gettingtheresometime said:Maman yes it was the lamb one but when I saw the price of lamb I changed it to beef, also changing the stick to a beef stock as well. If I'm honest I could have done with it a little hotter but hubby isn't a massive fan of too spicy food so I kept it as per the recipe.
(could I have the spice mix as well please Joedenise?)
tonight's tea was another mindful chef recipe ...Spanish cod, with chickpeas & roasted peppersAs for bedding, my treat to myself (especially this time of year) is to get it washed & ironed by the local cleaners.

Evening,
Thanks for the good wishes. Starting to feel a bit excited, and I'm glad I held on to my pram and cot when my youngest outgrew themThere's got to be a spare nursery at Nanna's house, that's the law, right?
Bit of a mixed bag day. I was awake in the night last night for a few hours with really painful tummy ache (again!) I'm trying to work out if it's to do with the CV19 effects, or if it's something else? Not figured it out yet.
So I managed this for today's plan:
B - 2 x wm bread toast - spread & conserve (4)
L - cinnamon bagel with spread (12)
D - LF heck sausages (any help with the syns?) mash & baked beans, gravy (1)
I'm amazed I managed to actually function ok today, given the lack of sleep. When I did drift off last night I had really horrible dreams, that I then woke up from. OH then went off to work, and then called me to say he'd crashed the car about 2 mins after leaving the house! Fortunately he and the person he drove into the side of are both OK. The cars not so muchShame it was the new car we just forked out an arm and a leg on
So OH is feeling sorry for himself, and mithering about paying to have it fixed, etc. He has offered the chap he hit to pay for the repairs rather than go through insurance, as it was an older car he had, and chances are they will write it off. Fortunately we have a bit of £ saved for our holiday that was rescheduled for next year, so I've told him to use that to help pay for things, and we can ditch the holiday if need be next year if it's not going to be affordable now. The main thing is no one was hurt, and it's just stuff at the end of the day. You can't take it with you!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
GTS the curry mix recipe in on the previous page, a couple of posts before the picture of Beanie's cat; or did you mean the tagine mix?

Full marks for effort denise. 😁👏
Oh no sary! Not more. ☹️ I know it's not easy but have you seen your GP? Covid seems to have so many symptoms but it's best to get it checked out. 😊
How long did you cook the beef and what cut gts? 🤔0 -
Morning all! Loving the food pics denise and GTS - even though I've had breakfast I now strangely want some cod and cheesecake!
Sorry to hear you're still not feeling great sary - there's an article out today about long-covid and how it's mainly affecting women. If you're concerned then I would second calling the GP just to at least have a blood test because things may still be a little out of sorts.
Chucking it down with rain this morning here which made me not want to get up. So I've stayed in my pyjamas for work today as I have no calls so don't need to make an effortHad trusty porridge for breakfast this morning with blueberries (think I've finally realised I much prefer strawberries and raspberries but feel like I need to "eat the rainbow" so will persevere) , having more veggie chilli at lunch and then fajita bowl for dinner this evening.

Not together I hope!

Definitely give your GP a call. Better to be safe than sorry as they say.

HEA - milk
HEB - porridge oats

I've had trusty porridge too ruby! It's also tipping down here. ☹️
I have a few syns left for the pub lunch but not enough as menu online doesn't look very SW friendly. ☹️
Will report back on my sins later. 😁0 -
Are you weighing this week maman? If not, then not really too much of a problem! I am weighing tomorrow and according to my scales I'm definitely out of target so will have to be extra good last week, assuming I still get a grace week as I didn't weigh last week.
Enjoy your pub lunch.
It's my DD1 and DGD's birthday in a couple of weeks and I've booked a table for us plus them and partners at a local pub and the online menu doesn't look brilliant but I spoke to them when I booked the table and they said they are able to offer just plain boiled potatoes instead of chips if that would help - yes that will definitely help! They have actually sent me an actual menu by email this morning (which they told me they couldn't do and that the website menus were just samples of the type of food they do!) which I'll have a good look at before we go.

Hope your family meal actually happens in a couple of weeks denise. One reason for expanding today to the DHs as well as my friend and I was just in case rules change and groups can't meet indoors from different households.
Food worked out far better than expected. I had halibut for the first time ever and really enjoyed it, similar taste and thickness to cod or haddock but not so flaky. I chose a prawn cocktail starter followed by the halibut stuffed with salmon mousseline, new potatoes and green beans. Syns would have been in the marie rose (minimal amount), the saffron sauce on the fish and whatever they used for the mousse (cream or creme fraiche?). Then there were wine syns.....😉
It could have been worse, others (i.e. DH and friends) had puddings including crumble and custard!
So will be over syns for this week but not massively. I may not eat again today unless I get really peckish later.
No, I'm not weighting this week, probably in 2 weeks time or earlier if I've got my dates wrong.0 -
I've had a look at the menu I've been sent and there isn't really anything that is particularly SW friendly but I'll choose as wisely as possible and ask for sauces on the side - nearly everything seems to come with a sauce of some sort! I might even end up with 2 starters as there are some half decent starters, LOL!
Your meal sounds lovely. I've only had halibut once and agree it's very nice but the one I had was one we bought when we were in France and it was really a baby one and probably should have been thrown back in for being too small! I'm sure a full sized one would be far meatier.
