Will let you know how the lamb turns out. In fact I'm just about to go and prepare it ready for the oven as we like to eat around 6-6.30pm.
How on earth do you resist the crackling on the pork maman? I absolutely love crackling and usually have a very small piece but if it comes out like the picture I might have trouble only having a small piece!
I've had to bring my DD1s and DGD's birthday meal forward to tomorrow as my DGD has a uni exam next week when it's actually their birthday (DGD was born the same day as my DD1).

TIE - he's beautiful! He's going to be a really big dog by the time he finishes growing.
Dinner is smelling amazing - can't wait! I'm getting really hungry now and just realised it's because we actually eating an hour later than we normally would. Should have timed dinner for about 5.30 today to help ease us into the extra hour, LOL!
Well dinner has been eaten but unfortunately it didn't live up to the smell! It was nice but nothing special. Certainly won't be doing it again. It did make a lot so there are 3 tubs ready to go in the freezer once it's cooled down, so 8 portions from it. Still works out quite expensive though we the price of lamb! Will need to do extra veg when we have these though as there just wasn't enough veg, even with doing a small tray of roasted veg, including potatoes!

Joedenise...I have no idea what made it an Italian stew - though it might have been the olives which I picked out and gave to hubby so in essence it was a chicken stew😆. I too am a crackling fan, especially the way Hubby cooks it so I always take the hit...fortunately (or unfortunately depending on your outlook) we haven't had pork for a while now.
TIE - they look lovely dogs and as much as I miss our beagle on days like today it's always a little less!
Haven't felt like eating much today...might have something to the amount of coffee I've drunk (no biscuits were eaten though).1 -
Well done on avoiding the biscuits GTS. I suspect you're right about it being Italian because of the olives. Did you give them to DH because you don't like them or because of the syns? I used to hate them but I've kept trying them from time to time as DH loves them and about a couple of years ago my tastes must have changed as I now like them! Still at least they are fairly low syn and I can stick at 8 olives when I have them.
It's a nice day today, after the rain last night so have put a machine load of washing on which I'll hang out shortly, think there's about half hour to go. I have a telephone COPD review at 10 this morning, no idea how that's going to work! After that we're going to go and play 9 holes of golf. We've decided we're not getting enough exercise and playing golf is a bit more enjoyable than just a walk along the local beach and also means we're walking far more, even if it is following a ball!
Today's plan:
B - mushroom omelette
L - carrot & ginger soup
D - out to dinner tonight for DD1's and DGD's birthday meal - I've looked at the menu and think I'm probably going to have the lamb rump but will ask for boiled potatoes and not croquette (they told me it wouldn't be a problem swapping when I booked the table) for main; starter will probably be the parma ham & mozzarella salad but will ask for wholemeal toast with it. Don't know whether I'm going to want a pudding but if I do it will probably be the profiteroles which look to be the lowest syn item on the menu!
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - mozzarella
HEB - bread?
Syns - hopefully not too many; if I have a drink it will probably be a G&T but depends if DH wants me to drive home.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning all! I'm not really a dog person but those dogs are adorable TIE! Sorry to hear that your meal wasn't that great maman but hopefully the spending time with people made up for it. Hope you enjoy your meal out denise, I love a good profiterole!
Happy to announce a 1.8lb loss this week, which I have no idea where that came from but I'll take it. Not sure I'm going to see a loss next Monday as we have plans this week for our wedding anniversary: going out for brunch on Thursday morning and then having a cheese board and bottle of really nice red wine in the evening followed by a stay in the same hotel where we spent our wedding night on Friday with a lovely 3 course meal and probably more wine and maybe a cocktail or two (plus their amazing breakfast the next day)
Following on from the talk of blueberries last week, I've finally found a way I can eat them and they actually taste ok - on toast with peanut butter (which was my breakfast this morning). Having another portion of veggie chilli for lunch today and then chicken katsu curry for dinner, using the last of my syn-free chinese curry sauce from the freezer (it's the slimming eats recipe with butternut squash and courgette as the base).

Well done on getting a loss ruby.😊 Your celebrations sound excellent, enjoy your anniversary and then just start again. Occasions seem more precious than usual at the moment. Hope you have a good time this evening too denise.
I have to be very strict with myself when there's pork crackling about. I generally have a small piece while I'm carving and then try to cut it off and throw it in the bin. Last week I didn't do it at once and kept going back to the fridge all Sunday evening having bits. I got rid of it on Monday before I could do any more damage. I remember a woman who joined SW at the same time as me. She loved the crispy skin off roast chicken. The only way she managed was to put it straight in her dog's bowl so she couldn't retrieve it. 🤣
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit squash (F), scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- ham (P), fried potato (F), fried veg and pickles (S)
D- baked cod (P), SW chips (F), carrots, cauli, broccoli, mushrooms (S)
Syns- HP sauce 11 -
I'm OK with the skin on chicken as I don't like it at all; I quite like crispy skin from lamb but I get DH to put it all on his plate so I don't eat it!
My consultant puts hers straight into the sink and squirts washing up liquid over it! I think I'd rather just put it in the bin!
