Stores seem to be groaning here so we're all having different dinners ronight to use various bits up - I shall be having some very old steak from.the freezer turned into beef in black.bean sauce with some ancient shallots and peppers from.the fridge thrown in. It shall probably make enough for at least 2 lunch sized portions as well as dinner tonight- which is nice and easy for later in the week for me :).

More pasta for me tonight, using up some mushrooms and eggs in a carbonara and will have a bit of salad on the side so I'm not feeling like I'm overloading on carbs!

Not sure if my latest food adventure counts as reverse planning - but have just discovered the 2g00d2go app! C0stas is on my way to the train home - for 3 pounds a bag of sandwiches which will be tomorrow's lunch for OH and myself. 3 sausage sandwiches and a cheese and tomato toastie! Not bad value for zero cooking effort.

I have that app downloaded on my phone too @rtandon27 but all the places near me sell out really quickly and I never seem to be checking at the right time 😆

Having jacket potatoes for dinner tonight which will probably use up the last of the potatoes in the cupboard along with a couple of tins of tuna or beans depending on what we decide to top them with.

We've still got two leeks from the glut of a few weeks ago!  I'm not feeling the love & having a hard time working them into the meal plan - 🤣

Today's lunch will be assorted bits we've not finished of the weekend - chicken thighs, greek pork skewers, pita bread, roast summer veg & coleslaw.  Surprised we have to much left to use up, as weekends are usually the time we finish up all the bits and pieces!
What fabulous leftovers! I think I would be steaming the leeks and adding them to the chicken as a pie filling

I was going shopping today but have most of what I need to make the lunch for 20 for Friday (the ragu will go in the slow cooker today) and I will charge back based on today's prices. In the meantime I made cauliflower cheese and sliced up the leftover cooked potatoes (from the garden) on top and sprinkled on grated cheese - that was rather yummy actually!

By the time we got back last night we were talking about going out but DH was completely crackered so I did a simple cheese salad and he fell asleep shortly afterwards. A simple low-key weekend I hope with simple low-key food.

Sometimes simple and low key is the best way @Suffolk_lass

Tonight we're having chicken katsu curry, using up some chicken that I found in the freezer.  Going to pickle some red onions to top it with.

We've been slowly using up our freezer & cupboard stores to base our meal plans round and can now actually see a dent in both with 1/2 empty drawers and less cans on the shelves.

We did however discover 3 different mustards and several cans of fruit that I honestly don't remember buying! As we already have 2 open jars of mustard in the fridge, those will be around for a while, but I will have to plan yogurt & tinned fruit for afters or they will never get eaten!
