Being a football fan, I’m always to be found pottering in the kitchen listening to away games on the radio. That’s my preferred time for batch cooking, even before SW. I do things like chilli and Bolognese in the SC so once the prepping is done I can forget about it. I’ve also started freezing sides like swede & carrot mash, braised red cabbage, brown rice and pilau. It’s so much easier than starting from scratch for just two portions which wouldn’t be practical with a large swede or cabbage anyway.

Last game of the season today on tv at 4 p.m. So I’ll get everything prepped in advance then I’ll just have to cook the potatoes and veg when the match finishes.

I enjoyed my JP yesterday so I’ll have another for lunch today. I’m getting a bit boring with samey lunches but as long as I’m enjoying them I’m happy. When I’ve used up the bread in the freezer, I’ll definitely try the Nevill’s from Tesco so that if I like it I can add things on toast to my lunch ideas.

    Today’s EE plan-

B- NAS grapefruit (F), scrambled eggs (P), HEB toast, HEA milk

L- JP (F) with cottage cheese (P) and beetroot (S)

D- roast beef (P), SW roast potatoes (F), many, many veg (S)

Syns- HP sauce 1, horseradish 1, HM gravy 4, weekend wine

You are so cool, glad that you used the time of lockdown for good things
Boris could do worse than prescribe SW for everyone. 🤣

Absolutely agree maman.  It seems to work for nearly everyone - I know of a couple of people for who it didn't work but I suspect they didn't really stick to it properly.  I think the main thing is a change of mindset in order for it to work.

I wouldn't worry about having samey lunches either.  As long as you're enjoying what you eat and it's SW friendly it's all that matters.  I like to have lots of variety as I get bored having the same things but there are times when my meals seem to be a bit repetitive, especially breakfasts!

Just finished dinner and the boiled bacon was lovely, although needed to cut off a lot of fat from it (it was an old fashioned piece with the skin on!).  Lots of flavour!  Plenty left to have cold tomorrow with chips, beans, mushrooms & pickles!

Morning all.  Not very nice this morning but the garden needs the rain!  At least it will save watering and hopefully get some water into the water butts for when it's dry!

    Today's plan:

    B - cheese on toast - HEA; HEB; P; F
    L - Spanish omelette, salad - P; S; F
    D - LO boiled bacon, SW chips, beans, mushrooms, pickles - P; S; F

    HEA1 - milk
    HEA2 - cheese
    HEB - bread
Syns - no idea yet!  Will have a few as even with the takeaway I've got syns left if I want something, even if it's a couple of Lotus biscuits with a cuppa this evening!

Morning all, hope you all had a good weekend.  maman I usually repeat the same stuff for breakfasts and lunch because it's easy and I don't have to think too much although I do switch it up a little from time to time.

Happy to report a 2lb loss this week.  That's after a whole day on Saturday where I didn't eat a single fruit or vegetable and felt horrible for it.  In my defence I had planned a lovely SW day but could only stomach my branflakes in the morning without the planned apple and then we went to Ikea and DH bought us hotdogs for lunch and in the evening I was so tired from all the re-organising of our spare room that he went and got fish and chips while I was in the shower.  Had a lovely day in a friend's garden yesterday where they made a really tasty roast chicken accompanied by home grown potatoes and green vegetables.  Spent the afternoon snacking on their blueberry bush as well so a very SW friendly day to make up for the previous days indulgence!  Back on it today though.

B - Porridge (HEB & 1/2 HEA almond milk), strawberries, blueberries
L - Stir fry veg and a fried egg maybe
D - Carbonara (HEA), mushrooms, salad

    Good morning all,

Hope you had good weekends.  Don't they fly by?
First WI for me after a week back on plan and wasn't expecting much of a result, given the very bad eating last weekend (3 takeaways!) which would always be catching up on me.  Anyway, pleased to say I got a respectful -2.5lb loss, which is a big one for me; for those that remember my losses last year.  I'm a 0.5-1lb if I'm lucky kinda gal.
I'm setting small targets for now, so another 3lb and I'm into the next stone bracket.  Then I'll take it a few lbs at a time until I am back where I was this time last year.  Hoping to have achieved that before Christmas.

    Food plan yesterday:
B - melon, banana, 0% yogurt (0.5) (no toast in bed, I had a word with OH and he just brought me a cuppa ;) )
L - wm bagel with lf spread (12); sf jelly (0.5) mango
D - bolognese pasta with onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, 5% mince.  Left to slow cook on the hob all afternoon and it was delish.  cheese sprinkled on top HEA2
    HEA1
I couldn't get bagel thins in my delivery, so haven't counted it as my HEB, although it was the only bread fibre I had today, so I don't feel too bad about it, and they're going to be my weekend treats each week, because I love them!

I would like to do more batch cooking, and have been saving portions for myself to put in the freezer in the past week or two.  I still have to cook for a family of 4, so with the amount of food I have to have in my freezer, there's not much room for much extra.  I have an upright freezer, and all the drawers are full: one for son #4 who cooks for himself sometimes, so fish based stuff; a meat drawer; a veggies drawer; rice & veg. overflow/meat-free/SW frozen meals/saved portions; bread for the week (worker's pack-ups).

Having a food plan for the week is always best for me, so that I know what is being cooked each day.  Sometimes I forget, but tend to have an idea each morning.  I have asked DS#4 to prepare dinners now that he isn't working, as a way of paying his way and also to keep him busy.

Windy and wet outside here today.  Garden is definitely benefiting from the lovely amounts of rain, and as an avid gardener, that makes me happy :D

One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

sary you can have any 60g wholemeal bread as HEB so I'd count it as HEB + 6 if you're not having any other fibre based foods!

You'll soon lose those 3lb bubbs!  You know how to do it, you've done it and far more than 3lb!!!!

What a good start to the week with 2  good losses! Well done ruby and sary. Delighted for you both.
It' grey, damp and miserable here too bubbs. I feel so sorry for people camping. I'm sure you can sort out that 3 lbs soon enough. You're getting enough Body Magic with all the rushing about.
Hope your DS is cooking SW friendly dinners sary.

It'll be interesting to see what Boris comes up with for losing weight. I saw WW mentioned but that may just be press speculation.

    Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit, baked beans (F), fried egg (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- cold meat (P), fried potato (F), veg and pickles (S)
D- baked salmon (P), SW chips (F), mushrooms, tomatoes, tenderstem broccoli (S)
    Syns- none planned
