    Any suggestions for ox kidney...
How about a sausage & kidney casserole in the slow cooker, a steak & kidney pie, or panfried in butter with a cream sauce?  Growing up, I remember my mom making steak & kidney pie with puff pastry on top for her childhood friend who would come and visit us every summer, so that would be my choice as it brings back lovely memories
I've always used lambs' kidneys in the past. I guess I'm assuming that ox kidney would be tougher and stronger flavoured. I might give it a try in the SC (although no pastry as I need to get back to low carb - my GP has my on a low carb diet for long-covid and I know it helps my fatigue and joint pain.

Having leftover prawn in black bean sauce from the freezer for dinner, with some boiled rice.  Had to pick up some salad leaves last night as completely forgot to buy them with the weekly shop.  Also managed to pick up some reduced garlic bread which I portioned up and stuck in the freezer for DH, as well as some reduced dried chickpeas and yellow lentils that I haven't been able to find for a while.

Made a couple of portions of mushroom soup at the weekend so having that for lunches over the next couple of days and then need to make some veggie soup to use up some stragglers from christmas (including the glut of potatoes that appear to never end!)
