    Morning all!

ELLIE - I feel for you with the bad back! I'm suffering at the moment as well and unfortunately they say your back, once injured, is never the same. Well 2 years on, they are certainly proving themselves correct!

ROZ - I think that is so disgraceful! Please let us all know how you get on with the boss. If you like the job, reconsider handing in your notice, just try to offer solutions to his lack of organising the salaries if you can, rather than just leaving. Its hard to get a decent job these days and especially around christmas.

HESTER - With regards to your mention of your 'x rated' blog to me the other day and not wanting to give me the link, well i'm afraid you would be too late my friend and may I just say that I love your blog! :o:D

HUGS to all those who are poorly or have poorly children at the moment. Never underestimate the power of positive thinking! You will get better and you have to believe it! It sounds all hokey pokey gibberish, but it does work if you believe! ;)

Stil in bed with the bad back but feeling a bit better today! Yesterday I discovered something that I plan on doing soon and it made my day! (Little things you know)

I have several canning jars I haven't used (some quite large) and so what I saw yesterday and what I plan on doing is using some of them now to store things like 'cookies in a jar' or 'soups in a jar' essentially to make my simple life of home style cooking a bit faster and easier. Here are some links to what I was looking at yesterday:

    http://www.allhomemadecookies.com/recipeindex/cookiesinajar.htm

    http://allrecipes.com/Search/Recipes.aspx?WithTerm=soup+in+a+jar

and I liked this too: http://www.almanac.com/food/foodgifts.php

    Take care everyone!

    Goodmorning everyone,

Bit pooped tonight. It's been a big day. DH received a letter from the surgeon and he's booked in for his surgery on Dec 10th. Which isn't that far away. Got his cat scans today as they had the day off. So that's done. They plan on breaking up the 20th for 2 weeks so DH will just get time off from the 10th. He'll tell them on Monday.

Had to wait for the x-rays which took 2 hours  so hit the shops then. Got a good load of food and plan on making my xmas pudding & cake next week. OS arrived home and all hands on deck tomorrow moving them out. :D There's a Childrens Christmas Party on the island tomorrow from 12 - 3pm so we'll take DGS. Santa is coming. ;) Poor old Santa gets a bit hot over here. :D

PenPen Is that another avatar you have? It looks like Darcy running for his life. I suppose Mouse is chasing him. :D Poor little chooky.
    Hester Thats crook news.
JackieO Glad to hear you nose has stopped a bit. Whenever I get a runny nose. Cold sores appear. Very fetching look. Good luck with DGD. ;)
    Mrs Mix :hello: :D
    Roz
If the bank doesn't come to the party maybe your parents could lend you some money until pay day so your rent will still be taken out seeing as it's your first one. Hope you get it sorted out asap.
I hope you all have a lovely day & ((hugs)) to those not feeling well. Off for a bit of a surf. DH is watching some horrible violent movie on dvd. Too nerve wracking for me. Byeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning all,

RozV, I hope your wages get sorted out. As others have said, it doesn’t seem right that they can pay you when they want.
Hester, how dreadful for your colleague to lose someone in such a tragic accident.
JenniO, I hope your back feels better soon.
ellie, I hope you get on ok with your boss on Monday.
catznine, Congratulations on getting your job back.
redruby, have a great time tomorrow.
Mrs Mcawber, well done on the weight loss.
taurusgb, I am so glad someone else hates cleaning windows as much as I do! I feel a bit of an OS fraud because I detest housework in any shape or form. It’s a necessary evil in my book. It doesn’t help that my darling sister (Haribo) is a bit obsessive about it! ;):D

Speaking of which it’s a housework day for me today. :( I’ve tidied the kitchen and swished the bathroom already and parked the vacuum in the hall so I’ll have to use it or trip over it. I want to get it all done today, because Christmas starts for me tomorrow. Unlike all you organised people, I refuse to even think about Christmas until the first of December. I know it probably sounds mad, but that’s the way I like it, otherwise it seems too long and drawn out.

Ds2 has to make a musical instrument for school next week…so I’ve been trawling the internet for ideas. His favourite so far is an African tambourine which involves papier mache…so it looks like we’ll be trashing the kitchen again this weekend. If anyone has any simpler ideas I’d really appreciate them.

Off to pour another coffee and have a think what to make for tea.

