Everyone seems to be missing the point of this thread - i was mislead!

Banking groups share data. You only have yourself to blame. With 3 concurrent applications you would have tripped a red flag alert.

Yes i realise they are part of the same group and share data but again not the point. Explained it in my previous post, the three applications have nothing to do with the point i am making. I was rejected before the second application!

I have been a customer with Lloyds Bank for about 40 years and whenever I have applied for a new card with them I have never found a hard search on my file.  You may have said in a previous post but have you actually checked your report to see if they actually did appear on any of them. If they do not show up it may help you to get a card from another provider.

A current account upgrade doesn’t mean you’re now guaranteed a credit card.

So , every card you have been soft searched for, offered you less and on worse rates and that wasn't an indicator that  you perhaps are not their desired client( look at it as you like - bank has a right to chose whom they lend and they do use that right ) and still kept going after you got rejected first time, then second time and now you feel robbed .... As previously stated, with 3 concurrent application to the same banking group it was red flagged as desperate for credit and  - as for " may credit file is fine" apart from old CCJ and defaults... - I don't want to say anything to make you feel more " robbed " so lets just leave it there. Use your bank account responsibly, clear any debt you might have, if possible build a little saving ( with what you 'd have spend on card repayments that you did not manage to get ) and apply for ONE card in about 6 months. And in the mean time use you bank account responsibly - I mean don't rely on overdraft and try to get more money in than out or break even , so bank can see that you can manage financially. Sad but true - the more you really need credit, the harder it is to get it and other way round. But bank is in business to make money and if you display pattern of behaviour that indicate to them any likelihood of default , they will simply not lend money ( or accept  you for any credit account ). You might  "feel "robbed , but any lender is trying to protect themselves from actually being so called robbed by defaults. Sometimes is a fine balancing act to attract customer who won't default but get in debt and pay loads in interest by the time they clear their credit card and this time you  simply been singled out as a too high a risk. No one gets every card they apply for or want, perfect credit score and high bonity client might have the same problem ( as lender think that they can't make any money of of  those clients ... it happens quite often ) , so use it as a learning experience and move on.

Very true - i am just frustrated at wasting my time with the soft check acceptance.

I think i will wait until 2021 now. Clear all my searches and clear some debt of my existing cards before applying to lloyds again
