Yum to soup made with the gammon stock denise.😋 That's my favourite. I did think of buying gammon this week but decided I had enough other meats in the freezer so will wait. I've tried ham stock cubes but they were nothing like the same.

After posting about how much we enjoy garlic mushrooms, I saw this recipe which could easily be adapted to SW. I'll certainly try it when I next have peppers in. I think it would work well with gammon, chicken or fish.

We enjoyed last night's curry and will definitely do it again. I asked DH how it compared with Aldi and he said the sauce could have been thicker. I think he meant gloopy! Will think about adding some cornflour next time.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, skinny syrup, banana (F), HEB porridge, HEA milk
    L- veggie omelette (P,S), pickles (S)
D- JO roast pork (P) on veg trivet (S), SW roast potatoes (F), carrots, swede, cauli, broccoli, kale, cabbage., red cabbage, BNS
    Syns- gravy 4, weekend wine😀

That cabbage recipe sounds good maman.  Can definitely be made SW friendly.  Will have to have a look at that recipe for the curry as it will make a change from my usual chicken curry.

Meant to say I finally managed to get some more skinny syrup while we were away - got the Irish cream flavour - wonder what that will taste like on my porridge, LOL!

Yes it's the Jordans skinny syrup bubbs.  Dinner looks nice, as usual.

Have cut the last of the butternut squash this afternoon so now have 8 drying off ready for winter/spring.  Should last me a while without having to buy any.  Will be using one for curry in the next week or so.

Evening all,  I've been lurking and trying to keep up with your chatter.
I didn't even bother with putting the washing on the line today with the lack of a breeze and feeling so damp, and have got the last load in the tumble dryer at the moment, so happy to have it all out the way.  I've spent a fair bit of the weekend trying to get tender plants inside the greenhouse and shed for the winter months before I lose anything to frost in the coming weeks.  Fortunately I think it's mainly rain and milder weather for us in the E.Mids this week.

How are you feeling today Bubbs?  Speaking of your sister, did everything get sorted out there after the disagreement?

Disappointing to have to cut short your weekend away Denise.  Such a shame, but I hope you had a nice time while it lasted.

Have still been struggling to be 100% on plan, but if I can make it 80% of the time for now that's keeping me on track, even if I'm not losing I am maintaining.  I have a new incentive to be on track... will post that bit after my plan today:

B - banana (late up, then MrT order arrived, so it was a 'nana with a cuppa to tide me over)
    L - bacon sandwich HEB & 3 as it wasn't Neville's WM bread.  Ketchup (1)
D - Roast chicken, broccoli, carrots, peas, mash HM yorkies (4) gravy (1.5)
syns/treats - 6 pieces of chocolate, which is well over my syn allowance, but I was gardening all afternoon, so I am hoping the body magic will have helped!

So, my new incentive is that I want to be a lot slimmer and fitter before June next year, because that's when I will become a grandma for the first time!!:smiley:  DS1 & DIL broke the news to us yesterday, and I burst into tears :scream: with excitement and happiness.  They've been trying for a fair while, so I had been quietly concerned for them.  They are going to make the most fabulous parents as both either work with children, or volunteer at children's activities outside of work.  I'm going to need to be a much fitter Nanny  to keep up with a little one.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

bubbs - I just put them into a cupboard to dry out properly so that they'll keep a while.  The last 3 which I picked today I'll keep an eye on to make sure they dry out properly as the stalks were still a bit green.

We enjoyed the couple of days we were away sary.  Congratulations to your son & DIL on their upcoming birth and you coming a grandma of course!  Good luck with slimmer and fitter over the next few months!
