joedenise said:I wouldn't be surprised if that happened where I live as I'm only a couple of hundred yards from the beach and we get loads of Londoners coming down and the beach is absolutely crowded. We haven't been near it for weeks now because of the over-crowding. But if they do lock us down it won't really be the right area they're locking down as probably 80% of the people aren't local!
I know how much veg and salad you have on your plate bubbs but I just can't eat that much salad. I'm OK with loads of veg but I think I really need the starchy ones to feel full up!then they will all go to another beach!

Replacing swede and carrot mash in a cottage pie is about the only SP dinner I've felt satisfied with denise. It's probably psychological but I expect to have carbs with meals although I do try for 50% Speed. I have cut back a bit by using carrots more. I'll cut some carrot chunks (about new potato size) to roast alongside the potatoes so that cuts back a bit. Also, when I make SW chips I always add some carrot chips to replace some potato ones. It's strange as I never have a problem with a SP lunch, that often happens by accident. I rarely have many potatoes left for frying up on a Monday/Tuesday and other days I'll have an omelette and pickles happily.
We're having dried peas today. I know they're not Speed but after talking about it the other week I fancied some. I called into Asda for own brand 'Smash' on Friday. They didn't have any but I noticed the peas on the shelf. They didn't have grapefruit squash either, stock was very poor. I'm OK for at least one more KFC meal but I'll need some soon.
Today's EE plan-
B- NAS grapefruit (F), fried egg, bacon (P), HEB toast, HEA milk
L- veggie omelette (P,S), ham, cottage cheese (P), pickles (S)
D- roast chicken (P), SW roast potatoes, peas (F), swede, carrots, cauli, broccoli, mixed greens (S)
Syns- HP sauce 1, weekend wine

Afternoon! Had a lovely, blowy day yesterday, went to see someone, with a friend, who has had to self isolate since day 1, she is lucky in that she could move out of London to her late parents flat by the sea, downside is that the lack of contact with those who live close to you generally. Did all good, walk along the sea front, popped into a charity shop, managed to pick up an elephant shaped teapot for a friend, she loves elephants, so will be thrilled at my £4 bargain! We also spoke about the strong likelihood of going into lockdown again, I said that from next week I am going to Costco to stock up on things that the guys at work will need on site, blue towelling rolls, toilet rolls, soap, etc, if I go every 2 weeks (only 5 mins from office), I can build up some stock, but not be selfishly buying, iykwim. That was probably the most stressful thing for me during the early stages of this lockdown, needing to ensure that the boys were safe on site but also having to deal with selfish gits buying stock and selling for a huge profit. Have also started to build some stock for home, as I live alone, I want to be able to protect people if I have to self isolate, so today got a pack of pasta, some shower gel & beans, regular needs, but if just being bought as part of the usual shop, not obvious what I am doing. I hope they won’t be needed for that purpose, but at least I know they won’t go off or to waste.
Downside of yesterday was lunch, of all the options available, pizza was the best, no idea when I had one, thoroughly enjoyed it and it was not very doughy, so was not bloated, I had made coleslaw to take with us, so had some speed. Walked it off afterwards, although I forget how quickly I walk, so it was a bit painful walking slowly! Back on plan today and want to empty the freezer this week, so dinners will be whatever comes out!A smile costs little but creates much0 -
Tonight's dinner was nearer to SP than usual! Just had 3 very small roast potatoes, pork chop and filled the rest of the plate with roasted veg, home grown peas (that's the last of them but we only had a few plants), home grown courgettes panfried in Frylight.
Will try to incorporate extra veg into meals rest of week and cut down on the carbs, although tomorrow's dinner won't be as we're having chips!0 -
We only have small roast potatoes too denise. I always keep the small ones for roasts as the others are used for chips or the largest ones for JPs. 🙂
I enjoyed the dried peas but not worth the soaking and boiling for what's essentially the same as a tin of mushy oeas. 🤔
Sounds like you had a lovely day GTQ. I don't think our chazzas are open yet I must check. 😁0 -
Morning all. another very windy one here but it's still fairly warm, not as hot as it was a week or so ago but much more comfortable. Definitely still T-shirt weather!
Having a Green day today for a change!
Today's Plan:
B - quinoa porridge, strawberries, grapes, banana - F; S (don't understand why quinoa isn't P as it's a high protein food)
L - HM hummus; Ryvita; veg sticks - HEB; P; S; 2 (I always use tahini as it's really needed for the flavour)
D - egg, chips & beans; followed by rice pudding made with almond milk, strawberries - HEA2; P; F; S
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - almond milk
HEB - Ryvita
Syns - tahini 2
Not a lot of Speed today but not really got much until I go shopping again tomorrow. Still have a few easy peelers, a few strawberries but not much veg apart from peppers which I don't really like with egg & chips (I know SW have a recipe for egg, chips & peppers but it's never appealed to me!).

Morning all. Sounds like a lovely day out GTQ and well done on the loss Coxy. Also GTQ we were talking in book club about a second wave and people are starting to build a little stockpile of things just in case everyone goes mental again.
Happy to report a 3lb loss this week and finally back into a more comfortable stone bracket! Only 19lb till target
Had a chilled weekend; watched some films on Saturday because it was raining, had virtual book club, and then yesterday spent a few hours in a friend's garden for a socially distanced catch up. Now back to work this morning but really not feeling it. Might try and book Friday off and then some days next week too as DH has booked 3 days to watch cricket on TV.
B - Porridge (HEB and 1/2 HEA unsweetened almond milk), strawberries, blueberries, 1 syn choc pot
L - Cheese salad (1/2 HEA reduced fat cheddar, mixed leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, peppers, gherkins, beetroot, carrot, onion), 2 syns reduced fat salad cream
D - Stir fry vegetables, noodles, soy sauce, 5 spice, oyster sauce
I've got a tub of halo top peanut butter cup ice cream in the freezer if I feel like a sweet treat in the evenings this week so may dive into that later on. Hope you all have a good day!

Hi everyone,
Well done on the loss Ruby
Went for a 5k run this morning but had to stop at 3.5k as shin splints set in - hobbled home in agony. Not sure whether it’s the trainers (could do with new ones tbh) or road running but boy it hurts!
Food today:
B - 2 weetabix (HEB), skimmed milk (HEA)
L - tuna salad
D - sweet n sour pork fillet, egg noodles (5 syns)
Have a good day all,

Great loss ruby and not too far to target now.
Hope the pain subsides quickly Coxy. Maybe you should avoid the running for a while to allow it to heal properly.
