Thanks bubbs. I should have remembered as I know the wine offers always end on Tuesdays. 🤣 No problem, I have a dental appointment tomorrow so I'll call in on the way back. Sainsburys is only a mile away. ☺️

I made my beef stew so that'll be for lunch tomorrow and 1 for the freezer. Perfect for the miserable weather.
  • Evening all!

have had a couple of quiet days - managed a 2.6m run yesterday but decided I was too tired tonight to do anything.

did chilli salmon skewers last night & tonight was Thai style beef stir fry. No pictures I'm afraid ...was too starving to wait lol!

Morning all.  Had a really bad arthritis flare up in my arms last night which meant DH had to cook dinner and he really can't get on with our new oven - it beeps at everything you do and once it's heated up it beeps until you actually open the door to put something in so cue lots of shouting at swearing from him telling the thing to shut up   Sardines were lovely though, roasted with some lemon slices which melted into the pasta along with some roasted garlic, green beans and a bit of parmesan, was very yummy.

Last day at work this week and I can't wait to be finished.  Arms are still feeling a bit sore but I think I can push through and get everything done that needs to be done.  Kept it simple with weetabix for breakfast this morning, will be veggie chilli for lunch and then a stir fry with some frozen dumplings for dinner.  Hope you all have a good day!

Morning all.  Hope your arms feel better soon.  At least it's your last day at work this week so you can rest up a bit after that.

Weather not looking too bad at the moment but forecast to rain later so have managed to get a machine load of washing out on the line and have the bedding in at the moment which I'll get out as soon as it's done.  If necessary will finish off in the tumble dryer or on the airer, depending on how damp they are.  It's not as if I need to wash and dry to put back on the bed!

    Today's plan:

    B - baked oats carrot cake with fruit - HEB; S; F; 1.5
    L - HM coronation chicken, salad - P; S; F; 0.5
D - HB braised steak and onions (will add extra veg); mash - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge
    Syns - 10g sultanas 1.5; tsp marmalade 0.5

I had a smile at your new oven ruby. It sounds like my car. The parking sensors go off when I'm a mile form a space, drives me mad. Hope your arms soon feel more comfortable. 😊

I went to Sainsbury's after my dental appointment. LM sausages weren't marked down but supervisor told me they'd had a disastrous night with everything going wrong on the changeover of offers. £1.25 came up at the till though, same with DH's favourite Lavazza coffee. Bonus was 25% off wine and my favourite was already on offer. Result!😉

Change of plan for lunch as have LO casserole  taking up space in fridge so will eat that first.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried eggs (P), mushrooms (S), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- LO chicken free casserole (P,S,F)
    D- savoury mince (P,S), new potatoes (F), greens (S)
    Syns- 0😀

Managed to get my washing almost dry before it started to rain - only needed about 10-15 minutes in the tumble dryer to finish off.  Now all put away except for one of DH's T-shirts but suspect that's dry by now, just haven't checked!

HB steak is in the oven on low, going to cook it for about 2.5 hours so it's all really tender and melt in the mouth!  Really looking forward to it.  Have put in onions, garlic, leek, carrots, mushrooms.

    Good ideas from you both.

I hadn't thought of doing the garlic mushrooms for a JP. I often use spring onions as they are quicker to chop.

I hadn't thought of leeks with HB either. I really love the gravy and often freeze the extra to use with sausages or LO beef slices.

I've just put a load in the machine. I know it's late but the weather is so changeable I decided it could dry overnight as the house holds its heat well. 🤔

I only used the leek because I managed to get some in the £1.50 box from Lidl yesterday and won't use the whole pack otherwise; and of course it ups the Speed content!  The carrots were because I had a couple left and using up most of the mushrooms as will be shopping again tomorrow for the weekend so will buy more.  The last of them will be used in an omelette for breakfast tomorrow morning before group.
