As I ought to have predicted not quite half the veg survived to be rolled forwards to tonight, so I'll supplement by slicing the remaining courgette and flash-frying that to bulk things out. The falafels will warm in the air fryer, and I'll probably use the yogurt and mint sauce that there is a bottle of in the fridge to help everything adhere to the wraps and not be quite so messy to eat (it's that or making a spiced mayo by mixing in some smoky chilli sauce that needs using). I'm going to do them taco style I think as the wraps I bought were just the mini ones.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Oh gosh @zafiro1984 I bet he is in the doghouse! Mine is exactly the same and doesn't seem to notice when anything is boiling over, they live in their own little world!
We are doing well reverse meal planning and using as much as possible from the freezers. This week we've had YS fish cakes, pasta sauce using last summers tomatoes - nearly down to the last batch now, and tonight its chicken curry, clearing about 3 boxes when I've made too much and frozen them. I'm looking forward to seeing what else is lurking in there.5 -
Ooh fishcakes - Fiona you've reminded me that my storecupboard still has some tins of salmon bought when Lil's had it on offer, so as we still have plenty of 8p tatties from christmas...! As for last summer's tomatoes - I thought I had used my final tub from the freezer earlier this week, but found one more when I was digging through for something else!
Ladies - brace yourself. On my list for Friday is seeing if I can get freezer two emptied into freezer 1 and then turned off...🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Good luck with that EH! I need to tidy mine so I can see how many of the part baked frozen pretzels I can squeeze in. Only I was in MrL yesterday (using my free veg before it expired) and they already had the alp stuff in the freezers but no pretzels, so I hope I haven't missed them but the leaflet does say 13th.
Yesterdays mince was smelly and grey when I opened it, my own fault as it had been in the fridge for at least a week. We had jacket pots from the new bag, with variations on cheese/beans/HM coleslaw/ham/sausages instead. Tonight will be ham, egg, wedges and peas. The wedges will use up the last of the old bag of potatoes.
I also cooked some forgotten salad potatoes for potato salad which will also use the spring onions, and made up enough coleslaw base to have it another few days yet. I was going to make pea and ham soup but I have used all the dried peas without replacing them, so I will look back through for rtandons recipe which I believe used split peas instead. Very much soup weather here.

Thanks @rtandon27 that is a great recipe and makes me think it is the same one my grandma used to make. She lived in Canada for a few years before being widowed and she made hers with yellow split peas and a ham hock. It was lovely and we used to joke you could stand your spoon in it as it was so thick. Brings back many happy memories3

@EssexHebridean - yup - they are 2.49 for 10, but having just checked the online flyer for each of our two locals, many of the alps products appear to be marked as delayed (including the frozen goods) - best check before making a special trip!
@fionaandphil - the soup is definitely stick to your ribs hearty winter fare, I'm not surprised a spoon would stay upright. TBH, I just add extra water as my very English OH likes soups to be a bit thinner rather than have a stew-like consistency!
The other thick soup I quite enjoy is a New England clam chowder. I've just discovered that Waitflower does clams in the shell frozen, so may add them to the wish list as the bottled ones are in brine which rather spoils the taste of the chowder!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Thanks for the heads up on the delay, and the soup recipe @rtandon27 It made me look at the leaflet on the big screen, and I have spotted pistachio kernels at £3.29 for 300g which I think is a good price too.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese
