Morning all.  I'm a bit like you maman with the meal planning; take it on a week by week basis and see what we have already and what I can make out of it.  I always try and put a new meal in each week (usually on a Saturday) just to mix things up a little.  I then put the list on the fridge and DH still asks me what's for dinner each evening!   Tuesday and Thursdays we each do our own thing as DH follows the 5:2 diet and those are his "fasting" days.  That's when I can have mushrooms or fish as he isn't too keen on either.

B - Porridge (HEB & 1/2 HEA unsweetened almond milk), banana, golden syrup (2 syns)
L - Lentil and bacon soup, carrot sticks
D - Fishcake (2 syns), asparagus, sugar snap peas

Draw the line klew and start again, today is a new day.  Maybe try a few SP days if you can cope with them - I can't I like my carbs too much!

Went to WI this morning and wasn't too bad only a handful of people stayed.  I lost 1.5lb since my last weigh in mid July and am now only lb from bottom of target range.  Hoping to lose that this week so that I can go on holiday knowing I have 6lb to play with!

    Today's plan:

    B - overnight oats - HEB; S; F
    L - sweet chilli noodles - S;F;3
    D - HM meatballs in HM tomato sauce with pasta - P; S; F

    HEA - milk
    HEB - porridge oats
Syns - sweet chilli sauce 3

That's a great result denise. Well done on your loss!😊 I suppose those that stayed to group would have been fairly serious followers of the plan, especially if they've been doing Zoom. I was wondering whether there are many who've been comfort eating through lockdown and seen big gains?

Glad you enjoyed your meal klew.  I think its better to go into a restaurant and actively choose to have syns rather than succumb to binge eating biscuits or whatever. You could try SP or  I'd just have minimal syns until WI then take it from there. I've never understood flexi synning but I think it means going off plan, maybe making some wise choices if you can, drawing a line and starting again. I think it's SW's way of saying don't  give up if you fall off the wagon.

I miss the fact that DH and I used to have dinner separately sometimes before lockdown ruby. If he was out I'd have egg and chips! 😋😁 I could have that now but it's not the same having two different dinners together. I'd thought of  doing  sausage, egg, chips and beans ( DH doesn't eat eggs so he could miss that)  but it was too similar to our breakfast yesterday. Maybe next week. 😉

I watched the Jamie Oliver cooking programme. He did Bolognese worthy of SW as he added loads of veg but he added beer for flavour. I'm happy with  free Tesco wine stockpot. He also roasted a chicken on a bed of veg which looked very tasty. I  use one of his pork recipes that's very similar. Unfortunately I suppose there'd be fat in the veg from the chicken skin?☹

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA1 milk
L- JP (F), cottage cheese (P), spring onion and beetroot (S)
    D- SW Bolognese (P,S), pasta (F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Syns-  HP sauce 1

My meal planning is a bit haphazard but I get there. I shop differently now there’s only myself and dh. I tend to go in the shop and see what meat is on offer and what takes my fancy then buy my veg etc around that. I generally batch cook so there’s always SW meals in the freezer to fall back on. Recently though I’d been eating a meal for 4 between the 2 of us....nipped it in the bud now though and feeling much more in control.
i had a message from my SW consultant and our groups are starting again in September - we have to book a slot so I’ve decided to go back and have booked an early Saturday morning slot. I’ve missed the folk there and missed the website....hopefully I won’t be paying for too long as I will get back to target town 👍
I had a mushroom omelette after my swim yesterday since I’d eaten my tea at 3.30🤪
    Today
breakfast - fruit and yoghurt 1/2 b choice no sugar granola
dinner - hm burger ( no bun ) hm oven chips, lettuce, tomato, onion, cucumber, gherkin 1/2 hea cheese
tea - 1/2 a&b ryvita and cheese, ham, egg, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, cucumber. Ice cream 5 syns ? raspberries, banana and teaspoon of choc shot 1 syn?
Yes the flexi syns are a way of not giving up. You are suppose to allow yourself whatever you need to get through the day/occasion  - eg 80  - count your syns until you reach chosen amount - then start with your usual allowance the following day. I’ve never managed to do it the recommended way but have had a day off plan without counting and got back on the following day. The trouble is I was having too many flexi days........

  • Hi all
Today has been okay but unorganised which meant I skipped breakfast and then was starving by tea time. I had three sausages (extra lean from butchers grilled) and spaghetti hoops for my dinner and resisted all the chocolate biscuits at work!!  Tea was chicken tikka massala (the sauce was 3.5 syns out of a jar but does the job on working nights) I mixed through loads of veg and wholegrain rice so it was a bit of a biryani by the time I finished but worked out at 5. 5 syns a portion and was delicious. Even the kids commented how nice it was  :# just had an apple and I've got some sweet n salty popcorn stashed for when I've finished tidying up tonight!! X managed to save some curry so at least dinner is sorted tomorrow now too x

Wow! 5 stone! I know I'm hovering at the top end of target but that's ridiculous! 🤣 Skewers look amazing. Lucky sister. 😋

Definitely better to have sausages and spaghetti than fill up on biscuits penny. And you got veg in later. 👍

I don't think there's a book with the programme milann. It's a new series that started on Monday on Channel 4 called something like Keep Cooking Family Favourites. 🙂

Dinner looked great as usual bubbs.  You always make the plates look really good.  Did you used to work in a restaurant?  Plates are definitely restaurant quality.  I'd be really happy to get a plate of food like that!
