Yes please to the curry mix denise, and then a recipe for how you use it. 😉 Like ruby, I usually just adapt recipes as I find SW rarely work. It'll be good to know how the cheesecake thing works out. 🤔
    There's quite a few ingredients!

    3 Tbs coriander seeds
    2 Tbs cumin seeds
    1 Tbs mustard seeds
    1 tsp fennel seeds
    1 tsp black peppercorns
    1 tsp ground turmeric
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1 tsp paprika
1-2 dried chillies, depending how much heat you want

Put the seeds and peppercorns into a dry frying corn over a medium heat and cook for a few minutes, stirring regularly, until the mustard seeds start to pop and the seeds are aromatic.  Tip into a pestle to cool for a few minutes.

Once cooled, add the dried chillies and using a mortar grind to fine powder.  Add the turmeric, cinnamon, paprika and mix together.  (I actually cheat and use an electric grinder!)

Store in a small screw top jar.  Makes enough for 3-4 curries.  I usually use 2 good Tbs.

    Basic curry sauce:

Chop a couple of chopped onions and cook for a few minutes to soften, adding splashes of water to avoid sticking.  Once softened sprinkle a couple of Tbs of curry mix over the onions and cook out to get rid of the rawness, again adding splashes of water as necessary.   Add a tin of tomatoes and bring to a boil and simmer to thicken and use as required.

I often make to this stage and then freeze ready for whenever I want a curry.

Thanks so much denise. I'll give it a go. Do you think it would matter if I used powder instead of seeds as I'm going to grind it anyway? I have all those in the cupboard except fennel. 😊

maman I've never tried it with just powders but can't see any reason why it wouldn't work.  I don't think you can buy ground fennel - if you can I've never seen it!

Thanks bubbs.  The photo's on DH's phone so I'll have to use his phone to post it - it looks a bit of a mess because when I sprinkled the crumble on top it covered all the fruit up so you can't really see it!

It was OK but certainly wouldn't waste that amount of time to make it again.  It was a lot of faffing about.

    This was 2 syns worth:

    Thank you so much!  (blushes!)

The whole thing was 8 syns and it said to cut into 8 portions but as there are only 2 of us we had a quarter each and then we'll have the same again tomorrow for pudding.

Maman yes it was the lamb one but when I saw the price of lamb I changed it to beef, also changing the stick to a beef stock as well. If I'm honest I could have done with it a little hotter but hubby isn't a massive fan of too spicy food so I kept it as per the recipe.

(could I have the spice mix as well please Joedenise?)

tonight's tea was another mindful chef recipe ...Spanish cod, with chickpeas & roasted peppers

As for bedding, my treat to myself (especially this time of year) is to get it washed & ironed by the local cleaners.
