Today's cooking adventure is to use up the rest of the aloo gobi tray bake (recipe off the beeb) to make Samosadillas - the spiced veg mix used as a generous filing in tortillas with a smidge of melty cheese. Using the toastie maker to create no-fuss & no fry triangles that resemble take-away samosas. The tortillas crisp up really nicely but without the deep fat frying, 3 of these have the same calories as 1 from the curry house!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! We had fish and chips yesterday. We'd ordered large cod each but don't think they had any as they sent 2 medium ones, so we only ate one each and will be having the other reheated tonight! Along with some of the LO chips, will do some peas to have with them as well.
@rtandon27 those Samosadillas sound good; may well do something similar for lunch one day but will have to do them in the toaster as don't have a sandwich maker any more.

LOL - I couldn't live without mine - cheese toasties with tomato soup are a favorite! Though these days processed cheese slices have made way for proper cheese...
...makes fun triangle eggs & triangle omelettes too 😉 - who'd have ever thought that a 5 pound splurge in MrS a few years ago would bring back so many fun childhood memories! The OH laughs everytime I get it out 🤣4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! Absolutely the opposite here - the coffee machine gets used every day!

We had a very expensive coffee machine that basically became a dust gathering ornament so I sold it at a huge loss. Dh then bought one of those pod type ones a cheap one).... that also became an ornament, so DS1 then took it away to uni with him. Cafetieres also gather dust - DH usually just grabs instant (I don't drink coffee) sigh...I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £203

Our dust gatherer is a proper Gaggia all singing, all dancing with steam nozzle and whooshing sound. I bought it for DH for an astonishing amount of money (double it, whatever you are thinking...) after we had been having a completely awful time with people dying but then I was promoted and received a bonus. So there is emotional baggage. Like @greent's DH, we both grab a good instant most of the time but occasionally (like this weekend, where I got to the artisan baker in time to get two of his almond croissants) we will use our Italian stove top percolator. SO it just sits there, taking up a vast amount of space.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Ours is also an all singing, all dancing bean to cup machine with the steam nozzle; the stupid thing is we only drink black coffee. The steam nozzle thingy only ever gets used if DD1 fancies a coffee when she visits - and that obviously hasn't happened for a very long time now! Neither of us can stand instant coffee - would rather go without than drink instant or just have a cup of tea instead.
Absolutely love almond croissants @Suffolk_lass but only ever eat them when we go on holiday to France!
Got some mutton out of the freezer and cooked it with loads of chopped veg from the freezer - I make up stew veg packs and freeze during the winter. Has made 6 portions so we'll have mutton casserole for dinner tonight with some mash & green veg, probably cabbage. The other 4 portions (2 x 2 portions) have gone into the freezer.
