    Evening gang.
Good to see you back Mrs R.  Condolences on the loss of your dear dad.  I think most here can relate to using food as part of our support network.  How is married life?

The scanner sounds like a great idea, but scary at the same time.... no more denying those syns eh?

    Plan today:
    B - banana
    mid-morning part of breakfast - SF jelly (0.5), melon, mango & 1tbsp cream (1.5)
    L - wm bagel HEB + (6); skyr (0.5)
D - LO spag bol with pasta &  cheese sprinkled on top HEA1
    HEA2 - milk in tea/coffee
    snack - 1 rich tea biscuit (2)

Have had a bit of nausea again today, hence the simple lunch that I took to work with me in my bag for later, as I wasn't sure I could manage anything more complicated, but by 4pm I felt like eating again.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

    Evening everyone
Thanks for all the kind words about my dad, much appreciated ❤️
15th February it was maman- day after Valentines.
Sary- married life is great because we’ve hardly seen each other! OH has been working stupid amounts of overtime through lockdown and is currently working stupid amounts of overtime again. I’m WFH so I’m still asleep when he leaves in the morning and it’s usually late when he comes in, grabs a quick bite and a shower and then goes to bed. We’ve managed to get some time together though which has been nice.
joedenise- thanks for the warm and helpful welcome back :) I did know about the HEXA but thanks for the heads up about the bread! :)

It’s been one crazy old day today. I was going to go for a walk but I had a massage yesterday and I’m still in agony so instead I’ve just been rushing back and forwards between the garage, kitchen, bedroom and back garden with loads of washing. Think that’s my body magic for today! My trainers and yoga mat have arrived- looking forward to using them on Thursday.
My consultant dropped my pack off so I’ve just got set up on the app. I now have access to the syns database. :)
    Today’s food:
B: HEXB Weetabix with 2 x Light and Free yoghurts (1) blueberries and banana. Water
L: Aldi Lamb Rogan Josh (6.5) Uncle Ben’s Rice (3) salad, Fibre One popcorn bar (3.5) water
T: Aldi skinny meatballs (1) garlic chips, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots. Mini Milkybar ice cream (5) water
S: HEXA (both of them- my cup is huge!) warm milk and an apple
    Syns: 20

    Night night all xx

    Morning everyone,

I always feel like I must be doing well if Maman compliments my menu!  o:)  Alas, I did also eat three HiFi bars as well yesterday :s all in the name of taste testing. The rocky road ones are lush, I'll go back for more while they're still in Iceland. No fruit and nut though Denise.

I saw something about a barcode scanner on instagram the other day - very excited by that! I always find the food search a pain in the bum, you get soooo many results and the more specific you are the more results come up.

    Today:
B - Cantaloupe and passion fruit
D - Bacon, onion and mushroom scromlette, maybe a slice of toast if the bread isn't mouldy
T - Roast aubergine with harissa, tomatoes and red onion, with cousous
    HEA - Milk in coffee
    HEB - Bread
    Syns - Sugar in coffee (4), harissa (2), HiFi bar (3) = 9

Thanks for the reminder that Ryvita exists, Maman. I'm going to pick some up today for easy lunches with cottage cheese and some pickles. I've got back into the habit of buying bread since lockdown began (full disclosure - the tasty seedy type, not the tiny wholemeal loaves!) and I've eaten basically a loaf a week to myself. I don't want to be anti-bread, but when you have it in the house it's so easy to just have some toast several times a day, plus whatever you slather on it!

OK, time for a bit of work and then off to the supermarché. Have a good day all!

Morning all.  There are worse things to eat than 3 HiFi bars Tete, I wouldn't worry too much!

Need to get back on the exercise wagon again as I feel really sluggish from not moving much.  Planning on doing something after work today but no idea what.

B - Raspberry Lindvarg skyr (0.5 syns), strawberries, blueberries
L - Prawn salad (mixed leaves, cucumber, tomatoes, pepper, red onion), light salad cream (2 syns)
D - Welsh rarebit (HEB, HEA, 3 syns), side salad

Hope you all have a good day.

I have a Ryvita question! Just looked it up on the syn search thing on the app, and the same varieties seem to be listed several times, eg:

Ryvita Original Crunchy Rye Breads - (each) - 1.5
Ryvita Original Crunchy Rye Breads - (2**) - HEB or 3
Ryvita Original Crunchy Rye Breads - (4) - HEB or 6

What does the 2** mean? I can see that 2 Ryvitas clearly equals half HEB, just wondered why it's annotated in this way, any ideas? Thanks! :)

I keep my bread in the freezer Tete and just take out what I need.  You can toast it from frozen but I prefer to let it defrost first, doesn't take very long.

The weather is looking good at the moment, it's really bright and no wind.  Think I might well sit out in the garden later with a cup of coffee.

    Today's plan:

    B - cheese on toast - HEA; HEB; P; F
L - Jacket potato; beans; salad
D - Sliced LO pork in gravy, roast potatoes, roasted carrots, onions & peppers, green beans & peas - P; S; F; 1 (I scrape the gravy off mine as don't really like it!)

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
    Syns - gravy 1; Non-alcoholic Baileys latte 4.5

What do you all eat when you are hungry for snacks? im thinking about starting slimming world as i desperately need to shift some pounds! at the moment i am having cereal for breakfast its around 45g , i know it should be less and green top milk. lunch, for example today is reduced salt beans the small tin, with 2no wholemeal bread slices and a sprinkle of cheese, it wont be much and not all of what slimming world would be allowed. Tonight is Pork steak, boiled potatoes, marrowfat peas and mashed turnip. small amount of gravy. Just need something for in between times would be great?

I'm not the slimming world expert around here (there are a lot more knowledgeable people than me on the board) but your meal plan for today isn't too far off the mark.  You'd have to make sure your cereal was on the approved Healthy Extra B list and reduced to about 30g depending on what it is.  Something like bran flakes you could have 30g or two weetabix but then you can have 40g of oats and make a filling porridge.  Bulk it out with some fruit and you're good.  You could then swap the beans on toast for a jacket potato with beans and cheese and a little salad on the side for lunch.  Dinner wise you'd just have to make sure the pork had all visible fat removed and you could syn the gravy.  So just some small tweaks and you're actually having a really good Slimming World day.

I try not to snack too much but I have a couple of boxes of things ready to go in the fridge - carrot and cucumber sticks with some homemade hummus, fat free yogurts or I usually find I want some cooked meat so I'll cook up a gammon joint in the slow cooker at the weekend and then just cut it up so I can grab a few pieces if I get peckish.  In the evenings when I may want something a bit sweeter I have a mini bag of popcorn which I would syn but it wouldn't send me over the allocated allowance for the day / week.  If you have big enough meals that have at least a 1/3 of your plate with fruits and vegetables, you shouldn't really need to snack (says the person who ate an entire tub of ice cream on Monday )
