If you accept a voucher and then TUI did go bust, does ATOL give the same protection for a voucher as they do for a holiday booked?
No, they are not protected ( as of yet)   no matter what anyone has said.
The Government and CAA (who back ATOL)  have so far refused to say they are backed.
Might have to repeat that 100 times for those who aren't getting it.
Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.

Don't think I have done that yet,  but have commented on it and made two different threads with links to back up my view.
I have yet to see one that's states the Government or CAA  have confirmed CRN are protected.

Twitter consumer groups & WHICH (who helpfully campaigned against ABTA's massive efforts to persuade the Government to change the legislation) have all continued to say CAA/ Government need to confirm protection. Small clue in the fact that they haven't! Until they do, the answer isn't a resounding "yes" to the "is it ATOL protected" question.

When are TUI likely to update the latest round of cancelled holidays? As in holidays after 11th June

We were told by generic email 11 days before departure date, though the booking stayed 'live' on the TUI system for some days after that (and it looked like I could actually check-in, though when I tried I got a "phone TUI" message on screen).

I thought that might turn out to be useful, the cancelled email, along with it looking like it was still live, also went through the steps of cancellation myself, right up to the screen that said my refund would be zero (didn't actually complete it). Screenshots all the way to show they would not be taking me, yet had not cancelled my booking, & if I did they'd keep my money.   For insurance claim purposes.

The problem (for TUI) is that as soon as they announce holidays from 12th June to xx of month are cancelled, that will trigger another wave of people ringing up to request a refund rather than waiting for a refund credit note then asking for a refund.

They don't seem to be doing that well in refunding customers for holidays with passed departure dates as it is.

I spoke with a very nice gentleman this week who was dealing with refunds. He was working from home.  He estimated that about 2/3 of his calls were from people with holidays booked outside the current cancellation/refund period who were asking him if their holiday would be cancelled. Many September and October bookings.   No wonder people are struggling to get through.

True, but people also need to know if there holiday is going ahead. Im meant to go on the 15th June to America. Its 99% likely to be cancelled, but until TUI say is it, i have to assume im going

Has anybody used the credit voucher refund to actually pay for a future holiday next year?
I can't see on the payment page online on how to use the voucher code.
