Morning all.  Sun is out here too!  For a change I haven't got any washing to do; bet next time I need to do some it'll be raining!

We've got roast chicken today too bubbs.  I love a roast dinner, particularly chicken as can get so many meals from it.  Will get at least 2 more meals from it and it's only a medium sized one.  Will have some cold tomorrow and I'll also make a curry for the freezer as well.

Too much weekend wine last night so it's going to be damage limitation after today!

    Today's plan:

B - kedgeree - was really nice but quite honestly a waste of good smoked haddock! - P; S; F
    L - LO carrot & lentil soup - P; S; F
D - Roast chicken, roast potatoes, roasted veg, green beans, cabbage

    HEA - milk
    HEB - none planned
Syns - ring doughnut (got it free from Lidl yesterday with the Lidl Plus app - was only going to have a small piece and give the rest to DH but it was so nice and I can't remember when I last had a doughnut!  I gave about 1/4 to DH but still 11.5 syns!

I’m still here just lurking as health not so good and weight up & down 🥺
My hospital appointment has been cancelled due to COVID-19 so really not eating properly as trying to work out the triggers.
Also my old fur baby is nearing the end, it’s that time where we decide are we keeping him going for our benefit instead of thinking about his quality of life 😢 🐾
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

Good to see you tie. Sorry to hear about your appointment though. ☹ It's definitely not the case that the NHS is open for business as usual despite what we're told. Take care.😊

Snap! roast chicken and sunshine  here today too. 😁 I've put washing out and will do the Bolognese while I'm prepping the dinner.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), scrambled eggs (P), HRB toast, HEA milk
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), beetroot and cornichons (S)
D- Roast chicken (P), SW roast potatoes (F), BNS, carrots, kale, cabbage, red cabbage, swede, cauli, broccoli
Syns- HM gravy 4, weekend wine😋

Sorry you're not feeling well TIE and your hospital appointment being cancelled.  It's hard sometimes where your cat/dog is near it's end of life to make that decision.  I'm sure you'll know when the time is right so that your animal doesn't have any quality of life.

Checked a few more recipes kim, there are odd ingredients like breadcrumbs and cornflour but as long as you allow for the syns then you can easily use them on SW. Good Luck. 😁
My question was not about working hello fresh into slimming world, it was about getting lots of speed when you don’t want to visit the supermarket twice a week!

kim - I use a lot of frozen vegetables to ensure I get plenty of Speed foods.  If you don't want to keep going to the supermarket then when you do visit just buy long lasting vegetables like carrots, butternut squash, swede.  You can easily buy enough for a week that way and then supplement with frozen or tinned vegetables (have to admit I'm not keen on tinned veg but will use them when I'm on holiday).

A lot of pickles are also Speed, things like pickled onions, gherkins, cornichons, pickled red cabbage.  Pickles like Branston and Picalilli aren't Speed but Syns.

    Hope that helps.

As I said, beetroot (pickled or vacuum packed) goes with many meals. I'd also try frozen stir fry vegetables as you can make them tasty with some spices. Or frozen mushrooms would probably be good for making the garlic mushrooms we've been enjoying especially as Primula is very long life. I think you can buy tinned ratatouille but I'd have to check the syns. Personally I like tinned baby carrots too.
If you were to buy any long life fresh vegetables, baked onions are tasty especially red onions. If you ping them in the microwave first, it will speed up the cooking in the oven.
  • Hope everyone had a good weekend, today was quite sunny but crisp here in Bucks. OH scarified the front grass, lots of BodyMagic  ;) and now 2 very heavy builders bags full of moss etc to get rid of! We just had dinner which was scrumptious but could someone look up the syn value for me please? It is new from Aldi, a Pad Thai Meal Kit, 265g, serves 2 people. It is the sachet of sauce and the chopped peanuts which no doubt contain syns. I made it with chicken instead of prawns plus a huge amount of speed, and will definitely make it again if syns are not too bad.  There is a Thai Green Curry Kit and a Thai Red Curry Kit available in the same range, not tried them yet.

It doesn't seem to be on the app PIB. If you want to post the food values, I'll put it through the estimator.

This afternoon, the app started telling me to go to group. It has a remind me later button but how irritating if it's going to do that every time for 4 weeks!
