As planned, we had the second pair of burgers last night - twice in a week; shocking!
I am out tonight and tomorrow night with start of the month hobbies so early supper planned here. A pack of pasta with as much cauliflower and broccoli as I can fit in the pan, and some olive oil to stop it all sticking. I might stretch to a dollop of pesto for a little saltiness too.
Not sure tomorrow. I might need to shop...Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Oh dear @redofromstart & @EssexHebridean - I suppose I shouldn't admit to not liking chips either? I can just about handle skinny fries & if necessary waffle chips and smiles (3 year old taste)!
So last night we had MrL version of fish & chip dinner. I bought a bag of salad to start and had that with yummy miso vinaigrette! Gusto style salt & pepper dusted Basa filets zig zag oven fries with cheap/free pain au raisin & greek yogurt for dinner. That entire lot only cost 6pounds (not the feared 15+ at the chippy) and there are left over oven chips for another day or two. OH offered me the option of MrL version of smiles but we compromised with the textured chips.
Tonight is chicken night - I might be able to convince OH to have make thai curry and rice (with a salad starter) if I get home early enough, but if not I fear the local grill will be getting our business. I must remember to do our order online enroute from the station, as the deputy manager at the grill does not speak or understand more than a smattering of English and gave us the wrong burgers last time which really got my goat! At first we thought it was my Canadian accent, but then he didn't understand either OH's posh BBC or rather colloquial London accents either so we gave up! Online will be the way to go, as the order goes straight o the kitchen to get filled! At least with chicken from the grill, I get my side salad and OH gets he side order of chips & no compromises need to be made! Day two of my crazy week - 5 more to go!

Hope you are ok with the crazy week rtandon?
the beef stew was ok, and we followed it with chicken risotto last night to use the just starting to go wonky Parmesan. Tonight was jacket pots with beans, cheese and sausages. Excellent tasting potatoes (Mr M best - Suraya I think) and the end of the open cheddar used up.
I need to urgently make space in the freezer for next week (mr L frozen pretzel for the youngest who would happily live on them) so I got a half shoulder of lamb out to defrost for me. Might do some of those Greek yoghurt flat breads and make it into some sort of kebab. Plenty of cabbage and salad, in fact I had HM coleslaw for lunch. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Have got out a couple of salmon fillets from the freezer for tonight which I'll cook in the Remoska with some onions, courgette (if I can get any today) and peppers which some fennel seeds wrapped in foil. Will serve with some herby couscous.3

@redofromstart - hanging in there hun! - thanks for asking!
@joedenise - I had to g00gle Remoska - every day is a school day! I'd never even heard of one.
Wednesday was a late one - arrived in our town just after 8pm - promptly put in an order with the grill and drove over to pick-up - a bit of a wait as they were really busy, but by 8:30 we were home with a piping hot roast chicken and 4 assorted sides. The family meal is always good value and feeds us for several meals. Delicious & just what was needed.
Last night I got home a bit earlier at 7:30 and we decided to eat leftovers - OH had another portion of the grilled chicken with corn and salad (of all things) - that man is a mystery sometimes! I had the rest of Sunday's roast lamb on a tortilla that was left from the fajitas we made last week - openface topped with salad and sauces we had in the fridge. It was healthier and no spend!
Today I'm working from home & as crazy as it's been workwise we've managed to have brunch from what's in the house - omelet & seeded pita for OH - chicken & salad & seeded pita for me. Not sure what's on the menu for the rest of the day, but it will be sourced from home as we've decided to skip our Waitflower yellow-sticker hunt given that money has already been spend on take-away twice this week. Dinner probably won't be pizza as we are out of crust and toppings. I'm thinking quesadillas as we have no shortage of tortillas and cheese, might even be a good use of the last portion of chicken and an excuse to open a jar of salsa verde!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I made oat cakes using a recipe @foxgloves posted. I used oat bran rather than blitzing the jumbo oats, and I expected them to flatten like Twinks hobnobs do but they didn't. I flattened the second tray with my fingers. I should have rolled them out and stamped them with a cutter. A live and learn moment! Very tasty with Za'tar herb mix and quite healthy, for all that.
It was Sainsbugs TTD Fish Finger last night - they were lovely, with oven chips and peas. What a treat! all because, one of us omitted to get anything out of the freezer and I was off out before 19.00

Have just checked the recipe for the Mediterrean salmon and it actually isn't done in foil at all! The veg gets cooked in stock in the bottom of the Remoska and then the salmon is added later to steam once the veg is softened. Not sure about having couscous with it as planned because I used couscous to stuff the peppers at lunchtime. Think I'll add some chopped potatoes into the bottom of the Remoska to cook alongside the veg before the salmon goes in.

I was looking at things to do with the lamb when I spotted a Jamie O recipe for gnarled lamb. It triggered my inner Granny Weatherwax (gnarly country) and I like the crispy bits best so lamb duly slashed but I used the free sample shawarma seasoning and used a carrot as a trivet rather than actually follow his recipe.I've also just put the diced and oiled stale end of the good bread in to make croutons while the oven is on.I was really pleased to buy a very local honey today. I am now craving fresh white crusty bread and honey. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Just catching up on all the postings
Had a near disaster this week. An upright freezer went on the blink. I don't go in it every day and my hearing isn't as sharp as it used to be so it was a couple of days before I realised anything was wrong.
Thank goodness for 'next day delivery' By the time it had arrived, settled and got down to temperature 3 days had elapsed. Things had started to go a bit soft .Fortunately the freezer was full to bursting, no meat, mainly fruit and veggies so I'm taking a chance.
I've replaced the upright with a chest freezer, cheaper to buy and I believe cheaper to run. 62L less capacity but I managed to get everything in it. I've had to put it in the utility room for the moment as the broken one was the furthest away in a line of four. The room is like a wide corridor going to the boiler room, just five foot wide with some water pipework down one side so the other freezers will have to come out before the broken one can be moved.
I've started to think laterally and maybe I should use it store jars and other things!!!
Tonight and out of the other freezers
YS corn beef crispbakes, probably chips and a salad followed by HM black cherry icecream which needs using up. A quick, easy no fuss tea. - phew3
