I think it would be inadvisable to hand over any of the buyers’ information voluntarily. What on earth do you think Hewitsons are going to do with it all? If they send letters to all 100 demanding the trainers be sent to them or a legal declaration that they no longer have the trainers in their possession, you’re going to have some very annoyed buyers. Ignoring whether they care they’ve been sold fake items, they’re all going to be upset at any expense and inconvenience to them. You were acting as a business. You’re bound by the Data Protection Act. It’ll only take a small number of your 100 to complain, and you could have the Information Commissioner’s Office breathing down your neck, as well as these solicitors.

You could offer to try to contact the buyers yourself. You should tell the solicitors to obtain any information on the buyers directly from eBay, as the information they hold will be more complete and up-to-date. The opposite to voluntarily is when a court orders you to do so. That would make it ok.

Reading through the posts, I couldn’t see how it could get any worse. Then you came up with this. Have the solicitors accepted that your sister is not in any way involved? In the worst case, she’ll be taken to court along with you.

WHY WHY WHY are you wasting time helping a scammer??

How many posts have we seen here of people scammed out of their hard earned cash buying counterfeit goods!!!

Perhaps thats the problem.. Too many good folk in the World happy to help others.

Someone posts on MSE and we all try to help! it's in our nature.

Good to see the tide turn on the OP though. For months acting as the scammer but once cornered, trying to swap sides.

If you can't do the time..............!!!

For god sake listen to yourself!! I can't..... I wont.... I am a student..... I hear nothing but excuses for why you can't do ANYTHING!!! Get off your student back side and seek legal advice... Stop sitting there waiting for someone to offer you a free ride. ONLY YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIONS!!

I'm sure Nike have bigger fish to fry than waste their time trying to prosecute a small time ebay swindler.

They have, that's why they get solicitors to do it. The seller might be 'small fry' but Ebay isn't, that's why companies like ike employ people to put a stop to it.

  • Perhaps one of the poor souls that you ripped off is trying to get back at you for selling them shoddy goods by fabricating the fake letter hoping your gullible enough to send them money

He has admitted to selling at least a hundred pairs of fake Nike trainers, in their eyes that could just be the tip of the iceberg. Of course they will go after him, and he deserves what he gets.

If they do go after him for damages it would be a lot more than a few thousand pounds.

  • For me the OP has shown no remorse to his buyers for his actions. It's all about poor him. What about the people he has conned?
