Oooo SL - I have gadget envy - I might not NEED a pikelet mould, but now I WANT one! - of course, we'd need to also have something other than an induction hob to use it but that's a whole other WANT! 😉🤣
Lunch today was Shawarma wraps, made with a pack of naans found in the storecupboard, cooked chicken from the freezer, shelf-stable houmous from the storecupboard, grated cucumber & finely sliced shallots. Sadly, we are lacking in other salad veg but those two gave the wraps a nice freshness!
Dinner tonight will be pickety bits - cold meats, cheeses, houmous, olives, sliced fruits, pita bread, crackers & something sparkly to drink. Yum - low effort & always tasty! Might even finish off the last of our holiday chocolate for dessert!
Bring on frugal January - my challenge for the month will be to reduce the grocery budget by 20% - so a bit more creativity will be needed to really make a dent in our freezer & cupboard stores without constantly replacing everything we use up!4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Yes, the same here @rtandon27, I am going to need some more fruit but I seriously want to wind down what I have in fridge, freezers, store-cupboard and in sacks, on hooks or in jars that I have preserved. I am going to try and keep January spend to an absolute minimum and under £20 a week if I can - we always spend on eggs and milk because they are delivered but otherwise, just the bare necessities.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I saved £14,660.97 of £6000 or 244.35% of my target. The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I finished the year at £2880.99/£3000 or 96.03% of my annual spend so I am sticking with a £3000 annual budget for 2026

I've got some chicken thighs out of the freezer and going to make a Fakeaway KFC with HM chips, corn on the cob and using up half tin of beans from the fridge.

Happy New Year, like others I'm hoping to keep the spends this month to a minimum. Really want to eat up the contents of the store cupboards and freezers. Picked up some red peppers and tomatoes yesterday so thinking of making a soup with some and then will make a pasta sauce with mushrooms and courgette with the others to freeze. I might also make shakshuka for a change.
I've got some prawns in the freezer other than eating in salad or stir fried does anyone have any good suggestions.

Breakfast this morning was leftover biscuits and cheese from last night's pickety bits with a steaming strong cup of coffee!
Another Shawarma wrap for lunch, with some olive houmous spread inside to hold all the bits in the naan - again super tasty and enough chicken left in the freezer for another lunch next week.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!!
