Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 2

Good evening everyone
tighteningthebelt it’s good to see you back, hoping you’re making a good recovery. Well done on your losses 👏 You say that giving up sugar in tea and coffee is a small thing, but how many cups of tea or coffee do you drink in a typical day, and how many spoonfuls of sugar does it add up to?Roundtuit well done on improved fitness 👍 The way our bodies lose fat is unpredictable. Don’t forget you’ll be losing subcutaneous fat from all over (I dropped half a shoe size when I lost 2 stone - fat feet! who knew?), and the fat from around your heart and other internal organs, as well as from the more visible parts. And don’t forget that your colleague commented on your new-found waist.Brambling perhaps your cat is dropping a hint that you should make him a cat’s cradle🐈
Gingerlily it can’t be easy when you have to work around the things you can’t eat, so respect to you for persevering. I find logging my food on a daily basis helps me see what’s working for me and what isn’t.
Molly so sorry you’re missing your daughter and your holiday, {{hugs}} And if you can’t have a little moan to your friends when you’re feeling down, it’s a hard world indeed. Would something like a hard boiled egg and salad help when you feel ravenous?
Weighing in: I’ve STS this week, so am very pleased.
All this talk of jeans: this morning I tried on the new jeans I bought a couple of days before lockdown started. Then, they only just went over my hips, and the only way the zip would have zipped was if I’d ripped it out. Today, the zip zipped, and I’ve been wearing them comfortably all day! The pair I have just retired wouldn’t even go more than halfway up my thighs when I started losing weight, now they’re far too loose and the legs too long! (Where’s the jumping for joy emoji?)
Today’s food
B : porridge
D : cold roast beef with salad (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, spring onion, olives); strawberries & cream
AT : 2 shortbread biscuits
T : banana, peach, and Skyr
S : 2 squares 85% chocolate
Wishing you all a good safe and healthy week.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

I agree gingelily gluten free bread isn't great although it's better than it used to be, Genius is one of the not so bad ones but they are so expensive
I've had a really lazy day, there was so much I was going to do as well 🙄 and all I seem to have done is eat 🥺Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin10 -
Hi everyone
I have had a good day with what I have eaten and that has given me such a boost. I have even dug out my old fitbit so I can record my steps (pitifully low) and also record my sleep patterns (just for curiosity really). My sister came to see me and we had a great chat at a distance and she was very encouraging too. She has put on a stone since lockdown started so she is going back to using slimming world recipes as she did really well with them before. My oldest daughter Jemima is going through a bad marriage break up so has decided to take control back of her meals and exercise and my niece is looking to lose 4 stone before her wedding next year. We shall all support each other and hopefully make positive changes with whatever method used. We have our own little slimming club really.
I will tweak my food tomorrow as I made a couple of mistakes but the main one is not looking up the calories before I eat anything. I thought I made a good choice having 2 sticks of celery and a bit of peanut butter as a snack but the pb was so calorific. Tomorrow I will have some soft cheese with it instead although I have to say that I don't really like raw celery. I will have to think of something else to smear my cream cheese on.
So anyway, my meals today were:
b - 3 hard boiled eggs
l - tuna and avocado salad with baby beetroots
d - pork loin chop, baby potatoes, broccoli and cauliflower with a bit of gravy and mint sauce
s - 2 sticks celery and peanut butter
I am trying very hard to be mindful when I eat as well so I have stopped eating in front of the computer screen or tv. I know it's only day 1 and goodness knows I won't be able to keep this motivated for long but I am enjoying it while it lasts.
Hope you all had a great day too, take care xx

Thank you so much for all the hugs, and I'm sending hugs back to everyone in need. I'm much better now and have just been enjoying catching up on how everyone is doing - everybody is so supportive on this thread.
Roundtuit your Co-op car park experience had me puzzled and then chuckling. I like to get my money's worth too - I've got a Tu summer dress that was a charity shop bargain and I'm about to turn it inside out and narrow the seams for the second time as its feeling a bit baggy again. I've also altered a few long skirts into short ones - as long as I choose ones with long splits I can wonder web and sew them up. It would be so nice to dress up for the office for a change - never thought I would say that these days. I need to do another try on of the too small clothes again soon. It always spurs me on.

Morning xx
Yesterday's intake:
B - porridge with bits in
L- cheese sandwich, crisps, Club Orange
T - swiss roll & custard
And because I didn't eat a proper tea
S - ice cream, mini cheddars, yogurt
D - tea, coffee, diet coke, water - but not enough
Calories = 1681
Not the healthiest of choices but not OTT calorie - wise. Still aiming for 1700/ day. I'll recalculate BMI and calorie intake when I've lost a stone.
Blue - well done on getting in to those jeans. You've reminded me that I have a next size down pair of jeans AND a pair of work trousers that I can start tugging on to see how far they go - and then measure progress that way too. Well done on the need to narrow the seams on your dress again supersaver xx
Hope everyone has a good week.
Stay safe

Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin9 -
Hi again xx
I found the jeans! The last time I tried them on - don't even remember when it was - I couldn't get them any higher than my thighs. Today I can get them up and on at the back but there's no chance of zipping them up - you could fit the M25 between the two edges of the zip.
Something has changed in my head though - I didn't throw the offending article in a heap, I folded it up and said 'I'll be back'. I've had porridge with bits in for breakfast - I was going to have cereal for a change, but it was the last sachet of porridge and I wanted to recycle the box! I wish I had this head on all the time!
Anyone else here related to Worzel Gummidge?

Hello x
Thank you for your kind comments - Im better today keeping myself busy although my headaches are bad, thank goodness Im having Botox this week for them - why you would put yourself through that for vanity - I do not know, as it is very painful but works!!!!
Anyway keep plodding on - I too, ahem, have lost my skirt and knickers, but in the house my husband insisted I invest in some smaller pairs!!!!!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.11
