Sorry bubbs I seemed to somehow miss your post when you asked if I got the Tesco yoghurts - I got a couple of tubs, well actually DH did as he did the shopping while I was at group as I can't drive at the moment.  Went to the opticians on Tuesday and got told I would fail a driving test with my current glasses, yikes!  So until I get my new glasses I'm not driving.  Fortunately I've not been driving anyway as DH does all the driving when we're away.  The only time I usually drive now is when I go to group if DH doesn't need to go into town for some reason so at most it's once a week but more often than not he needs to go into town when I do.

I don't think maman has been to weigh in yet.  Think she said she was going next week but that she was feeling slim.  That was the last time I remember her mentioning WI.

Chips look good.  Are they Actifry ones?  The potatoes I've got at the moment crisp up nicely but just don't colour so they look anaemic but actually they're quite nice.

You asked for some syn free ideas for breakfast - my favourite has got to be a fry up!  Or how about a Continental breakfast - loads of different sliced meats & cheeses, chopped fruit and yoghurt.

Have you looked on the website at the Features?  I fairly certain there are a couple of articles on there covering Breakfasts.  Of course there are also the 7 day menu plans on there as well so you might find something amongst those.  Do you have any of the magazines as there's always a 7 day menu plan in there as well?

Sorry can't think of anything else.

Maman , must have missed you went to group, sorry, how did you get on?
Denise is right, I haven't been to WI. I just reset my syns yesterday to 105 on my usual day. I probably don't need to go for a few weeks. 😁

How do you get through all that yougurt? I can't say I've noticed it on the meal plan. Is it making ice cream? 😉🤣

Definitely the ice cream maman.  Don't think she uses it for anything else though, like you never seen anything on the meals!

I thought it was just occasional bubbs , but not a problem (other than cost 😉) as it's all on plan. 😁

I rarely buy yogurt but got some last week to try the JO coleslaw recipe. I had some with fruit last night because we had an early dinner to watch football and so I got peckish later on . 😊
  • Good morning all, dry and the sun is trying so far. Bubbs, I made rice pudding in the SC the other day which did me for 4 breakfasts, with different fruits each morning. All it took was 150g of rice (I used long grain, could not find pudding rice anywhere) and a litre of milk (I used Alpro unsweetened, was on offer and you’re allowed more of this than normal milk I think). Also added cinnamon and a little sweetener, could add a flavoured syrup. Did 1hr on high to get it going, then 3hrs on low. Next time will check it earlier, as would prefer it less mushy. Goodness, am not selling it well am I  :D.  Anyway, it made a nice change and did not use my HEb.

My week has been a bit rubbish, far too many syns in self-sabotage. Never mind, will get back to it, wish I could just find a middle ground and keep going, rather than do really well one week and treat myself to celebrate the week after and as a result not do so well. Am meeting up on Monday with some of my SW buddies to catch up, will be nice to hear how it is all going. Managed to borrow 3 new SW books which were gathering dust at a friend’s, so plenty of recipes to choose from. Have a good weekend!

Dry here too so taking advantage and doing another machine load of washing and get in out on the line.  There's a little bit of wind so shouldn't take too long to dry.  It was difficult to see whether we are likely to get any showers this afternoon from the forecast so I'd like to be able to get it in before lunch, just in case!

I usually use almond milk for rice pudding too PIB; think it makes really creamy although I usually cook mine in the oven for about an hour and a half.  I think because you did an hour on high and then 3 hours that's roughly equivalent to cooking it for 5 hours on low so think it probably only needs 2 hours after an hour on high to be less mushy.  Never really thought about rice for breakfast, although I'm not sure DH will go for it!

Great you managed to borrow some SW books as well from your friend - I think we all need new ideas from time to time because we tend to get in a rut.  Have decided I'm going to redo my menu plan to use some use recipes this month as there is just so much stuff which we seem to have every month!

    Today's plan:

    B - sausages, egg, mushrooms, tomatoes, beans - P; S; F; 2
    L - toasted cheese sandwich - HEA2/HEB; 3.5
D - prawn and vegetable risotto - P; S; F (was going to the JO pea and prawn but looked on the SW website and found this one so going to do this - need to pop out to do get a few bits of shopping so will pick up some courgettes as I've already used what I had!)

    HEA - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - sausages 2; butter 3.5; not sure if I'm drinking tonight will see if I fancy anything so possibly 5 for rum to add but still within syns
