Old Style Weight Loss 2020 - Part 2

Good afternoon all,
Thanks for the birthday wishes. I received a lot of gin and some other lovely presents. This morning's jobs were home school with the HT and cake making for a friend's boyfriend's birthday. Boyfriend is also a friend so I don't mind. After sitting with the HT while he's working I'm also impressed by how quick he is and how much he knows. I had left him to his own devices to see what happened and what actually happened was very little other than English. We have now moved on to a more formal timetable.
As I'd guessed, yesterday's weight increase was birthday induced and I'm a couple of pounds lighter this morning (thank goodness). I'm still about a pound heavier than when I last reported a loss but I've started week 4 of couch to 5k this morning (something to do while the cakes were in the oven) so I'm hoping that by a week on Friday I will be able to start reporting losses again.
Izadora healthier would be a good aim I think. It might encourage you to think more positively about yourself. It's a reason to be proud of yourself while you're waiting to be thinnerMy thanks button has also vanished.
Monna I'm trying your approach of concentrating on what I eat too. After you saying that a small sandwich was enough the other night, I've started eating my meals off a side plate. I'm full after a side plate of food and because I'm at home all the time I'm not eating in case I'm hungry later so I can always go and get fruit or a snack if I need too. The added bonus of "The Monna diet" is that if you can taste what you're eating then you don't have Covid-19. A healthy eating plan and health test all in one
Brambling I hope your back is still OK. I was thinking of you as I have an interesting asthmatic cough just now which I assume is hayfever induced and I wondered if you had the same. It should get me a clear path through the shop later when I go to buy my cousin's birthday flowers.
SIRENS I hope you're a little less sore today. I'm impressed at the HIIT workout though!
Molly Hi there, lovely to see you
Blue-doggy I loved your description of the baby birds
Black_Saturn your food sounds so interesting!
roundtuit it was lovely to see you in a photo. I really don't like having my photo taken but a friend took one of me handing over a cake to another friend's dad last week and I was surprised to see that the back view wasn't actually as wide as I thought it was. The front view still isn't great but I'm hoping the exercise will help.
Take care all of you

Cranky yep me too, depending on others reactions I may tell people in the queue that it's just asthma as they try to shuffle away, as you know the more you try to stop it the worst it gets
I've upped my preventative inhaler and take hay fever tablet, my peak flow is good at the moment. I'm currently avoiding wearing as face mask as it makes my breathing worst and I've read that people with asthma don't need to if because of this. I'm still trying to avoid going out too much where there are people and tend to go to the farm shop and /or supermarket just on a Saturday and avoid the rest of the week.

Good evening everyone
SIRENS congratulations on your loss 👏. I am amazed and completely in awe of your energy and
your diverse exercises 🚴♀️👯♀️ 👫
Roundtuit it’s looking very good and consistentBrambling your garden is certainly fighting backI’m glad you enjoyed your delicious-sounding burger, and very well done on avoiding the 4pm snack 👏
Izadora well done on the changes you’re making 👍 you can do itI was wondering if keeping a food and mood diary would help you see if anything you eat affects your moods and emotions? Milk chocolate makes me feel miserable, partly because it gets scoffed in bulk. It’s like an addiction. And something unknown makes me really irritable.
CRANKY I’m glad you enjoyed your birthday, and well done on getting back to C25K so quickly 👏
The duvet (washed in grape-treading fashion in the bath) was on the line in the sun all day yesterday and today, and still has a damp hem where water is slowly seeping down. It’s on an airer in the bathroom for tonight.I wrote a lot of emails to friends this morning, picked up a package from the delivery office, and got some shopping from a sm I don’t use often (and shan’t again for a while as the social distancing inside was fairly lax). This afternoon I played online board games with friends.
Today’s menu

L : cold roast lamb salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes)
D : grilled steak with green beans, carrot and cabbage; cinnamon yogurt

