That's the one I usually buy but usually buy the Kg one but didn't have one when I shopped last week so had to buy 2 of those.

Hope they've got them in my Tesco's tomorrow at that price!

I know a bargain, i was looking for something on the cash back app, then saw that. If they stock it it will be that price as it's on there website

Wow! How many chicken balls were left for DH if you had 11 of them bubbs. 🤣
Were you celebrating something? Not often you have a takeaway. 🤔

I had an off plan lunch today - fish and chips followed by a cheese board plus the wine . It was a lovely piece of fish and portions weren't large but I'm not even thinking about the syns. Line drawn and back on it tomorrow. 😊

Good luck for tomorrow at WI denise. 😊 You're so right about the dress sizes like ruby with 2 sizes in 2 days. When I started SW, although I was asked to set a weight target, what I really wanted to achieve was a regular size 12 in a decent brand.

How do you do the dirty rice klew? I'd need lots of extras on the rice to fill me up. Probably the closest I get is jambalaya but that has chicken and loads of veg.

I haven't eaten since lunchtime but have my stew to reheat if I need it. Probably wait until tomorrow though. 😉🤔

Happy Birthday Mr Bubbs . 🎉😁
  •  o:)  checking in! Was terribly good last night, ordered plain boiled rice with chicken & mixed veg. Would have preferred more veg, but in the grand scheme, happy with what I had. You know how much you enjoy one of those evenings when you finally manage to have a catchup, which was brightened even more by her grandson popping in to say hello with the biggest smile. He has just started school so I now know the name of every one in his class, would have loved a hug, but he is aware that he is living in a nuclear family, and that Nanny is very old (98) so she and Grandma need to be looked after.  They are very lucky, have a big house, all eat together, but Nanny has her own little granny flat, Grandma & mummy & daddy have their own living rooms, so all more or less living independently but with the security of them all being together.
A smile costs little but creates much :)

Morning all.  All the talk of Chinese would usually have me salivating but right now I can't think of anything worse (starting to wonder if there isn't something wrong with me )  Glad you all enjoyed, sounds like a lovely evening GTQ and hope your hubby had a good birthday bubbs.

Its grey and dreary here with a bit of rain this morning and I really didn't want to do my workout this morning but manged to drag myself out of bed and crack on with it.  Actually noticed that my stamina is getting better this time round so pleased with that.  NSV from yesterday is that I actually liked what I saw in the mirror - I've definitely lost weight in my face over the past couple of weeks which gave me the confidence to post a selfie on my work twitter account (something I never usually do) promoting our flu vaccination programme this year.  Good job I was happy with the picture because it's been retweeted by a lot of people who work in our hospital

Had my overnight oats for breakfast again this morning, lunch will be leftover beef from the weekend fried with peppers and some salad bits that need using up and dinner tonight will probably be the last portion of aubergine parmigiana.  Better get back to doing some work, hope you all have a good day.

Glad you had a good time GTQ with your catch up and well done on your food choices.  Glad you enjoyed your Chinese too bubbs and belated happy birthday to Mr bubbs.

Well done on feeling good enough about yourself to post a selfie on your works Twitter account - that is a great NSV.

WI was better than I'd expected this morning with a gain of 2.5lb over the 6 weeks since I last weighed and away for 4 of those! So I'm well within target range at just 1lb above my actual target.  Would like to lose at least that this coming week but won't be unhappy if I don't manage it.

    Today's plan:

    B - overnight oats - HEB; P; S
L - SW lunch bow of Coronation chicken - P; S; (wanted to try it before actually making it as it is more than just a sandwich filling and looks quite a faff to make and will take quite some time but if it's good I'll batch cook some to freeze)
    D - Salmon fillet, mini roasties, Mediterrean sauce, green beans - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - oats
Syns - couple of rum & ginger beer 5

    Hi,

It’s the cajun dirty rice from pinch of nom, tbh I have made it once before strictly to the recipe but last night I just used what veg I had and I only made half the recipe. So loosely, it is rice boiled in chicken stock. Mince, onion and bacon medallions fried off, then add cajun and Worcester, then add veg, last night I added peppers, mushrooms, carrot and celery, more of this than mince. Add beef stock then simmer until the veg is cooked through, add the rice and mix in with spring onions. I really try and make it so well over the third of it is speed

Im having leftovers for lunch today and gammon steak for tea – not decided what with yet

Thanks klew for the recipe.  There's also a recipe on the SW website.

There's a similar recipe on SlimmingEats which comes up when you search Dirty Rice called One Pot Southern Hoppin John, this uses cured pork joint or says you can use any cured meat such as ham so could be something you could use the Free Ham with (PEK is the tinned ham which is free and it's not bad cooked - we had some when we were on holiday).

I think they're quite similar to Jambalaya maman except that it has added cajun spices and Worcester sauce which is the bit which makes it "dirty"!
