Sugar snaps are nice nibbled on raw but I don't snack either so just have the odd one when I'm prepping meals.
They're good in stir fry or just add a few for the last couple of minutes when cooking broccoli or cauliflower. They're sweet and crunchy but don't cook them for too long. 😊1 -
I love sugar snaps. I quite often need a snack in the evening, think it might be because we have dinner fairly early, around 6 o'clock but usually just have some fruit but if I've made some hummus then I'll quite often have that with some veg sticks and sugar snaps are great for that.
If I get some then I will be making hummus this week! Will also make some falafel as while I'm soaking chickpeas I might as well do enough to make more than one thing. I might even soak and cook some extra and freeze them so I've got some ready to defrost if I fancy making hummus. I know some people soak, cook and freeze them in portion sizes but if I make falafel I always make them with just soaked chickpeas.
Just going to have a couple of Ryvitas & cheese as haven't had my HEB today - will make a change from fruit!

She's still around, I've seen her posting on other threads. I'm sure she's still plodding!

What a dull, damp horrible day it is today. Hope it brightens up later.
Have a letter to post so going to go to Aldi as well, might as well kill two birds with one stone so to speak!
Today's plan:
B - eggs on toast - HEB; P
L - black bean soup (a new recipe for me, hope we like it!) - P; S; F
D - LO chicken in gravy, potatoes, cauliflower & cabbage - P; S; F; 0.5
HEA - milk
HEB - bread
Syns - tsp cornflour 0.5; not sure what else may have a couple of Ryvita & cheese again (HEA2; 3 syns)

Miserable day here too although DH and I have said we'll put coats on this afternoon and go for a walk. Hope we don't chicken out when the time comes. 😉
The basic sausage casserole recipe has mushrooms and onions but I'll be adding some leeks, carrots, BNS and courgettes and any other Speed that I can think of to get my third in (just added two more as I was typing). 😁
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), HEB toast, HA milk, fried eggs (P), tomatoes and mushrooms (S)
L- cold meat (P), fried potato (F) fried veg and pickles (S)
D- sausage casserole (F,S,P), tagliatelle (F)
Syns- Aldi sausages 11 -
Morning all! Feeling a lot better after last week - think I stressed myself out a bit too much with work and it just took it out of me. Planning on a more relaxed week this week for sure! Ended up having a Chinese on Saturday as DH was craving some beef in black bean sauce and chips
Weighed in this morning and I've put on 3lbs since I last weighed in a couple of weeks ago but I have enjoyed all the extras that I've had during that time. Back on it today - did some weights this morning and planning on going for a run this evening as I've been almost bullied into attempting Couch to 5K again by some friends. We had a video chat on Friday night and they're all doing C25K and loving it and I did have on my list of goals for the year that I wanted to run a 5k so...wish me luck
Had pumpkin porridge for breakfast (oats, almond milk, pumpkin puree, sultanas, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, honey), and having some leftover potato hash with bacon and poached egg for lunch. Dinner is going to be beef bulgogi biminbap: basically beef strips marinated in a puree of apple, onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce and mirin, which is grilled and served with some rice and lots of vegetable sides suck as my homemade kimchi, beansprouts, carrot, wilted spinach and maybe an egg on top if I have enough left.

Hi All,
Sorry I haven't been around in a while I seemed to have dropped off the face of MSE, my bank accounts have suffered but my SW hasn't so that's one thing!
I re-joined SW in September and have lost 1st 1.5 lbs so farStill a long way to go, but I will be sticking to it through lockdown! Today I have had a Hi-fi, apple and baby bell for breakfast...Lunch is a Bachelors pasta and sauce (2) with ham and loads of veggies as I am WFH today!...Tea is Hunter's Chicken sausages (2) each with my HEA and loads of speedy veg!
Have a brill day everyone!! xPennies starts again...........2022 - £13,579.221 -
Aldi is not somewhere I frequent very often but I know someone who does so I might get them to get me a bag of the blackcurrant and liquorice. Could be dangerous hah.
I lost 2 pounds this week. So in 11 weeks I have lost 1 stone 13.5,
I’m quite happy at the rate it is coming off tbh
Todays menu
B: fruit and fibre milk ( had a smaller amount to combat the wholemeal pitta below)
L: celery soup pitta pizza (ham mushroom, red onion, cheese – not very much)
D : LF sausages, Yorkshire pudding, broccoli peas, new potatoes and gravy – a synned dinner but after a good day.
Later in the week a chilli, celery soup there is 3 portions and a gammon steak – fingers crossed for another good loss to keep me on track, id set a target in my head of what I wanted to see the scales say before Christmas, I have 15 pounds to go, I can see this target slipping now but it would only take one really good week to get me back on track. I wont feel disappointed if I don’t as the bigger picture is great still!

Well done on your loss klew. You're doing really well. As my consultant always says "Aim for the moon and you'll land among the stars".
The black bean soup we had for lunch is not something I'll bother with again! It was pretty tasteless - I even added extra spice but still not enough flavour!
Anyone have any ideas what I can do with another can of black beans? If they were fermented beans I'd have given black bean sauce a go but unfortunately it's just black beans in water! If I can't source a recipe it may well be something that will end up in the SOTW basket when we finally get back to real life groups, LOL!
