Oh God I won't bother then. It mentioned salads and wraps etc and was afternoon pick up. £12 to £13 of cakes and cookies for £3 is a waste of £3 for me

I am also going to remove Olio which I only installed yesterday. Cellophane packaging, 90% used toiletries, wonky umbrellas, free firewood consisting of laminated old furniture and all a 4 mile round trip walking. Nearest food hero is 5 mile round trip walking and mostly bread which I don't eat and mostly after 9pm

The costalot on my way home from work usually puts 3-4 sandwiches in the bag - the manager is always very kind and asks if I have a preference of the ones he has left.  I've never had cakes or cookies from them but on the other hand no salads either!

I’m sorry to hear of all of your wasted journeys for the TGTG bags. Or poor contents. The local cooop tend to list daily but then if they get to the end of the day and can’t make a meal from the bag they won’t sell it which is good in a way. However means things are then still going to waste.

I have a few people over Sunday for coffee and cake so I may pick up a costalot bag or starbs one if there are usually cookies or cake. For 5 people it may provide enough!

I managed to reserve the Morrison’s bag last night and got such a haul today I was really surprised. I won’t need a fruit or veg box at all next week and that’s kinda nice to know there is enough in :) I took a picture but due to everyone else’s bad experiences today I won’t share 🙃

Glad you had a good experience with a Morries bag @MissRikkiC with a good haul!  I was beginning to regret mentioning TGTG bags!

Honestly really happy I persevered so thank you but equally so much went in the freezer I may only do 1 a week so that I don’t have to prep so much again!

I'm just really surprised at the difference in tgtg bags.
I got a Gregg's one on Monday, it was really good, I shared it with my parents for £2.59 it really was great value, 2 filled baguettes, grapes, 4 sausage rolls, donuts and brownies.
I picked one up on the way home from work tonight, a different Greg's, £2.99 this time. 1 sausage roll, 1 steak bake, 1 tuna roll, 2 donuts.

It really is a lottery, a bit like a lucky bag, when we were youngsters.🙂

Oh gosh I’d forgotten about lucky bags! I think I only had a couple as my mum felt they were too expensive! Off to google as my memory is vague at best!

Your mum was right @MissRikkiC; lucky bags were indeed very poor value for money!  Very few little sweets in a bag which was much too big for them!

@joedenise No don't, I will try again, but I will plan a bit more. DS was very happy with his - four wraps/sandwiches which are very much his thing. I have just booked another Morries bag and I need a couple of other things that I was going to leave until March but can collect (assuming I take my list this time!  :/) and I have people coming for dinner tomorrow so I will pick up shallots (rather than use big chopped onions) and some dry goods to make sure the trip is not wasted. I have just ordered flowers but I might just pick up a bunch or two too.

We eat out yesterday so it was chicken in a roll for supper - no signs of DH snacking remains this morning which must mean the restaurant filled him up more than I do normally 🤔
