Glad to see you back gts and so pleased you enjoyed your break. Well done on the Body Magic!😊

I think STS during lockdown is quite an achievement denise. Like you, I came in under syns for the week. It has to help even if it doesn't show on a weekly basis. I was tempted to go to Boots  and weigh yesterday out of curiosity when I was out but it was raining and I CBA to walk there from the car park.  I'll stick with my plan and go back for an official WI when groups reopen, hopefully in 2 weeks time.

I've been thinking about the price increase too. I've been doing SW for more than 10 years and the price has STS. I did some quick mental maths and I'd be surprised if I've spent  much more than £300 on SW. That's just under a year paying weekly to get to target and the few occasions when I've slipped out and it's taken more than grace week to get back. If someone had said to me that I could lose weight for £300, I'd have bitten their hand off!   Obviously I have bought magazines but never a HiFi or any Scan Bran!  That's my choice. I think what's getting to me most about the increase is that they're doing it now when the level of support is at its worst and it's a whopping 20%. I was pretty miffed about the situation I found myself in with lockdown. I'd done all the right things including never weighing at home but they didn't have a  solution for me. I think my consultant submitting that I've lost a pound when nobody knows whether I have is just her trying to get around their stupid rules. When I looked at the app last night it said 'weigh tomorrow'. I hope that means that consultant has to send my weight to them weekly. I'll soon find out if I can't log on after today.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA1 milk, red berries (S)
    L- ham, fried egg (P), bubble & squeak (F,S), pickles (S)
    D= SW Bolognese (P,S), spaghetti (F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns- 0

Thanks bubbs and maman but I'd really hoped for a small loss, even just half lb! as I'd come in under syns.  Maybe it's because I've not really had enough Speed.  Will try and up my Speed this week.

I agree with you maman about the timing of the increase.  I can understand it but think it's just the wrong time to put such a massive increase in place - there's not even the support that we've had previously.  The longer this situation goes on the more I'm convinced I'm not going to go back to weekly WI.  I think I'm more likely to just weigh and go once every couple of months.  I really wasn't happy with the group arrangements when we went back - just wasn't the same.  Like GTS the only thing I miss is meeting up with the people.

The weather has taken a turn since this morning - it was just very cold this morning but now it's raining as well!  Still at least the washing basket is almost empty, LOL!

Morning all.  It's really cold this morning but the wind has dropped.  The forecast doesn't look too bad for the weekend so will need to get the bedding washed at some time over the weekend.

DH was up early and popped up to the butchers to buy some low fat sausages as didn't want to queue yesterday.  He got back about 15 minutes after I got up!  By going early it's never busy - they actually open at 5.30am!

    Today's plan:

    B - scrambled eggs & spinach on toast - HEB; P; S
    L - mixed veg soup - S; F
    D - fish, chips, peas & tartare sauce - P; S; F; 2

    HEA - milk
    HEB - bread
    Syns - 1 Tbs tartare sauce 2; rum & ginger beer 5?

I'm going to try to stick to the no more than 15 syns recommended by SW - wish me luck!  I ended on 12.5 yesterday as DH got the shortbread fingers out again but I was good and only had ONE - that's got to be a record!

  • Morning all.  Love a baked apple bubbs!  I can't believe the price increase that they're proposing - I can understand that they've lost money this year but I'm sure they're not that hard up to warrant the increase now when more people will probably be out of work in January.

Anyway enough of my ranting about big business.  Having a slow start to the day today but still have a lot to crack on with.  Had porridge with a banana for breakfast and then will be the last of the leek and potato soup for lunch followed by some korean pork and black bean noodles with kimchi.  Dinner is not at all SW friendly due to the fat content in the paste but I've been craving the dish for a while so giving it a go at home.

Hope everyone has a good day and weekend - DH says he's going to paint our box room tomorrow :grimace: I'm staying well away!

Have you worked out the syns ruby for the Korean pork?  It might not be as bad as you fear.  Once you work out the syns you can work out how many you need to pull back over the rest of the week.  There are loads of us on here who often have big numbers on one or two days and then reduce the syns right down over the rest of the week!  I haven't been as bad as usual recently as DH is unable to drink at the moment so there has been no wine involved which is where the big numbers usually come from!

    Enjoy your weekend.

Just seen on our group Facebook page that the Skinny Syrups are now 1/2 syn per Tbs!  Assume they think people are using too much so doing the same as they did with sweetener.  Don't know about you but I won't be bothering to syn it!

I would usually work it out but there isn't any calorie info on the packet - there might be in Korean but I can't see any numbers to indicate anything like that  I'm not too worried about the syns for myself because I'm exercising regularly now, but wanted to be honest about this definitely not being a SW friendly meal
