    Hi Pink

The only one I could think of was using 2 cereal boxes to make a guitar. Turn both boxes inside out and paste them back together again as cereal boxes. Cut a circle out of one and put rubber bands around it (loose ones) and then cut the side panels out of the other box, glue them together (so that the plain sides are the outsides of both sides) and make lines across them like frets. Glue to the main square cereal box with the circle in it. Hope this makes sense!

Happy St Andrew's Day - we are on the haggis and neeps tonight.

Just home from work so a quick scrabble round on the 'puter. Our IT guys have done their work, things just the same I can read but can't see who has thanked folk or thank anyone either. That means of course if I try to pm or post there is no formatting at all.

CrazyC - hope you head is better. My parcel was here when I got home and I couldn't wait to open it! Wow, they are fantastic, thank you ever so much and will pm you later.

Aussie - sorry to hear about DH. Keep us informed about how he is doing. Mrs Mac - thought you hadn't been around. Hope you don't overdo it. Mrs M - glad to hear you can drive again. After my 'incident' and couldn't drive for 4 weeks I know how frustrating it can be. Roz - glad the boss did the right thing but things have to be firmed up for next month. Catz - well done. Hillstep - sorry about your parents. Scuzz - I am sure the worst must be over. 2008 is bound to be a good year. MeanM - hope you are OK - I haven't had a chance to pm you lately.

Musical instrument - comb and bit of OS bog roll??????????????

Sorry if I haven't mentioned you all but you do know I care very much about everyone on this thread.

Well, just about to go and put the travel cot up, make up the boys' beds, dig out the steriliser and have done a Boots list for new teats, dummies, new weaning spoon, Size 3 Pampers, etc etc!! DGS1 phoned after nursery this morning just to make sure I was remembering they were all staying over tomorrow and had I remembered to get some pear in a jar for Finlay!!!! He is so good with the baby. I know I will be tired on Sunday night but DH and I just adore having them to stay.

    Love GB xxxx

POOKY - I was very impressed with SKY and wrote to thank them, after my installation. I love the little blue socks the man put on over his shoes! They did an excellent job. The box stopped playing back after about 14 months - I had taken out the Sky Care Plan which they will offer you just before the first year's guarantee expires, and they replaced the box for me. The care plan costs £8.25 a month which I know is extra but I have already benefitted. I have also found them really helpful when I have needed to call them. did you get Sky+ - it's brilliant.

A little tip for you ;)

You don't really need to pay all that extra money for the extended guarantee, although obviously they aren't going to tell you this. If anything goes wrong you just need to ask them to cancel your account due to having faulty equipment that you can no longer use as you can't afford to have it repaired. They will then, usually, arrange to replace/repair said faulty equipment free of charge rather than lose you as a customer, especially if you're on one of the higher paying packages

    Afternoon,

Catznine...congratulations on your job, hope that it goes well.

Pipkin....you really do well out of those chickens, congrats.

We had some lovely lamb chops for dinner ( told DGS2 they we crocodile and he loved them, said he didn't want lamb!) courtesy of DD4, who had a small windfall and gave me some money...not sure how she manages her money but seems to have the knack of making it stretch a long way. Enjoyed the chops as a treat because they cost €15.94!! that's about £11.50, so way more than we could normally afford for dinner...this country is awash with sheep but we have to pay through the nose for it...rant over.

Aussie, hope that OH's surgery goes well and that he is well enough to enjoy Christmas.

Sorted sons out for Cmas today...3 very exciting leather belts, just different sizes!

Hope that you all enjoy the weekend

I can vouch for this also, as the same thing happened to me a few months ago! I said I was going to cancel, and explained the box was faulty. They came out within 2 days and replaced the box! At no extra cost! Plus I got a further 90 days warranty on the equipment they installed!

Third time lucky posting - what a lot I had to say this morning - most of it forgotten now sadly

Have had my letter from HMRCS (aka the Department of Losing Stuff and then Stating the Bleedin' Obvious)

tried to book the tickets for our trip to holland in january. Our preferred option is a train-ferry-train combo which used to be dead cheap but is now much more expensive than flying. then I find a flight on easy jet but it all went wrong with the booking - I need to leave it a couple of days and then check my bank acocunt to make sure i'm not double booking.

a witness kicked off in court today - that's happened every day this week - next week I will be in the office so should be a lot quieter. That's the good news - the bad news is that I have to go in on Monday - normally my day off. There is a work related climate change seminar in central london and I need ot change my non-working day for next week or I won't get my travel paid or the time credited. As the seminar doesn't start till lunch time I will go in for an hour or two in the morning and the same in the afternoon and then take a day off later in the month

hugs to those who need one and fingers crossed that I finally get to post today

    hello all

rain and more rain not too cold though, well thats two huge pots of golden vegetable soup made for tomorrows soup and sweet, have to be there for 10am starts at midday, theres going to be some stalls, face painting, games, raffles etc so hope we are busy, we provide free transport for our group so its pricey and need to top up our funds
one of the mums has made up fancy clear bags of reindeer food for 50p each, just porridge oats and glitter mixed, looks good though

the 44p smartprice bags of chopped frozen veg has worked well in the soup though i added some fresh veg too, the bags contain carrots, peas, brocolli and cauliflower cut small

Well dh car PASSED THE MOT!!!! So today just keeps get better and better, went to tescos for a few bits and came out £100 lighter!! But have got loads of the xmas shop in, only have a few bits and fresh items to get now.
Dh and all 3 boys at footy training and dd has fell to sleep on sofa, so enjoying a peacefull 10 mins on here.
DD Xmas fair was ok, she saw santa and got a lovely book for a £1, then bought a guitar and singing rudolf toy for 50p. School cook was doing hot food so we all had some chips and mushy peas, followed by chocolate cornflake buns, it is only a small school but the kids love the xmas fairs no matter how small.
Plans for tonight, have a bath and watch celeb final, i dont know who i want to win, either biggins or janice.
    Have a great night everyone

    Evening everyone:santa2:

I've been a busy bee today, although I'm starting to feel it now. I've just had some painkillers and a nice cup of tea, and thought I would have a nose for a few minutes - see what you're all up to.:D

Well, asda arrived around 5 and most things have been put away. Two of the chickens are cooking now and I'm about to chop up the other two. They're slightly smaller than the last lot I ordered [same price though] so I will see what we can get out of it and report back.

For some reason, the WM is not rinsing the powder off the clothes, so when I take them out, there is still residue. I've tried using less powder but no joy, so I don't know what's going on there. Just had to put the load back on:mad:

Your soup sounds lovely twink. I've made some every now and then but DDs don't really like soup, although DD2 will eat plain bachelors chicken cup soup. Anything with chunks of veg in and they run a mile.

Interesting about the sky insurance - I'm assuming it's the repair protection. I pay £6 something per month for this, and I've only claimed once in the 6 years I've had it - but at almost £70 per year

Happy St Andrew's Day grannybroon :T

The rain's pelting down here now, so I'm glad we're all indoors and girls have no clubs or anything tonight.

Looking forward to the celebrity final. Hoping Janice wins:j