Just popping in for a quick catch up. Lots of posts to read. I'm another one who doesn't drink enough water. I quite like grapefruit squash but for some reason DH always snaffles it even though he prefers blackcurrant, which I don't. Drives me crazy. I need to just start drinking water, its so much simpler and cheaper. I'm on track to lose one of those pounds I gained back last week. The scales are saying 1.5lb weight loss at the moment, but I am going to err on the side of caution and only record the full pounds when I do my WI on Saturday - I think my lack of hydration means I could easily add a half pound just by drinking a glass of water
Feeling a bit out of energy again - I wonder if that is water related - seems to happen around hump day - so I'm planning on another day off running tomorrow and will pick it up again on Saturday. I'm slightly fed up with working from home at the moment, so looking forward to the bank holiday weekend. Also feeling a bit stressed out about moving house - but things are moving forward slowly - bit like my weight lossI know I need to be positive and look after myself, otherwise its easy to have a sugary pick up that ultimately gets me down
Edit - just popping back as I was looking through some photos of myself in July 2017 and realised I weighed 13 stone 10 lb at the time. A bit of a shock as my whole life I've been a 12/14. I'm now (almost) down to 12 st 10 lb and in fact it was only in July 2018 that I started to lose weight. Its been a bit of an up and down journey - lose a couple of pounds, gain a pound, lose a couple of pounds, gain a pound and so on. But it has been a steady downward slope. I know I was miserable because of certain things that happened in my life, which made me behave miserably and of course led to more misery and probably to overeating to compensate. D'you know I'm slightly sobbing just typing that. You kind of hold it all in and its just not healthy so I've made a decision to talk about it with my family over the weekend and I might even tell a few friends over the coming weeks. Who knows it might even help.OSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Morning xx
Yesterday's intake:
B - 2 Weetabix, skimmed milk, half teasp sugar
L - egg sandwich, biscuit bar
T - 2 cauliflower cheese grills, yogurt
S - banana, crisps, Crunchie (included in calorie count & deliberate choices)
D - tea, coffee, diet coke, water
Calories - 1650I've nearly got this 1700 down to a fine art. I'm going off crisps - they don't live up to being savoured
supersaver - hugsIt's good to talk. I've been watching My 600 lb Life each evening and a lot of the time the people only start to address their weight / food eating when they've had therapy to address the issues that caused them to turn to food as a source of comfort in the first place. We are such complex beings. I hope you find your family and friends supportive if you choose to tell them. We're here if a virtual friend is needed xx
Blue_Doggy - I'd just about decided not to post what I ate yesterday thinking I'm boring you all. Your comment brightened me up and here I am. Thank you
CRANKY - I'm all hips, boobs and belly - guess where the weight will drop off first! Face, arms and legs - it's a conspiracy
There's been wet stuff coming out of the sky here - I can fair here the garden slurping it up!
Take care. Stay safe.

Hi good morning, I am sneakily just checking in as I have something positive to report - 6000 steps before breakfast, lovely walk with dog walking friend. Very nice.
Yesterday had a beer, but did not have choc ice cream w boys.
Got back in my kayak on Tuesday and did 3 + hours - great for mood, but doesn't count much on the exercise tally, except it does wake up al of the little muscles in core and back side!Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Hello x
Thank you for all your nice comments.
I think - just think - the mood stabilisers are beginning to work well they make me sleep at night when im at my worst!
Anyway I weighed in today and have lost 1lb and a bit for next week so happy given im on meds. Perhaps it will catch up with me next week! Love and hugs and claps for those who have lost or STS and positivity to those who have gained - love and hugs to you too xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.10 -
Morning everyone.
I have somehow managed to lose TWO POUNDS. Despite the ice-cream and wotsit festival the other night.9 -
Morning All,
Cranky Gin's an excellent birthday present. I accidentally ordered two bottles (blood orange and lemon) last night...Eating from a side plate's a really good idea, I've noticed that if I put a sandwich or wrap on a dinner plate I'm more likely to grab some crisps as well.
Brambling If it's making people keep their distance then don't tell them that it's only asthma making you cough
Blue Doggy A food and mood diary would be a really good idea. I have noticed that sometimes too much sugar will make me really irritable but it'd be handy to keep track over a period of time. It sounds like you had a productive, if somewhat irritating due to lack of distancing in the SM, day and I hope you won at the board games.
supersaver I really understand where you're coming from. Bottling everything up is no good for any of us but sometimes the thought of admitting how you feel is just too daunting. I hope that opening up to family and friends helps and you know where we are if you need us.
roundtuit Please don't ever think you're boring us. I like seeing what other people are eating as it often reminds me of things that I like but haven't had for a while. There's definitely a conspiracy around where weight appears/disappears first. I'm very pear shaped so, of course, the first place I ever lose weight is on my top half.
ditty I think you'd probably done more steps before breakfast than I've done this week!! I would've thought that kayaking would count as exercise but just being out on water for that long sounds lovely. I love the fact that I live near the sea but, having seen pictures on Facebook of my local beach the past few days, I'm very glad I'm avoiding it at the moment.
Molly Very well done on the loss and don't worry if a little bit of it creeps back next week, being able to sleep is much more important.
Honey Well done, that's a really good loss, even without a wotsit and ice cream party
I hope everyone manages to have a good bank holiday weekend. I'm not sure whether I'm pleased that I agreed (ages ago) to work on Monday as it fills some time or annoyed that I don't get an extra day of lazing around
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx

Izadora: Getting the kayaks in was on a small green and it was literally crawling w kayakers an paddle boarders but still possible to distance, and as soon as we got five min upstream it was lovely and quiet and I saw a Kingfisher.:-)
It's usually the same with the beach if you walk 10 - 20 min to a side, there won't be a soul. Depending.
