    Morning all

It's dry again this morning so have done a machine load of washing and it's out on the line drying, although not sure if it will dry before the rain which is due around 1pm!  There isn't a breath of wind so it's just hanging there.

My hairdresser arrived just as I'd finished hanging the washing out so now have hair which is easy to look after again!  It was getting really thick and far longer than I like - much prefer my hair to be quite short so it's easy to look after.  Next appointment booked for 20 November.

Hope your exhaustion sorts itself out quickly ruby, it's horrible when you feel that like and can't even be bothered to cook - it's a danger time when you feel like that for eating the "wrong" things.

    Today's plan:

B - cheese omelette - P; HEA2 (I used some Primula instead of cheddar for a change and it was tasty - my nan used to make them for me when I was a kid using cheese triangles and I loved them!
L - LO roast pork and apple chutney - HEB; P; 4 syns
    D - KFC, corn on the cob, chips, beans - P; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - Primula (not a full HE)
    HEB - bread
    Syns - butter 3.5; apple chutney 0.5

I must try a squirt of Primula in omelettes denise. I generally grate some Parmesan in to get a cheesy flavour. Do you whisk it with the eggs or add it in the pan?😊

Sorry to hear you're suffering too ruby. I do hope they take long covid into account in these discussions about herd immunity. I know there is a political group that's thinking of shielding the vulnerable and letting everyone else behave 'normally'. 🤔

Is the chicken jalfrezi a  SW ready meal or do you have a recipe?

I'm dancing again later so keeping up the Body Magic.  I've done my meal plan and shopping list so I'll go shopping while I'm out. The hall we're using is close to our only local  Morrisons so would be convenient if I ever wanted anything from there.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried egg (P), tomatoes, mushrooms (S), HEB toast, HEA milk
    L- cold chicken (P), bubble & squeak (F,S), beetroot and cornichons (S)
D- Fake KFC (P), SW chips (F), asparagus, mushrooms, tomatoes (S)
    Syns- weekend wine😁
  • Hope everyone is feeling better today.  Looks nice out at the moment, well to see the sky from my office window means ducking so that I can see above the roof of the garage, so can only go based on that! Wish my view was better, but they are nice guys in the garage and it is handy for me, drop car on way to office, walk around the corner, spend the day working and reverse in the evening, so can't really complain that much.

Had an STS this week, was actually disappointed with that, but it wasn't a gain, so can't really dwell on it.   Think I will eat from the freezer this week, it will be all portioned out so will only need to add veg.  Mind you, I am craving a lamb shank at the moment!

Eggs, beacon and parmesan - it's a great thing for sure.

maman I just added a squirt onto the omelette while it was cooking and because it didn't want to cook properly I ended up popping it under the grill for a minute so added another squirt then so it was oozing when I dished it up.  I can't believe you can actually half a tube of the Light Primula which is far too much for me in one go!

If you go into Morries it's worth picking up a loaf or two of their own brand wholemeal for the freezer - I think it's far better than the Nevilles one from Mr Ts.

It's been nice here to GTQ but getting a bit grey now.  At least I managed to get my washing dried on the line, we haven't had the forecast rain but wouldn't be surprised if we get some soon.

We’ve had torrential rain followed by sunshine all day. ‘Tis a tad chilly too.
I'm hoping for a maintain tomorrow but I’m not hopeful. Fish and chips from Wsp00ns today. I only ate half and the mushy peas were free. I’m hoping to have a bit more energy this coming week as I’ll have passed the magical 6 week period and hoping to be able to do a bit more. I’ve just headed downstairs as the workmen have finished for the day to make a cuppa. I can find my kettle but not a clue where they’ve put the tea or cups 😱😱

Thanks klew for the recipe.  There's also a recipe on the SW website.

There's a similar recipe on SlimmingEats which comes up when you search Dirty Rice called One Pot Southern Hoppin John, this uses cured pork joint or says you can use any cured meat such as ham so could be something you could use the Free Ham with (PEK is the tinned ham which is free and it's not bad cooked - we had some when we were on holiday).

I think they're quite similar to Jambalaya maman except that it has added cajun spices and Worcester sauce which is the bit which makes it "dirty"!

im definitely going to make different versions of it going forward, i am also going to make next week 2 other pinch of nom recipes i will let you all know how it goes! i dont mind pek so will try it out
weigh in tomorrrow, really hoping for a loss this week, i have been pretty good, and compared to 12 weeks ago... outstanding lol

Realised there is no Speed in today's menu plan so I've got DH making coleslaw to go with the KFC tonight so at least we'll have some, although not masses.

Which PON recipes are you planning on trying this week klew?  I used to use their recipes quite a bit have got out of the habit recently.  Must dig out my PON cookbook and also some of my old SW books to find some "new" recipes to use.

I bought the new Take 5 book at group yesterday but haven't really looked at it yet, just a quick skim whilst waiting for IT to start.
