Izadora the chocolate hostage didn't help....I demanded he give it back last night and HE DID!!! I'm going to have to depend upon myself and I can tell you now, that's not going to turn out well.
Sirens 1 pound lost is better than no pounds and much better than a pound gained!
General puttering around the house today. I'll be making husband an apple salad for his dinner to go with some lo chicken.
As for me today:
brunch-scotch egg/1 oz cheese
late lunch-taco salad
snack-cauliflower pizza crust with meatballs/mozz topping

Good evening everyone
monnagran that must have been your darling Clementine’s little sisterIf those herring boxes without topses are lying around, I could grow my tomatoes in them (unless Clemmie’s dad has taken them down the mine).
snowbird wise words in your earlier post, shame about the Keeper of the Chox - you just can’t get the staff these days ...
Supersaver happy to have helped a bit, if only to have the dumps all to myself, ‘cos that’s where I’ve been all daySeriously, I hope you’re feeling a bit (lot) happier today
Dumpling that was a good practical way of using your very early morning, I’m glad you felt happier after.
Molly don’t let weighing in become a worry, it’s a good way of learning how your body responds to various inputs and moods. Be brave, we’re all here for you
Black Saturn another exercise phobe here, Junior Doggy makes me go for walkies, but running or cycling don’t attract me at all, I cheer for those who enjoy it though. 👏
Izadora I’ve been feeling exactly the same today, somehow all I want to do is be horrid to myself by eating and drinking the wrong things. Self-sabotage is putting it mildly
SIRENS well done on your loss 👏. It may have been “only” one pound, but it’s gone, hopefully for ever. I think monnagran’s three vegetables is a useful description, a lot of us on here are “onions”
Today has been beastly, rain, cold, miserable. I’ve been feeling really down, and irritable. I even had to go into extra self-isolation in the car because I was getting grumpy with the dogs. I nearly went for a long walk on my own, in the rain, with no coat on because I felt so mouldy; it was only remembering my mum’s warnings about “catching your death of cold” that stopped me.
So, what did I eat?
B : porridge
L 1: cheese salad (lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes; tangerine
L 2: 3 glasses sherry**, a whole box of chocolate biscuits*
AT: 2 more chocolate biscuits
D : sausage casserole (onion, celery, aubergine); blackberries & apple with yogurt
*its all W8rose’s fault, I’d a packet ordered, but it’s one of the lines they’ve discontinued. However, I found them lots cheaper on the South American river, and they arrived today ...

The much colder weather today has made me long for warm, comforting winter type food.
B: porridge with honey and cinnamon.
L: cheese and tomatoes on toast. Apple crumble and custard. (See? What did I say?)
Sn: Handful of Pringles, a banana and Clementines aunt by marriage. Blue, the herring boxes without topses are the only footwear that fit my feet, find something else for your tomatoes!I believe that friends are quiet angels

The cold weather has definitely affected how I feel - I couldn't face my salad sandwich lunch yesterday - my teeth started to chatter. But, after all my gloom this week I have just done my second WI and can record my 2nd 1lb loss - that's two in total now and I have left Obese BMI behind by 2lbs. Thanks for keeping me going everyone.
It seems like such a long and impossibly hard slog and I am only just at the very start, so your comments have really helped me this week. Part of the problem has been jumping on and off the scales all week- I've gone down and then gone up again and my mood has gone up and then down again. I've got to remember your kind words - I am in this for the long haul and if it was easy I wouldn't be in this position. I have to keep thinking forward to the 30th of June when I will be able to wear some of my too small clothes again (and hopefully be able to donate some of my current clothes).
Hope you have a good day everyone and that we get some sunshine cheer soonOSWL (start 13st) by 30Jun20 6/10

Well done on the BMI shift Supersaver x'You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose' - Dr Suess

