  • Thank you for holding the door open!

Well I'm so disillusioned at the moment. Didn't do the zoom classes during lockdown and was pretty pleased that I'd only put on 10lbs, especially given the amount I drank but ever since I returned to classes (though not doing the zoom element as I always seem to be doing something) I've struggled - in fact I think I've continually to put weight on....and I don't know why (genuinely!)

We're eating more healthy, we're more conscious of portion control, drinking has been severely reduced and I'm exercising more than I tended to do even during Lockdown so I really don't get it.

I've also decided that I need to take a break from going to class and won't be renewing my countdown when it finishes in 6 weeks.

So can anyone offer some words of advice?

GTS I suspect you're actually trying too hard!  Sometimes it's worth relaxing a bit.

You might like to post up your menu plans so that we can have a look in case something has crept in and you're not seeing it!  It happens to us all at times.

I got a machine load of washing dry this morning too bubbs.  Got it in just after lunch before we started packing the motorhome.  Glad I did as it's been raining for the last half hour or so!  Looking really horrible out there at the moment!

Not seen maman for a couple of days.  Hope she's OK.  Right I'm off to start dinner - casserole just needs reheating but need to cook the potatoes for the mash.

Good to see you back GTS,
It's never too late to get back on track. I don't know when you do your main shop or start your week but I'd suggest you sit down and write a plan and shopping list to go with it. Decide how you want to use your syns beforehand. Then keep a diary to help keep you on track. That's what helps me. 😉

We've been out for the day. Weather was glorious and we really enjoyed ourselves. I started the day on 13.5 syns and used very few. Fortunately we had lunch in a cafe so no temptations for wine syns. 😁 I did have a taste of DH's lemon drizzle when we stopped for tea but definitely not 13.5 syns worth. 😉

    Today's EE plan -
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried egg (P), tomatoes, mushrooms (S) HEB toast, HEA1 milk
    L - JP(F), HEA 2 cheese
    D- veggie chilli (P, S), brown rice (F), cottage cheese (P)
    Syns - cake 5?
I'm pretty sure the cheese wasn't over a HEA but, being out, I didn't use as much milk so know I'm OK.

Was a bit concerned maman because you didn't post yesterday and hadn't when I posted earlier this afternoon but glad it is just because you'd gone out for the day.  Sounds a lovely day.

Well done on being within syns, you've definitely done better than I have this week!  Only had about 6 syns yesterday and had a couple of rum & ginger beers for 5 syns.  That was going to be it for me and then DH opened the Baileys so I ended up have a couple of those too!  Pretty sure I'll be out of target when I weigh in the morning (at home as not going to group!).  Finally had a response from my consultant about an hour ago - was beginning to wonder if I'd sent the text to the wrong number!

  • Thank you for the warm welcome.

Joedenise - that's what hubby has said (basically I'm gaining muscle) & I have to admit I feel much more toned ...& that's why I think I'm so disillusioned with SW at the moment as it seems to be focused on scale results.

Maman - that's what we've started doing ...a friend introduced to a recipe box service & whilst we had 2 delivered, we found  their recipes were on the internet (strange business model) so I print out the recipes we fancy & then do an online shop for what's needed...I'm now a big fan of tofu!

I'm ok with breakfasts (tend to have yogurt & cereal) and recipes for the last couple of weeks have been mainly from this recipe box service . This was tonight's offering chipotle pork meatballs with Mexican style rice - 1/2 syn for the chipotle paste

One area I do know I need to work on is my water intake....I'd much rather a coffee than water!

    Looks YUMMY GTS . 😋

Nice to be missed denise, but I posted yesterday. 😉 Have a great weekend. We've been to Bournemouth today and there were lots of people around that seemed to be on holiday. I suppose there are some good deals on hotels. 🤔
Clean jeans today and I think I'm at the top of range at best but I'll just do a beanie and plod on. Time for more drastic action after next WI. I'm allowing myself a bit of leeway when I want to (within reason 😉) as I need something to cheer me up. Next week we've got a black tie event (postponed 3 times) and I'm meeting a friend for lunch. Good luck for your WI tomorrow. 😊
