The sausage casserole sounds nice, something different @maman

It's an old recipe that my girls made when they were at school. Basically fry sausages (then remove and cut up), fry onion, mushrooms and bacon then add baked beans, beef stock and tomato puree. Thicken with a little cornflour. Then I put the sausage chunks back add carrots, leeks, courgettes or baby corn depending on what I have in.

I sometimes do a more grown up Tana Ramsey sausage casserole recipe with butter beans and cabbage but this one is more comfort food. 😊

Hi DNM, hope that's ok to call you that?

Of course you can join
Well i see you have not had hexb, so could have some ryvita and ham/tuna or something like that? or make sugar free jelly and and have fruit and yoghurt? i always have fruit and yoghurt or ice cream i make with yoghurt
    of course

I think I will save my HEB today to have peanut butter on toast. I've just had speedy fruit salad and a dollop of quark and a hot squash to hit that mid afternoon sweet craving. I will do it!

Welcome DNM, everyone is welcome here.

I often have something like Ryvita in the evenings, I usually use part of my 2nd HEA Primula light on it but I see you've had grated cheese at lunchtime so really depends on whether you drink tea or coffee with milk and use some or all of your milk for that.

You can keep things like crab sticks, ham, cooked chicken in the fridge to pick on if you're peckish.  I like to have lots of pickles as well - pickled onions, cornichons, pickled beetroot, pickled red cabbage, all of which are Speed foods.  Or like bubbs says you could have sugar free jelly - I make up the pack and make 3 or 4 ramekins @ 0.5 syn each or you could make up the whole pack for 1.5 syns and then have that with some fruit and some fat fat yoghurt as well.

If you need any syn values just ask.  There's usually someone around who can look them up.

bubbs You've had much better weather than me - it's been p'ing down all day today!  The forecast is for more rain for the next couple of days so looks like there'll be no drying weather!  I'm going to need to do some but will probably leave until Friday and then put on the airer as we're hoping to go away in the motorhome at the weekend as it's forecast to be dry!  It should be dry by the time we get back on Sunday, LOL!

Glad you've managed to sort our your 'windy' problem!  No more figs for you then!

I'm not surprised your hungry if you only had melon for lunch!  I'd be starving.  We had jacket potato and I'm starting to get peckish so will be going to make dinner shortly - we eat about 6 o'clock usually.

Has anyone made any ot the Two Chubby Cubs recipes? Their book is on offer on Amazon for £6.50 so I was just wondering if it's any good, not too complicated using loads of ingredients. Thanks.

£6.50 is a good price and they do have some good recipes. It's not much more than a week's SW fee! Their recipes are online but it's very irritating scrolling through all the adverts and they're questionable 'humorous' comments to get to the actual recipes so the book might be easier to use.
