ionafan said:ETA: I keep forgetting to post this link to a really good recipe for cake without eggs, in case asb or anyone else wants to try it. Best left for a few days before eating, so that it goes moist! We are decluttering a small piece of some sort of cake every afternoon with a cuppa and enjoying every morsel This is one that DH asked me to make again. It may not do much for his waistline, but it keeps him happy and therefore helps me to stay sane

Hi all
DS2 asked me this morning if GF might be able to come and stay with us if he cant go there. Answer was obviously no because she might bring the virus into our house, it's breaking the rules, and anyway how I am supposed to feed an extra person? For a very intelligent lad he is being very stupid about this. Cue lots of stomping about which really annoyed me (even though I understand that he is finding all this hard).
Short bike ride with DS1 down the farm track, 7 hrs paid stuff done, chicken pie made, clean washing put away. DH is going to try and persuade DS2 to go to work with him tomorrow (working outside and not in contact with anyone else). It would do DS good I think but I would be surprised if he agrees to it.
Feet up now, catching up with The Nest on iplayer and then reading my book with a nice glass of wine.9 -
Mademoiselle - Your DD has a crazy neighbour! I would be so proud to have a neighbour who worked in that area and would be doing anything I could to make life easier for them. Madness!!
Pigpen - don't be silly...Twinkle can't be going to school!
Valli - a perfect list, thank you, and one that I actually managed! Banana bread made (I don't like it but we had over ripe bananas and everyone else loves it), took shopping to my mum and had a lovely chat with her (I was stood in the middle of her front garden to keep to social distancing), watched a film, nice chat with DD1 and nice chat with neighbours after the 8pm NHS clap...we all seem to have a nice chat on a Thursday which is lovely.
Love to all xx9 -

Another quiet day at work so I went through my Toots Lists book again and added jobs that had materialised since the lists were first written.
At the weekend the plan is to catch up with dailies (cough) and then cross something off the list each day, even if it's a teeny job. Every little helps.
Sleep well ladies

Well we seem to have fallen into a 'pattern' of getting up late, doing some combination of gardening, tax return, flying, keeping on top of DW/WM, walking dog, running/cycling/online exercise, too much time on the tablet doing jigsaws (me), polishing motor bike (Mr N), ringing/texting/emailing friends and relatives, eating and watching mainly but not exclusively old Midsomer Murders! Still mainly feels surreal, like a perpetual weekend interspersed by horrible sadness.
Today my poor SIL is completely in despair as her mother's care home (5 miles from me and 100 miles from SIL) has lost 16 residents to the virus, not sure if this figure includes the several staff who also lost their lives. SIL's mother is currently virus free although extremely frail but now bewildered and lonely, feeling the loss of her friends. Apparently there was plenty of PPE so that wasn't an issue, and the staff are well respected and dedicated. On SIL's birthday last week one of the staff organised a video phone call for her so she could see and speak to her mum. We are fortunate as Mr N's mum and her care home don't have any virus; they are also well supplied with PPE, we rang this morning to see if they needed anything or if there was anything we can do to help.
Hugs to all.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.11 -
Another day which seems to have flown by!
WUDUPA X 2, printed off account information, paid credit card, baked a lemon drizzle cake & sausage rolls using up filo pastry, then had a siesta 😁
Yesterday just seemed to whizz by in video calls, catching up with lovely ladies who normally meet up for a coffee & then having our ‘fat club’ video call.
Take care everyone x'Money and good health is coming easily to Flypeople'8 -
Morning all.
Work day from home today.
Yesterday evening I indulged in watching the National Theatre Live production. That’s not something that I would have taken the time to do before, but I think it even counted as part of Valli’s list, so win-win.Having a wobble day atm, perhaps work is a good thing today.
Have a lovely safe day all x9 -
Another nice day here by the looks of it. I count myself lucky, I have a house, garden, food and wine and although both my DDs are away they are well as are OH and I. So no excuses not to get on with clearing up this house. To be fair I have sorted lots out and most of it has been well cleaned and I am keeping on top of it (not sure how it will go when I go back to work, but that is still a little while away.
So far today
Bed made, clothes picked up
Bathroom wiped down
WM on
HHI and put away
Recycle out and bin too, new bag put in
DW on WU done
Banking check next with coffee.
