Morning Losers,
Oh Izadora, I could weep for you. I bet we've all been in that place where it all seems too overwhelming and our response is to stuff food into ourselves to try and dull the pain. Only it doesn't, it just makes us feel worse, so we stuff more in to punish ourselves. Then it's the 'Last Supper' syndrome where, having well and truly blitzed our diet, we eat everything that isn't nailed down because TOMORROW we will be locking the fridge, electric fencing the food cupboard, putting our hair shirt on and getting back to the straight and narrow. Today is Last Chance Saloon so stuff it all in.
Give yourself a break sweetheart. Eat whatever you want, but for goodness sake enjoy it. You really deserve to enjoy your food but you can't if you are guiltily shoving it in without even thinking about it.
How about stopping whatever diet you are supposed to be on and just concentrating on on tasting and loving everything you put in your mouth. You know you're worth it.
Blue, I have a family of baby robins too. I have filled an old plastic paint roller tray with water and they can drink from the shallow end and play in the deep end, just like children, splashing about
Not too sure what I'll be eating today, but it looks like salad and ice cream weather.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Im still reading along although DH has limited my access to the internet as my mania means I overspend!!!!
Izadora hugs to you x
Im now on the weight gaining mood stabilisers so dreading what the scales say but needs must.
Much love and positivity to you all xxxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.10 -
Morning All,
Sorry for yesterday's pity-party and thank you for the kind words. I'm not quite at the stage of believing that I'm worthy of them but I'm getting there.
Blue Doggy thank you, bossy-boots were definitely what I needed and you're very right about wet feet not meaning I have to fully immerse myself. The baby birds in the garden sound lovely and I love the fact that they're like naughty little escapees.
roundtuit I'm glad that your mid-week peek showed that things are working.
Brambling Yes, it's a fun little merry-go-round isn't it!! I hope that your back's improving and I don't know if it would help you but I've found that using a wobble cushion makes working from a dining chair much more comfortable. Your food yesterday included salad and fruit, I'd take that as a win
monnagran Thank you and I'll try to focus more on enjoying what I eat, no matter what it is, rather than what I think I should allow myself. Also, I think you must be the most appropriately named person I've ever 'met'
Molly I hope that the mood stabilizers are helping and try not to worry about any weight gain. You've done so well and looking after yourself is much more important.
I'm another one who's guilty of not drinking as much water now that I'm working from home (strangely, being able to see the water dispenser on the fridge doesn't have quite the same effect as the biscuit tin being in my eye-line...) so I'm trying to make the effort to drink more. I may have to move the bottle of squash though, it's currently in the same cupboard as the snacks and it's all too easy to grab something without really thinking about it. Seeing as it's likely that I'll be working home for a while yet, and hopefully being able to work from home a few days a week even when we do go back to the office, I've decided to get myself a desk to put in the spare room. I don't know if it will cut down on the amount of snacking I'll do but at least it'll involve walking up/down stairs if I do want anything
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx9 -
I waited until I was hungry before I ate my lunch. Now I actually feel a little bit too full. Both quite novel experiences. It's all about re-education at this house. My colleague brought in her tape measure so that I could measure the inches (to be) lost as well as the pounds lost on this new adventure. Starting figures have been duly noted.
I've booked the afternoon off work

Hello all, Sorry that I've been missing, I tend to go quiet for a bit at this time of year - the lead up to my birthday which is then followed the day after by my late husband's birthday and my wedding anniversary on the same day. It's just habit I think. I was definitely OK with the whole thing this year.
I've done the first three weeks of couch to 5k so no weight loss to record and the bottle of prosecco that I drank yesterday to celebrate my birthday won't be helping either. I've taken the pressure off myself by not recording any gains as the running thing is important to me. I'm happier when I'm getting fitter, not just when I'm losing weight. Hopefully I'll be able to combine the two going forward now.
Brambling I hope your back is OK
roundtuit I think I may follow your example and take some measurements
Take care all of you9 -
Good evening everyone
Brambling If we were able to meet, you’d be more than welcomeand I certainly wouldn’t be doing any kicking! I hope your back has been better today.
Roundtuit measuring is a very good idea, and I’m glad your sneaky peek at the scales was rewardingIt sounds as thought you had a good day.
Monnagran I know you’ll have enjoyed your salad and ice cream
molly it’s good to hear from youstay safe, and all best wishes.
Izadora what a good idea to have an upstairs office, I call my stairs my “built-in gym”I hope you’ve had a better day today, we’re all here rooting for you and believing in you
CRANKY significant anniversaries are tender affairs, I’m glad it was easier for you this year. Happy Birthday for yesterday 🍾 It’s very good that you’re feeling fitter and the running is helping.
I washed my winter duvet in the bath this morning and hung it on the line in the sun to take advantage of the lovely day forecast. Other than that, Blue Doggy Land is a news-free zone.

