P; S; F
D - cottage pie using savoury mince from the freezer, cabbage, peas - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
Syns - none planned but may have a couple of Ryvita with cheese - HEA2; 3 syns

So even though I’ve not got a kitchen I was pleased to loose 1lb. I’ll keep trying to do as many meals as I can on plan.
breakfast - crumpet with chees and tomato....not weighed as an hea as I’ve no idea where my scales are - but a guesstimate. 11 syns for crumpets (I think they’re 5 1/2 each)
dinner - heb beef and tomato sandwich - 2 syns of spread
tea - corned beef stew with red cabbage. Approx 2 syns for the corned beef
I’ve been slightly more active today up and down stairs taking things to the dishwasher to clean in readiness for the cupboards being up next week. Lots of trips up and down as I can’t carry a lot yet....good body magic 👍👍
I never actually tried the lo dough so not sure how thick it is.
