Fayolle I really understand the stress over hospital appointments. DS is only having phone consultations now but he was going in 3 times a week. No idea what happens with the scan he was supposed to have at the end of the month.
DS2 went to work with his Dad yesterday and put in 7 hours of hard graft, he said he enjoyed it and it did him good. DS1 and DH are busy with the garden revamp that we started last year, getting materials is a bit of a challenge but if funds allow I might get some decking this summer.
Dry here, going to bring the washing in and walk the dog before tea I think.10 -
Collected Mr T's 'click and collect', woohoo. Took only 20 mins total to drive there, open boot for staff to load it then drive home. Mr N most impressed, said that's the sort of shopping he likes. I agree mainly except that I can't rummage round the yellow stickers. Sorted groceries and delivered some to neighbour.
SleazyJet have grudgingly put an on-line form (which takes some finding) for a refund rather than the constant barrage of emails asking me to transfer our flight dates to some unspecified time way in the future or wait on the phone for days to contact a call centre. Sent form off and got a reply saying if we hadn't had a refund within 90 days to contact them!!!
Had a long chat with my brother on the phone. SIL still waiting in dread for the phone call about her mum, but she's coping ok. 18 residents plus one staff member was the total according to the internet. Don't know if one of them was Mr N's gym friend.
Dug up more weeds, despite a very minimal bit of rain last night, the ground is like concrete. But big thanks to whoever suggested that I grow my excess peas as pea shoots for salad - they are now a few leaves high so I tried them; delicious.
Mr N and I had a big clear out of 2 'lurking magazine' areas - under the glass table in the lounge and in a magazine rack in the conservatory. Bit bullet and put about 40 assorted flower arranging, wildlife, gardening etc magazines out on the front drive and posted on local FB in the hope that people will want them.
Now going to do more tax return.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Morning
I’ve had a bit of a catch up with the thread so sending lots of hugs needed for difficult times.I have been working all week with 2 days in the office and 2 days wfh. Tuesday was a long day with lots of meetings and I brought work home with me which took until 1130 that night to type up. I’m normally up until that time anyway but it seems to have thrown me this week as I have been exhausted and going to bed as soon as dinner has been cleaned up. One night I was in bed before 9 which is so not like me.
DH has been keeping on top of the washing (including the bedding) and dog walking during the week but not much else. I have had to cook dinner every night which has made me 🤬 a little bit. DD has had 2 of her final assignments to get in this week so has had to complete over 5000 words, one in on Tuesday and one Friday so I’ve not asked her to help at all.
Yesterday I got up and walked into town for some essentials. Most people seem to understand the queuing to get into the shops and the social distancing but some people in the supermarket seem oblivious to the taped lines on the floor. It’s interesting to read some of the articles online looking at the whether the lockdowns are making a difference or not but whatever I think or believe doesn’t matter, I will comply the best I can. Food production is classed as key work so I am having to oblige and go in as asked the rest is up to me. Anyway the shopping was put away and then I walked the dog . I had catch ups with my mum and dad, and younger brother by phone and the spent the afternoon going through a knee high pile of paperwork in my office that has been there for the last couple of months. Dinner was cooked and then had another early night. Have been downstairs this morning with dog who whined at around 630 for a wee, so made a cuppa and returned to bed. Today’s plan is to finish putting away the paperwork in my room and give it a thorough clean and hoover. Then I will try and make a couple of things for DS fiancée’s birthday next weekend. She is a big HP fan so I think I am going to make her a bag with one of the HP shop signs and a HP mandala t-shirt which might take a while. It is also crafting which helps me relax. It will then be dog walk and cooking dinner again. If I get chance I will hoover and dust downstairs as well.
Hope you all gave a good day, the sun is shining here currently so I should get up and make the most of it.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!9 -
Good morning 😁
I didn't post again yesterday, but I did get some stuff done - eventually! I shredded A LOT of paperwork, so that can all be composted at some point. I also sorted through more paperwork, and filed some. I have decided to keep for 6 years (for tax purposes), and anything else can be shredded! I am also filing in years, so I can remove one easily to shred at a later date. Paperwork is a real sticking point for me 🙁 Does anyone else feel they have to keep everything, and can't throw it away without looking at it/reading it first?! It takes ages!! But I have made a start 😊
I also walked the dog, cooked dinner & put on the DW. DH faffed in the loft again, and cut the grass.
Today the sun is shining, so I am going to do some gardening, and maybe go to the allotment. Someone else can walk the dog today!
But first, I need to get up, dressed and have breakfast!
KazM - keep talking to your family. DH needs to know if your struggling, and needs to step up (am I right on thinking he doesn't work?) He probably won't do it unless you tell him! You are working long hours, especially as it's a new job!! Big hugs, and enjoy your crafting session x
Have a good day everyone!9 -

Thanks GI. It is hard and yes he doesn’t work but I’ve learned after 20+ years that you don’t tell him to do anything! I can ask but then I wish he’d done it properly 😆 and tbf he has been down the allotment a couple of afternoons.I still haven’t managed to get washed or dressed yet but have managed breakfast and another cuppa, oh and a poo pick outside, and he is now in the bathroom so I need to kick my own darn arris and get on.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!9

Right, I am showered and hair washed, and load number one is swishing in the WM. Time for eggs on toast, then we will venture out for a walk xx8
-
Kazm - I know what you mean! DH does lots around the house, and I should be grateful. But, some of it, I wish he wouldn't! For example, I am waiting for the WM to finish, and it will be a race to hang it out because he doesn't do it right, and I feel a right b!tch telling him or redoing it!! 😂
Ok - he is eating, I am running to the WM now!!8
