Morning All,
Well, the weather's certainly a bit different today!! I braved the scales this morning and it was very much as expected, a +4lb gain I'd like to say that it's shocked me into making more of an effort but I'm finding it very hard to make myself eat sensibly and avoid the snack cupboard.
Blue Doggy I'm using the excuse that I'm not going anywhere or seeing anyone to be a crumpled mess, I can't actually remember the last time I ironed anythingI hope your afternoon tea experiment works for you.
snowbird Well done on your loss for April, that's really good going. I'm with you on the strange times making me want to eat everything in sight but best of luck with avoiding the cravings.
Brambling Well done for deciding to go cold turkey on the treats. It's something I should consider doing but I fear that I'd make it as far as lunchtime and then crack in a spectacular fashion and end up eating even more than if I'd stuck to grazing throughout the day.Black Saturn Enjoy your soup for lunch, it's definitely the weather for something warm and comfortingTTB Your dinner sounds lovely but I think I'd be far too hungry to eat only that for the whole day.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx10 -
Good evening everyone
snowbird wow! 103 is impressive by any reckoning.
Brambling how has your first day of cold turkey gone?Thank you, my hand is getting better, I haven’t needed painkillers today.
Black_Saturn do you need to buy equipment? Could you use the stairs instead of a stepper? (If you live in a bungalow or flat though that’s out)
Monnagran how did it go today? Any “mistakes”?Izadora thank youThe world divides between ironers and non-ironers. I must admit I gave up ironing towels forty-odd years ago, never iron tights, or acrylic jumpers which have dried on hangers, but I do like a nice crisply-ironed bedsheet, and clothes take up less space when they’re pressed. Even so, I’m a slob compared to my mum, who blued and starched (Robin starch, not spray-on, either!).
So, it rained today, and I caught up with some emails. Senior Doggy had some senior moments, wasn’t sure if he wanted to go into the garden or not “it’s cold and wet, mum!” so a lot of time was spent jumping up to let him out, walking round the garden with him, or just encouraging him to go out. Do you think it’s disguised personal training? It’s certainly not an aid to concentration!

thank you, everyone, for the encouragement. I must admit food has always been my friend a comfort. But i I don't drop some weight, it will be my undoing.
It's still cool and windy here and really nowhere to go around here. Besides, if i did go out, i'd have to change out of my pajamas.
Today's fodder:
b-1egg/1 oz cheese
s-1 oz pork rinds (do you all eat them in the UK/Aus?)
l-I don't usually eat lunch but 3 oz meat, 1 oz cheese, 1/2 tomato and some cucumber slices.
d-roasted chicken leg and green salad
I am going to TRY not to eat any chocolate today as i ate quite a bit yesterday. Ugh.9 -
Hi all,
Bit of old soup for late lunch (using up)
Leek and potato soup for tea with small pear sponge and custard.
Keep warm and keep well today. 😊A bit of grin and bear it, a bit of come and share it
You're welcome we can spare it, yellow socks8 -
Morning All,
Blue Doggy As much as I love the look of freshly ironed bedsheets I have to admit that I'm far too lazy to bother. Our cat was similar to Senior Doggy yesterday, it was as though he couldn't understand where the sunshine had gone and, from the look he gave me when I opened the door, I think he held me personally responsible.
snowbird Being able to stay in your pyjamas is a very valid reason for not going out. I don't know whether it's fortunate or an annoyance that we regularly get requests to jump onto a video chat so I have to make sure I'm dressed in something which won't scare my colleagues. I hope your attempts at not eating chocolate yesterday were successful.
Black Saturn Your food for today sounds lovely and I now really fancy a curry. I've got some veg in the fridge that could do with being used up so that may be a job for later.
I have actually made a meal plan this week and stuck to it. Apart from making sure my dinners aren't too unhealthy I found it a lot easier to do a big shop and get in everything we needed, rather than my normal habit of popping to the shop on the way home from work. I just need to work on the not picking at all of the unhealthy things throughout the day now!!
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx8 -
Hello hope you all safe and staying well.
Im struggling today so have decided not to WI as my mental health can not take anymore today.
Will see how I feel tomorrow.
Keep positive lots of virtual hugs xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.8 -
Morning Losers.
Blue, just one clementine. Hardly worth mentioning.
I have 3 exercise books full of quotes that I have collected over the years, and leafing through them this morning I came across one that might amuse you.............
'I put my scales in the corner of the bathroom, and that's where the b*tch will stay until she apologises.'I believe that friends are quiet angels

*Hugs Molly* give yourself some grace-these are very hard times for us all.
I had a bit of a bender yesterday so back on track today. I really need to stop weighing for a lark and just stay off the scale except for the official WI on Mondays.
Today's menu:
b-scotch egg, 1 oz cheese
d-chef's salad
the no-chocolate was NOT successful so it has been handed over to husband's keeping for its own safety.also not successful today but just 1 oz so i'm ok with it.

Good afternoon all,
I decided this morning that I'm going to redo the C25K running on the spot in the kitchen. I can feel my fitness draining away, lol. I only seem to lose weight when I run so fingers crossed this will help a little.
Take care all of you8 -
Feeling a bit down and my enthusiasm waning lately (and I've only been in this a week). My 1lb loss which felt great last week is looking a bit small at the moment. I know I have to keep at it but it just feels a very slow process. I actually feel better just writing that down - I know I have to keep on keeping on and that every day of healthy eating is a step forward. 30 June seems a long way away but that's two months to crack this so that's also a good thing.