Good morning all,
supersaver well done on your loss. Either stay off the scales until weigh day or be scientific and look for the pattern in your ups and downs. I can't stay off the scales but I do know that if I have rice for dinner for instance then the next morning will be an up. Scientific conclusion - don't eat rice the night before I get weighed
Today will be my seond C25K "run" on the spot in my kitchen. I feel more positive about food now that I have a way to exercise a little too. The exercise is not needed for weight loss, but it makes a difference to my mood which in turns gives me the impetus to make an effort to cook and eat healthily.
blue_doggy the trouble with alcohol is that once it's consumed I then believe that all foods have zero calories and that I look ok so I can eat whatever I want. I do not look ok. The other issue with alcohol is that I think "well I'm an adult, if I was having a pub lunch/pub dinner I'd be able to have a drink with it". This is true but in a pub you'd probably stop at one pub measure. At home you can do as you please and there lies the problem. I had a vodka last night, but I hauled the proper measure out of the kitchen cupboard and just had one instead of pouring "freehand". I hope you feel more cheerful today. Our cat is driving me mad - she knows where I keep the treats and sits by my feet yowling at the top of her voice. She's shaped like Pusheen so I've shoved her onto the landing and shut the door.
Take care all of you8 -
Supersaver, that's terrific. A real boost! I do the same as you and keep leaping on and off the scales. If it helps at all, I give myself a window of 2 or 3 pounds and try to keep within that window, gradually moving the window downwards as I lose a bit here and there. It does mean that your heart doesnt fall into your boots if you appear to have put on an ounce or two, or even a pound or two, as long as you don't creep above the top of the window. If you do, you know urgent action is called for.
Thank you for letting me give you all this advice, it helps to remind me what I am supposed to be doing, and I can't see you rolling your eyes.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning All,
Black Saturn I had an attack of the CBAs so the veg is still in the fridge. I'll make the curry tonight though, my husband's having fish fingers and I despise fish to the point that I don't even like my food being in the same oven so need to make a hob dinner. Good luck with your youtube walks
Sirens Well done on the loss. I'm not sure what's more impressive, that or the fact that you managed to get flour!! The severe lack round here is probably quite good, it means I can't bake too much to relieve the boredom of not leaving the house.
snowbird Sorry that the hostage-taker was so easy to break. Tell him to be more stern in future
Blue Doggy I don't know if it was the weather but yesterday was definitely a dumps day. It was also a sausage casserole and booze day for me as well, the casserole was planned anyway but it definitely suited the need for warmth and comfort. The wine wasn't so planned. I thought I'd have a glass with dinner and then had a top up, and another and so on until the bottle was strangely empty...
I hope things seem better today but come and rant at us if not, we'll understand.
monnagran Comfort food was definitely needed on a day like yesterday. I really struggled all day to get warm. I love the idea of having an acceptable weight window and shifting it as you lose weight. I tend either to weigh far too often or avoid the scales like the plague so a way of having a happy medium would be great.
supersaver Well done on the loss. I know how much of a hard, slow slog it seems but you're doing brilliantly and try not to get too hung up on normal daily fluctuations
Cranky I've never really paid enough attention to patterns in my weight fluctuations but it definitely sounds like a good idea. Well, for when I can face going near the scales rather than seeing them as the enemy that is. Well done for sticking to proper measures, I think I'm generally more heavy-handed than I realise when pouring my own. I hope the cat's being less annoying today and good luck for your C25K
I think I'm over the worst of yesterday's grumps but I seem to have a mixture of complete cabin fever and a total reluctance to leave the house for any reason. It's an interesting combination... My husband suggesting starting C25K again on Monday so hopefully that'll force me to get over my fear of "outside" and, like Cranky, put me in a better head space for eating sensibly.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx8 -
very tempted to jump on the scales but resisting the urge to indulge that self-defeating obsession:
what I ate today:
b-two tacos with cheese wrappers
s-14gm chocolate w/hazelnuts
1oz meat/1oz cheese/.5 oz pork rinds
d-cauliflower pizza with pepperoni, sauce, mozz
total carbs <309