I hope you all have a good day.

  • Good morning.

Just a quickie from me:D (tired out from chasing Darcy!:rotfl: Thanks Aussie:p ) Pink I'm in the same housework team as you, so today I must have a go at it:o Mrs Mcawber , there is no way your house can be more than mildly in need of attention:p I think you'd die on the spot if you saw mine:eek: Well done on the weightloss, but sorry you've been ill.

Babysitting DGSs from late afternoon until goodness knows what time tonight/tomorrow early hours. Should be fun once DGS2 has got over mummy leaving, as he's rather clingy at the moment.

JackieO, glad you're feeling a bit better. It's that constantly running nose that so annoys isn't it?

Aussie glad DH will have his op soon. That'll be fun, [STRIKE]having him constantly under your feet[/STRIKE] enjoying his company full time until after Christmas:D

Mrs mix, haven't you done well after your op:D You seem to have recovered very quickly, but you strike me as very determined. Don't go doing too much. Are you out of pain yet?

PenPen, glad it wasn't quite so bad for your friends. Must still have been rotten though. Teenage boys eh?

Well for a quickie this has gone on a bit:rotfl:

Hugs to the sad and poorly,

    CMx
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
  • Should be loading the WM and making a carrot cake by now but I couldn't resist having a look to see whats going on in all your lives. :)

MrsMcawber - well done! :T That may have given me just the motivation to stop talking about losing weight and get down and do it. I'm as wide as I am tall. :o

Was up at 6.30 attacking the ironing pile, so I'm feeling somewhat saintly ;) , however..... the kitchen looks like an explosion has occured and I've spotted the meter reader doing the rounds. Why do they never come when the place looks great.

    Take care all.

Well I've had several grovelling phone calls, and my boss is, as I type, withdrawing the wages in cash from his account and is going to make a trip down the high street to pay them in to each of our accounts. He's coming in later and we're going to have a big meeting about how the finances are handled. I'm really concerned that this may happen again next month, and what with all the bank holidays around Xmas, the situation could be much worse! I like the people I work with, but the job itself is monotonous, but I don't want to leave as they've promised me a job whilst I'm back at uni for my MSc, and also a promotion to be the HR person when I graduate. Fingers crossed, and thanks for all the help and support!!

Haven't read the thread properly but will do so now and post a wee bit later when I know the money is def. in my account!!

Bit later than usual, can't motivate myself today. OH appeared last night so I've got him for an extra day!:j
Had a bad day with Mum Weds. She was so depressed, and she was in floods of tears, so was I. This illness is awful. She was calling to her Mother at one point, and I had to leave the room. My poor Dad is in bits too, he's coping, but only just. She seemed better yesterday, and the dietician is coming today, so maybe we can get some ideas how to help her eat.

DS has just emerged from his pit:rotfl: at least he's wearing thePJ's I bought him yesterday!
Xmas pressie shopping is finished, just got to cellophane the baskets now:T

Well, must try and do SOMETHING today!

    Enjoy it!:T

And me! I hate windows, too.

MRS MIX - well done on being a bit more mobile now but please, don't overdo it, tempting though it must be!

CRAZYCHIK - That's a long time for chips to take; they should take about 25 mins in a fan-assisted oven. Hopefully, there's nothing wrong with the oven but, knowing your luck - which is a bit like mine - you've probably got a faulty one! I'd phone the manufacturer and tell them how long the chips took and see what they say.

AUSSIE - Good luck to your OH; over here he wouldn't even be on the waiting list for another year!

CATOWEN - enjoy putting your decorations up!

ELLIE - hope your back gets better - take it easy.

ROZ - let us know how you get on. Thinking of you.

Well, I've gone mad getting organised in readiness for my sister and her DH this weekend. I had intended going shopping first thing but got carried away. I just need to wrap SIS's birthday present up for Sunday and my DS2's for Thursday, write out my shopping list then hit the shops. My visitors always like to mooch round our charity shops so we'll do that tomorrow, I expect. I also have just three more presents to get so will do that tomorrow. I've bought a couple of things for my DH but I'll buy some more when I know how much money I've got left from my Christmas budget (that's a laugh - I call it my Christmas budget but rarely stick to it!).

Anyway, I must go and get a wiggle on.

Will drop in later. Is it me or is everyone feeling more Christmassy today?