Evening All
I'm popping in with a loss of -1lb, I confess to being a little disappointed as I thought I'd been rather saintly over the weekend, may have be more delusional. Still not to worry, onwards and downwards.
Brambling hope your back is feeling better x
Izadora, you are worthy, xx sometimes we just need to get it all out there so we can move on.Lovely to see you Cranky, happy belated birthday 🎁
Well work day for me today, managed to get my washing out on the line before catching my train, it was such a glorious day. I must do my duvets too BlueGot loads of fruit and veg on my way home, I think I went a little overboard, it was so heavy, the walk home from the station seemed to take fo ever! I am aching as yesterday I did my usual bike exercise then ds had been set a HIIT, workout as homework, so I agreed to do it with him, well this was clearly not designed for the over 40 (closer to 50) overweight, unfit, it was 40 min of hell. Then dd decided she wanted to do a dance workout, 20 minutes later I was on the floor and today EVERYTHING aches. I have managed my 30 min bike, but that's it. I'm so glad it's my day off tomorrow.
Todays meals
B bran flakes, nectarines nat yog
L lo spicy rice, chicken and pineapple, banana
D Nasi goreng but with butternut squash instead of chicken, I seem to be in rice over drive at the moment ive had it everyday since Sunday and twice today!'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

Well done on your loss Sirens I'll take -1lb over my STS 👏👏
happy belated birthday Cranky I hope the HT spoilt you 🙂
Really nice to see you Molly
Izadora you are worthy to all the nice comments, just remember to be as nice to yourself as you are to othersthanks for the wobble cushion tip I'll have a look at them.
Because my back felt so much better I decided tackling the weeds growing against the back of my fence (from the garage block) would be a good idea as out of sight out of mind meant they were getting out of hand 🙄 definitely not a good idea 🥺 but at least my garden bin is now full, this idiot also didn't wear gloves so I've been sitting removing prickles having 'found' a bramble 😬 I managed to water and put my seedlings back in the mini greenhouse after dinner so not too bad, just a little reminder to take it easy 🙂
i decided before bed last night that taking a small portion of chilli out of the freezer for lunch was a good idea in this heat 🙄 I had it with LO broccoli rather than rice. Dinner was a pork and apple burger from the farm shop with portobello mushrooms stuffed with soft goats cheese mixed with fresh herbs and garlic used as the bun served with stir fry peppers, shallots and sugar snap peas. The mushrooms were very tasty and I have half the goat cheese left so I may have to add herbs and garlic again and find something to stuff 😁
i avoided the 4pm snack which is a habit rather than being hungry and once I had sat on my hands for half hour I was find and didn't need dinner until 7pm and I'll go to bed before I give in to the mouth hunger and hunt for something

Morning All,
Has anyone else's Thanks button disappeared or is it just mine?
roundtuit I hope you enjoyed your afternoon off and well done for waiting until you were hungry for lunch rather than having it just because it was lunch time. The re-education seems to be going really well
Cranky Belated Happy Birthday wishes. Anniversaries are never easy and it seems like you've got a lot of stuff going on all at the same time but I'm glad you coped okay this year.
Blue Doggy Well done for getting the duvet washed, it was definitely the weather for it yesterday. I should think about getting ours done as I've noticed that I keep getting too hot in the middle of the night. Seeing as I bought an XXL washing machine specifically so that I could fit a duvet in I have no excuse, well, other than laziness...
Sirens Well done on the loss. I know it may seem disappointingly slow to go, especially when it's so easy to gain, but you're heading in the right direction. I'm not surprised you ache, I'm in pain just thinking about the amount of exercise you did!!
Brambling Ouch, gardening sounds like a hazardous hobby!! Well done for avoiding the 4pm snack and your stuffed mushrooms sound lovely. I love mushrooms and eat a ridiculous amount of them but haven't had stuffed ones for a while so that's definitely something to put on the upcoming menu plan.
I can't say that I ate particularly well yesterday but I did at least try to make sure I enjoyed everything rather than stuffing it in mindlessly. I'm trying to take everyone's advice and be kind to myself and I also need to remember that everything going on in the world right now was bound to hit me at some point, it's just thrown me for a loop that it seems to have got on top of me in one sudden lump. I know that I'm incredibly fortunate that I can work from home and that cancelled holidays/events are a minor annoyance but it's hard to motivate myself with the promise of being able to fit back into lovely clothes when there's nowhere I can go to wear them. I need to follow Cranky's example and focus on being healthier rather than lighter.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx7
