What about the daily living part?

  • Hi,
    Im new to this.
But thought I should write a quick message about my telephone assessment.
I had my telephone assessment on the 11th May. First ever assessment. It lasted an hour and 20 mins of sometimes repetitive questions.
I didn't think it went well at all. Yesterday, I recieved PIP money in the bank. I'm not sure what award I've been given as the money has arrived before the letter.

Nah only scored four points I was expecting that though. I only expected the mobility anything else would have been a bonus.
    Two on preparing food
Two on bathing only have bath so don't have water good deep in case of fit whilst having one.
Thought I might score on engaging with others face to face as I don't because im anxious of having seizures in fromt of other people. Specialty in crowded places . I don't really socialize I did mention that but didn't score any points . I suppose I could have scored due to anxiety ...but didn't.

  • ^^ I'm surprised you didn't score more than 4 with the number of seizures you have @Gig1968, I scored 11 on care and 12 mobility, most of the descriptors can apply to people with epilepsy on the grounds of "safely and repeatably".

To be honest I was so happy to see a tick in 11f and get the enhanced mobility it didn't sink in for a while.
Having read the report again bit disappointing on the engaging in face to face question. She said I was safe to do that. There iis a risk there of course but it makes me feel anxious as I told her, but it's difficult to explain that you are a walking time bomb when you suffer from frequent seizures. Are you unable to complete the tasks physically or due to the safety aspects? Did like the one comment she said he was able to go to the corner shop. Of course I can but as my seizure level varies and I have allready been collected by the paramedics off the road on the way once in the last year. That comment has no meaning or has no usefulness to the question about engaging with others.

If you have less than £16000 in savings and no other income you should be eligible for Universal Credit. (They don't take PIP into account as income for calculating UC entitlement either.)
